Than Swe was an incredible host throughout the entire process! He was patient with us as we had many questions. He was very kind and super polite. He made us feel like family and helped us get a good price for our very old car. I loved my car, but Tran made it easier to let it go. We did not know what to expect, but this was a very pleasant process, and we felt we were treated very fairly.

Everything went as it should.
The appointment went smoothly. We got there early but they took care of us right away. Hector took care of us and was a pleasure to deal with. The price was fair and we walked out with a check.

The personnel at the Silver Spring…
The personnel at the Silver Spring branch made me waste my time offering one amount in the phone and then low-balling me in person. They insulted me with an offer of $100 when the battery (which is new) alone cost me $140. Their trick is to allure you with an offer and then not honor it.

Our website provides an online valuation estimate, not an offer. It is generated entirely from the information provided by the customer, and in your case no issues were disclosed. Our firm offer is based on the market value of the vehicle after a professional, in-person appraisal, which establishes its verified condition. That appraisal documented more than a dozen issues that had not been disclosed, including:
- Worn front and rear brake discs and pads, leaving the vehicle unsafe to drive
- A rough-running engine
- A cracked windshield
- A cracked rear bumper
- Rust to the rear quarter panel and tailgate
- Poor previous repairs to the driver's door and fender
- An inoperable driver's window
- Multiple dents, scratches, and chips across the body
Our diagnostic scan also returned an active fault code, P0420 (catalyst system efficiency below threshold), and your vehicle's Experian AutoCheck history shows a previous accident on record. Altogether, the reconditioning required ran into the thousands of dollars, which is why the in-person figure was substantially lower than the online estimate.
We invite all customers to join the appraisal process so they can see what we see and understand how a vehicle's condition affects its valuation.
On the new battery, we understand the frustration. We purchase and resell vehicles as whole vehicles rather than for parts, so a single recently replaced component does not raise the overall market value of a vehicle, particularly one that is not in a safe, road-worthy condition.
