Would have been 5 stars except for the fact that I had to pay a $299 transaction / documentation fee when all I did was sign title over to WBAC. I understand paying a fee on the purchase of a car which involves tags etc., but not on the sale. Purchaser [WBAC] should be responsible for any paperwork, especially a company that purchases used cars. However transaction went smoothly and the GM Darrius was polite, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to deal with.
Simple process if you are looking to sell your can without much effort
Easy, straightforward process. Javier was very friendly and explained the process well. Loss of one star due to Webuyanycar's document fee and reconditioning fee policies; neither of which were indicated in the initial valuation of the car. We were able to reach an agreement that worked for each of us.

Go somewhere else
When I first went to WeBuyAnyCar in Pine Brook, NJ the manager was very nice, gave me a decent price and the process didn't take too long. Unfortunately, that was the good part. When my wife went back several weeks later to get an updated price she was told there would be a $1k reconditioning fee deducted from the price of the car. That's a pretty big piece of information to leave out when making an offer. If they gave you a print out like most of their competitors then this miscommunication probably could have been avoided. But they are probably worried that then they will lose the business. Either way they lost mine and I'd recommend everyone else to just go to a company that is more upfront about their offer.
Update - The car was physically inspected by the manager during both visits (and nothing changed on the car in between the visits). I understand that used car prices change over time but the $1000 fee was never mentioned during the first visit. If you are looking for the best price for your car without any hidden fees go elsewhere. There are much better competitors to webuyanycar.

Easy
We sold our 2017 Ford Edge due to downsizing. We received a starting price online and set up an appointment to have it examined. After it was test driven and examined, the small deduction was made from the starting price, plus a service fee. The amount was acceptable, we turned over the title, signed the paperwork and received a check. Very easy!
The Sales Transaction of My Car
It was too long outside on a very hot day for a 91 year old man. The transaction should have been inside.
I was blind sided by a fee of $300.00 that I was not informed about.
But the agent had significant problems with the computer and transmission equipment. He was very patient and courteous.

Returned Check
On July 26th , I contacted the local “WeBuyAnyCar” branch with the hopes of a seamless process in selling my car. After a brief inspection of my vehicle, I agreed to sell my car for the price that was quoted. The sales associate provided me with a check and I deposit that check into my local bank account the same day.
UPDATE:
On August 2nd I received communication from my bank that the check I deposit from "WeBuyAnyCar" had been returned. I also was giving a return check fee.
I called and wrote emails to the local branch sale associate ( that I previously worked with) informing him the check had bounced. I never got a response.
I then called the national customer service number (Delaware) and informed them of my situation. The customer service rep confirmed that check had not been cashed and stated the funds were available. He then suggested I contact my bank and ask for them to reprocess the check. I refused and stated that check had been returned and I already had been assessed a return check fee. I told them I wouldn’t feel comfortable returning with the same check and ask for it to be reprocessed.
I then asked if I could have a cashier check or money order. They customer rep refused and stated that I would have to return to the local branch and be issued another check.
I contacted the local branch and informed them of conversation I had with customer service. The local branch informed me that they could not re-issue me a check and referred me to a “regional manager”
Once on the phone with the regional manager , he investigated my issue and agreed with customer service that another check would need to be issued. I pushed back saying that I already had been burned once and really didn’t want to go through this again. He a stated that he could not provide a cashier check or money order, but I could take it to their bank ( Truist), and I could cash it the same day. Reluctantly, I agreed to do this.
I then contacted the local branch to set up a time to pick up the check. Once I arrived the local branch, they already had the check waiting for me. I took the check and attempted to cash it at their bank ( 1 mile away). After waiting in line for 20 minutes - I was told that the check could not be cashed. The funds were not available.
I was pissed off and called the regional manager back and informed in of the situation. He then told me that he would call his accounting department to resolve. The manager told me that his accounting department manually entered the check in the system and the funds would be available within minutes.
I informed him that I would try again at a banking branch closer to my home in an hour or two. Giving them enough time to resolve whatever issues that had going on.
I went to back to their bank maybe 90 minutes later. Differently branch , same bank. Once there…I was asked if I had tried to cash this check previously. I stated yes and was asked to have a seat while they investigated. 45 minutes later… the bank rep came and apologized to me for the wait but stated that she had to call and verify that the check was good AND confirm that it was issued to me. In the end I had to pay a fee to cash the check at their bank because I wasn’t a member, and I didn’t get refunded my returned check fee. Not to mention spending half a day dealing with this.
This company advertises selling your car in 3 easy steps. Easy? I agreed to sell my car on July 26th , 2022 and didn’t get paid until August 8th,2022. Not the mention the back n forth between sales reps , regional managers, driving back to the local branch and banks just to get my check. What kind of company cuts a check that funds are not available for? Happened to me TWICE. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. Stay away.
UPDATED 8/19/2022:
Almost immediately after I posted my review I was contacted by (Area Manager-Tampa). He apologized for my experience and explain that he would be overnighting a payment to me to cover the return check fees and an additional $50 for my inconvenience. He followed up once again to ensure I received the check and to again apologize for my experience. I want thank the Tampa Area Branch Manager for hearing my concerns and giving what he could to rectify the situation. I was bold enough to publicly voice my dissatisfaction in their customer service....I also man enough to voice my appreciation to the attention they gave to correct to situation.
That's 5 STAR Customer Service in my opinion!!!!

They did Buy It but I didn't get what I wanted
I was estimated to get almost 1600$ from Website estimate but it did not mention the 219$ Document fee or the deduction for not being able to find the ODB connector. so they only gave us 1/2 of the estimate.
Very professional!
Very professional and there is a $299 administrative fee to do the paperwork which isn’t listed on the website. Only took an hour for the inspection and to receive check. Highly recommend the Garner location.
it was what was advertised
it was what was advertised. there was paperwork fee for title change that i hadn't thought of , but is a fact.

Although I got less back for.my car than I had hoped, WeBuyAnyCar was well organized, courteous, and hassle fee.
Al was AWESOME
Al was AWESOME.
However, YOU ( as in we buy any cars) needs to disclose somewhere that there is a $299 fee associated with selling the car. AND the offer online was much more than the actual offer
Overall we were satisfied with the…Fast Service!
Overall we were satisfied with the service but felt a little blindsided about the process fee. It was not disclosed until we completed all of the paperwork. Wish we were told up front . This is my only negative about the process.
Best place to sell your vehicle hands…
Best place to sell your vehicle hands down. My experience was so smooth. No pressure at all, or hidden fee. Debbie was so wonderful to work with. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fair price.
Watch out for “document fee”
Rich Green, the associate who helped us. was great, I give him highest marks. I subtract one star only because the pricing was not as transparent as I felt it should be. We were almost to the end of the process before we were told there was a $299 “document fee.” Also, the paperwork was absolutely excessive. It turned what should have been a quick and easy process into o protracted one and I came away feeling that I would have liked to know about the “document fee” earlier in the process. That fee is totally arbitrary and just a cut for the company.
Cheryl did a great job explaining the…
Cheryl did a great job explaining the process thoroughly took just about an hour and a half easy Peezy.
One thing I would suggest to management is notify the customer way before the end of the process that there’s a $295 service fee I understand there’s a cost involved would’ve liked to know that in advance.
The administration fee of almost $300…
The administration fee of almost $300 was a surprise and should be no mention in all tv and radio ads. Customers should not be charged this so-called fee when they are selling their vehicle. Furthermore, my estimate was reduced over $1200 for some insane reason.
Justin and Jerome were more than fair…
Justin and Jerome were more than fair and corporate for giving me what I received for my 08 Chevy HHR with 80,311 original miles on the odometer. The process was easy relaxed and customer service was outstanding. They let you walk with them while the appraisal is being done and also when they test drive the vehicle.
P.S. In the end I walked out with a $2800 check deposited in my bank the same day. It was within Kelly Blue Book figures. Remember when trading or selling a vehicle unless private sale you have to remember they have to resell your vehicle as well and make a profit. There process eliminates the hassle of dealing with strangers in the world we live in now not knowing who is coming to your home and any issues with the vehicle once they take possession. Their corporate checks are written on BB&T so getting it cashed or deposited isn't an issue. There is a $$$$ Processing Fee but it's deducted so what you are approved for is what you get.
Thanks again

Everything went well
Everything went well. My car was quoted $5700 when Inputted into the webuyanycar website, however, when Justin looked it over the price I was quoted was $3600 when the car was onsite, then there was a document fee of $299. So my bottom number that I got was $3301. I guess I was ok with that and walked away with a check of $3301. Justin explained the seat armrest was damaged a little, there was one little smaller then a dime size spot with rust and maybe some issues with paint on the side door. I also explained when I got my car inspected in Oct. they told me there was some rust on the back frame of the car. In all honestly, I told Justin that which may have brought the price down a bit as well. In summary, I was ok with trade, Justin was pretty good explaining all the paperwork and handling our deal. I would do it again if in that position.
EXCELLENT Experience
The process was easy, not complicated at all. The branch manager, Debra, was super friendly and we could not have asked for a better person to work with!! I would definitely recommend WBAC to anyone looking to sell their car because of the positive experience that we had. The only issue that we had, was after the sale, our bank put a 7 day hold on the check that we were issued, so we still don’t have access to the money that we were paid for the car. There should be some type of way for the consumer to be able to have easier access to the money once they sell their vehicle. Maybe a recommended check cashing place that y’all have made arrangements with in advance, that will cash these checks, at no-cost, to the consumer, or maybe for a small pre-determined fee (low cost). Just something, so everyone, won’t encounter this issue. It’s almost like I’ve loaned my car out for a test drive, and I’ll get paid for it in 9 days once your check clears. The two days you’ve already had it, plus the seven more I have to wait until I actually get the money for it. Other than that, this has been a GREAT experience and we would definitely do it again.
