3 may be a bit harsh

I think this is a combination of admiration and disappointment. The bike so have broke - the chain - easy fix but I aimed at getting trying to get the bike up and running - I think through no fault of Wattbike time to home service was just a little too long for an enthusiast- Ultimately I needed an alternative which will now do for similar eventualities and I eventually took on an HQ service, they were actually very quick a 5-8 week turnaround ended up being less than 5. I was disappointed in the time it took to get the bike back from the chain break, but admired their honesty, their frustration I didn’t have a bike as I think they really tried when they had problems. I might be a bit harsh with 3 stars. Maybe if I don’t break the chain and they do end up doing a home service they will hit the heights. Their product is 5 star without doubt. Good people - and that’s what I thought they were - will get better

Thorough service on my wattbike but…

Thorough service on my wattbike. Feels very like new now but I wish the engineer replaced the bar tape and hoods for me for the money I paid. Blamed Covid and left me with the new tape, end plugs, hoods and bar pads for me to do.

Really easy to navigate the website and…

Really easy to navigate the website and ordering was straightforward.
With the Proton the saddle options should be explained as the supplied one is extremely hard and uncomfortable.
I contacted customer service and after a faff with an AI CONTACT I was told there is no Wattbike alternative.Which seems strange as this proton is aimed at a more familly market not the hard core Atom which does have a two seat option race and comfort saddle.
I am an ex road racer so saddles were very important.
So Wattbike you could provide more information and also what fits as most comfort saddles are not compatible.
Other than that a truly great bit of kit that seamlessly connects to all the apps and HRM and just works every time

In terms of the saddle, the Proton has been designed with a hybrid saddle intended to bridge the gap between the previous race saddle and comfort saddle options. Given the Proton’s adjustability and its positioning for a wide range of riders, this saddle was selected to suit the broadest possible audience.

That said, we completely understand that saddle preference is highly personal - especially with your background in road racing. You’re absolutely right that comfort is subjective and can be a key part of the overall experience.

For clarity, the Proton uses a standard seat post fitting, so most aftermarket saddles will be compatible, provided they do not have carbon rails. We’ll certainly take your feedback on board regarding making this clearer on the website, along with more guidance around compatibility.

Regarding the AI chat experience, we use this to provide out-of-hours troubleshooting and to gather key information before cases are passed to our specialist support team. This ensures that when one of our human agents picks up the ticket, they have the full context and can move things forward efficiently. We appreciate the feedback though as we’re always looking to refine that balance.

No problem with the service

No problem with the service, Jamie was excellent. However on the 1st ride after the service it was immediately obvious something wasn’t right….I’ve lost 40-50 watts somewhere! Both my wife and I struggled though our workouts for a week before I called your Helpdesk. I’ve sent over diagnostics as requested but the responses have been very lethargic to say the least and I find myself chasing for updates which isn’t right. Please resolve my issues asap so I can get on with my winter training.

Engineer saves the day… Wattbike must do better

The service received from the engineer Edward was exceptional. He went out his way to find a solution to getting my bike working remotely. Luckily I’m handy enough with tools, otherwise I would have been without my bike for almost 4 months!
He did this because despite booking my service in November, the service has just been carried out in February!!
Wattbike, you need to make sure you increase you resources in the winter months when you are busiest. People pay a lot of money for your kit because you are a great brand…. This experience doesn’t reflect that!

2* (could be 5* or 1* easily)

2* because when the bike is working it is great and could easily be 5* but also could be 1* given the facts below!

I have had my bike for a little over 2 years and totally understand that a 2 year warranty comes with the bike, however after some very slow communication with Wattbike Customer Services they have diagnosed my bike as have a broken "strain gauge" as the cadence is still showing as correct but getting 0W on the power. They have quoted £290 to fix that (in 6 weeks) but recommend that I pay £450 to include a service with this.

For a premium level product costing almost £2500, and having only used the bike for 23hrs (ride time) I would not expect for a defect to occur so quickly on a product of this quality. And all they can say is,

"Electronic components can fail for a variety of reasons over time, even with relatively low recorded usage, and this is precisely why they are covered by a defined manufacturer’s warranty period."

Very disappointed Wattbike and I highly doubt I would be recommending you or your products for these reasons.

The item that needed fixing was the seat post lever

The item that needed fixing was the seat post lever. Whilst this has been replaced it is still a very poor component of the Wattbike Atom. It doesn't grip very well, the seat post slips down when you are training causing problems and strips the coating of the seat post. This has started happening immediately after the repair.

Just had my Wattbike Atom serviced by…

Just had my Wattbike Atom serviced by Edward. Easy to book and Edward called to confirm time. No AI or chatbots- refreshing! New chain and batteries and overall check. Apparently my bike was very clean inside. Probably down to lack of use on my part!Time to get riding fit. Thanks for the old school personal service and the bike is as new.

Doesn't log all activity

Another (hour long) ride completed and again you are immediately prompted with the popup to login or upgrade the app and the whole ride data is lost again. This is not the first time this has happened. Nothing is intuitive. Avoid.

Got a great deal on my Wattbike and good communication on delivery time. Wattbike easy to set up and connect. It is my second Wattbike and been very pleased with both.
