Company does not honour warranty

Purchased a Webb 40cm rotary lawn mower two year’s ago. The purchase offered a three year warranty. Thus, I was surprised that when a split washer failed, it held on one of the wheels, the company offered to sell me a split washer for £1.20 and charge £5.72 for carriage and packaging.
Since, they insisted that payment be a bank transfer, which required that a connection to my bank. This was not possible, because I was processing the order on my iPad and my bank details are on my iPhone!
So, I was required to telephone the spares department where I bought two washers for £5.90, including carriage.
Regarding other reviews on Trustpilot. I’m surprised how few there were. But after researching, I couldn’t discover where these were located! So, this review.
The mower performs ok and is cheap!

Don;t bother. Spend a little more and get a Bosch or anything but this attrocious piece of design.

Bought a lawn mower from their website last week, delivered quickly, which is good. but thats the absolute best I can say about them.

The quality, build quality and engineering is very, very poor. They have 'quick release' levers on the handle, sounds good but they are really low quality and not at all thought through.

One lever broke the first time i used it, so they sent another, and this just slips every time I try to 'close' it. So the handle cannot stay locked in place.

I've used the mower once, and now it's unusable because the handle just flops down rather than staying locked in place.

I'll try and send it back, but as I have used it, I doubt they will accept it back (they already refuse to accept this is a flawed design). So all likelihood is I'll have to write it off and buy a decent product.

Whatever happened to proper engineering? Where a solution was engineered to do a job, not just to be produced at the lowest possible price.

Poor quality and rubbish customer service

Purchased a Webb Walk Behind Blower and Vacuum (2023), and had nothing but problems. First machine was faulty and had to go back, then the main bag was faulty and the front buffer wheel snapped off. Replacement parts had the exact same issue 18 months on. Webb don't want to know. They clearly don't stand behind their products. If you want to use them, suggest only once or twice a year, not for the keen gardener. Very poor quality aftersales. Buyer beware.

Disgraceful Service

Disgraceful Service. I had a Webb 58cm Walk-Behind Vacuum & Blower delivered on Friday and I assembled it over the weekend. I tried the engine out but after a couple of starts, the pull cord was locked in place and would not move. I spoke to a Webb 'Customer Service Agent' who was extremely unhelpful and directed me to a company who he told me look after B & S engines. They knew nothing at all about any warranty deal with Webb or B & S. I went back to the 'Customer Dis-Service Agent' and he 'verbally' shrugged his shoulders and told me he could do nothing for me. This machine hasn't even been used other than the original two test starts.

poor outsourced chinese made product

purchased a webb petrol tiller {rotavator} from screwfix and as these are the most expensive ones they sell you would expect quality, but it broke after just 15 minutes use. when the box arrived the first thing that hits you is the made in china on the side of the box so straight away you know its going to be poorly made, the plastic air filter box fell off from the vibration and the plastic fixings on it had shattered, there is also a flimsy plastic choke adjuster which literally snapped off on its own while in use rendering the machine useless. contacted customer service who basically said take it back as there are no upgrade quality replacement parts to replace the cheap nasty broken plastic parts. i don`t know when companies are going to learn that outsourcing manufacture to china is bad for quality and worse for the reputation of the brand just like dewalt are now realizing, but webb are doing just that and their reputation will plummet and i will now steer well clear of their poor chinese made products.
