Perfect for the security-conscious…

Perfect for the security-conscious online communication user. Technologically gifted staff with a passion to provide stable, non-profit services. I use it as my daily-driver for email: a primary inbox for things that matter to me.

This is an email service that has existed for decades, with very high uptime and stability. I feel safe and certain that I am in good hands.

It is funded by donations, and the service is free of charge.

In conclusion, having an email account with Riseup is a privilege to be taken seriously and be appreciated. Thank you for the hard work, and hoping Riseup will ever continue to be supported and prosper to benefit as many people as possible!

Updated review. 5 stars down to 1.

UPDATED REVIEW: Rating dropped from 5 to 1 stars. When it was working it was brilliant. Then I had a problem. Instructions say check you are using latest version, if not uninstall it. There are two problems with that: 1. No version number is shown, so you can't tell if you have the latest version or not, and 2. The uninstall.exe button doesn't work.
I managed to remove it with uninstall software, along with a related program called Openvpn. But then Riseup would not reinstall.
So I used a file search to find and delete all stray files from my system, and I removed all registry entries for Riseup and Openvpn.
This time Riseup reinstalled fully, but now the program will not open.
Oh well, it was good while it lasted.

EXCELLENT EMAIL & VPN PROVIDER

At RiseUp they mastermind privacy immaculately. They are no-profit organization of passionate activists, yet diligent and efficient. They aim to provide privacy tools (email - vpn) to their users, many of which are activist themselves.

They do not charge but ask for voluntary donations. The more you give and not only you help RiseUp to maintain their services, but you are also helping a lot of no-profit activist, some working in dangerous situations.

Their services are reliable and the support is usually prompt to respond.
One feature they offer, difficult to find anywhere else, is unlimited identities/aliases which allows you to have "sub-emails" not linkable to your main one. So, if you one of those is compromised, you don't need to close your whole account and open a new one.
