This product is a piece of junk

This product is a piece of junk. DO NOT BUY! I bought this for my husband to wear with his Citizen watch. After a very short time of use the back of the Chronos fell off and he could not longer charge it. I have tried contacting them through email to find their "authorized service center" and they do not respond. I have sent over six emails to their listed contact and they never replied. They apparently don't warranty their product. Do not waste your money on the Chronos Wearable!

AVOID

I bought a Chronos for my wife for Christmas and it fell apart on first use. 4 emails to their support address, 2 msgs through their website and 5w later, I have heard nothing.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Great idea but shoddily made and zero support.

No Customer Service

My Chronos fell apart. I tried contacting the company multiple times using both their online form and their direct email address and still haven't gotten a response several weeks later. When I initially purchased the product it was many weeks before they even shipped it, and again no response from customer service regarding my inquiries on the status.

Pathetic

Waited months for my disc while they started supplying other retailers. Then had mine fall apart, was promised a replacement and after 7 months still haven't received it.

Don't bother. Incompetent Company.

Waited for the product for 18 months. Android app wasn't even ready when I got my unit. 3 months later, Android app was released but it was flaky af.
Used it for 2 months before the whole front plate came off.
Called support and was advised that I received a faulty unit and will be replaced. That was 9 months ago.

Really terrible customer service.

Really terrible customer service.
As a start up I expected it to take a while to arrive. It took 7 months. They kept giving dates that it would come and they were simply fiction. When it eventually did arrive it lasted for 2 months and then fell apart. I sent the company photos and they said maybe it was a faulty unit, they would replace it... they didn't. After another 3 months of waiting I asked for a refund. They haven't refunded me- 6 months have passed. They are not an honest company, don't go near them.

Patient and so far unsatisfied..

I am aware of the reputation of kickstarter investments, but this was a good idea. Why would i want to wear a smartwatch or other-such watch, when the watch that tells me the time I like. Having waited patiently for quite some time, my first Chronos Wearable appeared. Its is packaged well, it is the perfect size and though the steps do not seem to be 100% correct, I haven't found it to be too far out - compare to my phone.

However, after just four days there was an issue with the charging of the unit. I reported this and had a response from the Customer Service, which unfortunately required them to send another.

Several weeks later, unfortunately the postal service from the US to UK requires a circuitous route via the moon. My second Chronos wearable suffered the same charging issue after only a week, then the unit fell apart. I would like to add I don't switch this between watches or remove the unit from my watch at all - so i would say its standard use.

This time Customer Service was less than responsive and unfortunately they were also out for stock. So a couple of months later I am now trying my third and hopefully final Chronos Wearable....we will see.

In summary, the product is what it says on the tin. However, it seems that the manufacturing consistency may be a little awry but for a new product I guess we should wait for version 2.0!

So many reasons not to buy from this horrendous company.

You only have to look at the Chronos Wearables FaceBook page to realise that this company is what the iceberg was to the Titanic.
Everyone knows that when you invest in a Kickstarter company, there will always be delays, its normal. Unfortunately Chronos Wearables think that it's so normal that once you've invested in them they get to ignore you and every other investor!
In the time I waited for my Chronos to arrive they postponed delivery 5 times!
Hey, it's a kickstarter, it happens I hear you cry and yes it does happen but at least most companies have the decency to let you know what's going on. These idiots let everyone know it wasn't arriving days after it was supposed to be delivered and then went into radio silence so that no one had any idea what was going on. Despite customers screaming at them, they did it again and again and again. Imagine what they'll be like if you have a problem with the product!
The last stab in the back was when customers that had pre ordered months/year before discovered that Chronos had used their money to supply retail stores and that even though they were still waiting they could order it from stores such as Macy's and receive it the next day. Scummy way to do business.
Their solution to the bad press has been to delete posts they don't like and block anyone with anything bad to say.

Oh and that's the best bit!
The Chronos itself looks amazing, the packaging is great and the size is fantastic, you hardly notice it. Unfortunately the rest is awful.
Initially it sticks to your watch really well but given a few days and it's hit and miss. If I haven't lost it within a month I'd be surprised.
The notification vibration is so appallingly bad that you never feel it. Call vibration is slightly better but only because it constantly vibrates until either the call is answered or it rings off. Unless it's a solar eclipse or pitch dark you can forget about seeing the coloured light indicators. It's just not bright enough.

Lastly the step counter. not sure what to say other than it doesn't work. I've tested it against several other pedometer/fitness apps and watches and the Chronos is out by more than double. I know I walk a lot but on one busy day it told me I'd walked 380000 steps!
I wish mine was faulty but looking around I'm not the only one.

All in all this is an awful gimmicky product produced by a company that couldn't care less about its customers.
Do not buy from these cowboys, do not believe anything they say, use your money to buy from a company that at least has a customer service department.

A busy, cutting edge and small but dedicated company

So I guess my experience has been different than some. I have to admit, I've been frustrated at the delays like the rest of you, Chronos folks included but I've found them very responsive. I've messaged them several times throughout the process and received a response within a day or two each time. In my opinion it's clear they're a small company operating at the bleeding edge of tech (have you noticed that they're aren't 6 knockoffs on the market already? That happens so often when a product gets this kind of buzz - This little bugger must be legitimately hard to make.) I like small companies. I like cutting edge. I live with delays, but when it arrives it'll still be new, cool, and cutting edge. - Keep at it guys!

No communication, unfulfilled promises

I purchased Chronos when I first heard about it almost a year ago. Since then they have missed 3 promised ship dates, missed the promised release for the Android app, They have a severe lack of communication. When I tried to cNcel my order they said would look into it and then was told hours later that they can't refund me because myitem had shipped. I checked the shipping timeline with FedEx and was told that the tracking number for my item was made hours later still. It uses to me I would not have been shipped my item if I didn't want a refund. On top of this, Chronos shipped stock to Macy's before filling pre orders. This company is very untrustworthy and I would not be surprised if they don't have a class action against them.

A great idea for a product, but the worst possible customer service.

Way back in 2013, Chronos came up with a great product idea; a small disc you can wear on the back of your conventional wristwatch that gives it some 'smart watch' features.

To fund their idea, they took preorders (at $99 + delivery a pop). They also promised iOS and Android apps would be available at launch.

Over the years since, they developed a pattern. They promise faithfully that they will start to ship on a given date. When that date rolls past with nothing being said, they then announce that they've had problems (none of which are their fault of course), and promise another date a few months away. Repeat several times.

Their backers have generally been very patient - we understand that problems happen in product development and that delays are inevitable. All we ask is that we be kept up to date with what's going on.

Part of the "fun" of backing a pre-order product is hearing about the process. Being ignored is not fun. Being lied to even less so.

And yes, I say lied to advisedly, because unquestionably lies have been told. For example, having been told that they were going to ship on a given date, backers started asking on their Facebook whether this was still on track in the days leading up to the deadling. When they could manage to get a reply they were told that everything is on track for that. That date rolls past, and it turns out that they haven't even had production samples yet. There was no way that shipping was ever going to happen on that date - so to say it was was a lie.

Over the years since, they have done various offers where they have reduced the price of preorders. When I complained about them dropping the price on me they *did* refund me the price difference out of my money that they'd been sat on, but there are many long term backers out there that won't have been this on the ball.

3 years on from preorders becoming ready, and they are finally starting to ship. Great!

EXCEPT:

1) Despite not having shipped to all backers (and not even planning to ship to some backers until next month), they have somehow found enough stock to roll out to Macys. At least one backer has cancelled his preorder, and ordered from Macys and had it delivered the next day. And to rub salt in the wound, Macys charged the same $99 + delivery that his preorder was priced at.

2) There is no Android app. This means that for people with Android phones, it's an expensive paperweight. An Android app has been promised "this month" (November 2016), but honestly, I've lost all faith in dates from this company.

So, as I said in the headline, the product looks like it has potential to be great - I can't say more than that because a) mine hasn't arrived yet, b) when it does arrive, I can't test it until the App arrives too, c) reviews of the product say that the haptic feedback is too weak, and the lights not bright enough. I have to accept issues like c as the kind of thing you expect when preordering, but a and b are shocking.

The customer service from this company is awful. Don't buy from them until they actually have a shipping product, an Android app, and you've checked the reviews. And then, consider buying through someone like Macys who might actually care about their customers.
