Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the app, citing issues with erroneous directions, inefficient routing that led to longer travel times, and even navigation into accidents or closed motorways. Customers also reported problems with the app's user experience, such as difficulty exiting the app without it continuing to use data, and the lack of an English voice option, with some finding the available American English voices distracting. Some people were dissatisfied with the app's location accuracy, noting instances where it missed destinations, directed them into cycle-only streets resulting in fines, or took them on illogical detours, including one instance of being routed onto a dangerous dirt road. Conversely, a small portion of people found the map useful, with some taxi drivers reporting positive experiences, and a few even preferring it over Google Maps for certain routes, despite minor inaccuracies in timing.

Not user friendly. Particularly annoying that they have made it as difficult as possible to come out of the app/turn off without still using data in it.

London Private Hire

London Private Hire Sriver.
I’ve been using Waze since 2019. Back then it was brilliant would get me through London traffic in ways I didn’t know have worked in London as a mini cab driver for years however in 2022 I was driving from UK to Spain and the app would bring me off the motorway at certain junctions only to put me back from the same junction, on the way home it tried to put me through Paris by then I had no more trust so I switched back to Apple.
I drive extensively in London and still use Waze but have realised it’s nothing like it used to be I am now often just using my knowledge to get around only using Waze app for final destination.
The app now uses exactly the same routes as Google maps (it’s now owned by Google) which to be quite honest was quite useless anyway compared to how Waze used to work. It’s such a shame Waze sold out to Google and then Google runs it down without improving its own app, maybe they are running out of money hope they go broke.

French Alps

I wanted to go from Samoens to Flaine in the Haute Savoie region of the French Alps. The directions given took me the exact opposite direction for about an hour. Thinking this is just one error due signal weakness I tried the next day and same mistake which I obviously didn't follow. I then tried the reverse direction on the way back and again the app was just giving erroneous directions one after another. In short, when in the French Alps do not use Waze and use Google Maps instead

I have NEVER in my 51 years felt the fear I felt today when WAZE routed me down a DIRT BOULDER MUDDY ROAD that My Passenger and I had to be PULLED out of (the mud) The PRIVATE ROAD OWNER came to the rescue. THANK GOD he didn't come shooting. Im BLACK. My passenger was YT. Waze I NEED to speak to someone. My car has possible damage and then some. I am VERY VERY VERY disappointed. IMAGINE being stuck in mud on the side of a Mountain Hill with BEARS & MOUNTAIN Lions...One a TRUMP Country BACK Private ROAD...Just let that sit for awhile. I WILL be using ANOTHER App from here on out

Wake is very poor

Twice in the past 24 hours Waze has given my Uber driver a bonkers route. Last night my two minute wait became 10 minutes. Today I’m now late for a funeral because we round in a circle in the wrong direction for ten minutes. Just useless

I was sent down a remote narrow lane that turned out to be a dead end in the middle of the night next to a canal I had to reverse in the pitch black which was very scary, fortunately a very nice man came out of his house and helped me. I am deleting the ap and will go back to Apple Maps.

Does not warn of cycle only streets

I used Waze and it directed me into a cycle only street costing me a fine. It only warms of traffic and pot holes. There a lot of places that are cycle only are are hidden and look like normal streets for cars.

Started well but not good now.

We have used Waze for several years and it was great. Lately it's started diverting us down every side road then back to our usual route. In the past we have reported an issue; it is taking us in the wrong direction from our gate then back past our home. After logging stuff over and over, we still have the issue!!
We've gone back to Google Maps.

The most awful customer service

The most awful customer service. Absolutely useless. I logged an issue due to Waze directing me on a restricted road, I incurred an £80 for it. Didn’t know the area, relied on Waze to get me home. All I asked is that they update their map route so other drivers don’t follow the same route and get PCN like I did! Issue with the app, only showed Canada and we are in the UK. Customer service don’t want to hear it, giving generic crappy replies. So beware people, use at your own risk, I’ve deleted the app because I’m not trusting Waze to update routes that they are now aware are restricted, they couldn’t get two damns about drivers paying heavy fines so it’s a goodbye from me.

Is waze set by local country regulation…

Is waze set by local country regulation to make you waste your time and money ,??
Today's test just proved it.
I know the road to go to my favourite restaurant per heart, not my partner, and he always be stuck in a big traffic jam, as he used waze. I don't use waze and take another road.
I input the destination into waze, and of course, it suggested the same road as my partner usually takes.
This day, we took 2 cars. I took my road despite waze advices to take another road. I really wanted to see if rhere was traffic or accident on my usual road.
My partner followed waze itinerary.
It took me 22 minutes to go the restaurant, my partner using waze made it in 34 minutes stucked in traffic jam.
Waze of course suggested him to go through the city center, where it is always jamed.
Result following Waze.
Waste of time, money, gas.. and more pollution in city center.
BAD APP.
