Very poor customer service and faulty bath
I ordered a Coast bath from our local bathroom company. Because we needed the bath quickly, we ordered it a day ahead of the taps. We were not made aware of the option to upgrade to the waste/ fill system at the time of the order, which would have cost £90. A day later, I ordered the waste/ fill system and paid £150 for this. I assumed that when I returned the bath overflow, I would be refunded the £60.
I contacted the company to discuss this. I spoke to someone who gave me a lot of incorrect information which i checked with my plumber, who confirmed to be incorrect. I called back and spoke to another member of staff who was just rude. She explained that it is the company policy to only offer the £90 uplift for the overflow/ fill system if purchased at the same time. I explained that it was literally the next day. I felt this was unreasonable given i had just paid around £1400 for the bath. The person I spoke to said that my contract was with the bathroom company I'd bought it from and nothing to do with Waters of Ashbourne. It felt very dismissive with a complete lack of accountability. The company I bought the bath from couldn't refund me, as they were just charging what Waters charged them.
On the day of the install, our plumber found 2 x faults with the bath, one of which was significant, which meant he was unable to install it. The bath had to be returned to the company and another bath was ordered. I spoke to the bathroom company I bought the bath from and advised them that I would return the overflow/ fill back with the bath, and then Waters of Ashbourne could issue the new bath plus overflow/ fill at EXACTLY the same time, so as to meet their very strict criteria. However, it transpired that this was not necessary, and Waters of Ashbourne would indeed refund the £60, as they could now miraculously do this.
As for us, our plumber can fortunately return to install the bath next week, however, our tiler isn't available for another fortnight, or possibly longer if his baby arrives early.
If you would like to buy a bath from a company who are reasonable, and you don't get the feeling you are being robbed, I would suggest avoiding this one.
