Stress-Free Experience

After spending most of a day running back and forth to CarMax, even though I had an express appointment with relevant information provided in advance, they subsequently told me that the car had to go through probate before they could purchase it. So I contacted your company and talked to Josiah initially who had Patrick, the manager, call me back within the hour. He explained the sales process thoroughly and addressed my concerns about the legal aspects.

Josiah came to my house the very next day, inspected the vehicle, and prepared the paperwork. He also explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions. It was a quick, thorough, and efficient process from start to finish, and I didn't even need to leave the house! The car was picked up the next day.
Patrick, Josiah, and staff are to be commended for a job well done, and they deserve more than five stars.

Easy initial online evaluation and scheduling same day appointment. Monia was very good, very pleasant, very kind, and thorough. We got the best offer compared to Carmax and AutoNation. We got payment via Zelle in 10 minutes. The whole process took an hour.

Firstly, I was treated with professionalism by Jerry. My main complaint was with the process. I was given an online quote of $7435. After an intense inspection of the 26 year old car I was quoted $4500. When I advised that Carmax had offered $6000 Jerry worked and got me $6000. I listed the vehicle honestly. I feel that I was baited with the price knowing full well that would not be the final number. Again, Jerry was great, the process is deceptive to me.

Hi Larry,

Thank you for taking the time to speak with our Area Manager today. We appreciate your honest feedback that the appointment took far longer than it should have, and we have shared it with the team in Indian Trail so the process is quicker for the customers who follow you.

If there is ever anything more we can do, our Customer Experience Team is always here for you at customerfeedback@webuyanycarusa.com.

Hi Larry,

You had other options for selling your car, and we are grateful you brought it to our Indian Trail branch and chose to sell it to us. A three-star rating tells us the team who looked after you there fell short of the five-star experience we set out to provide on every appointment, and for that we apologize.

Our online valuation is an estimate, not an offer, and both our website and your valuation email state that clearly. It is calculated from the information submitted online, and your car was described as having no issues at all. Resale data on a 26-year-old sports car is limited, so our technical pricing experts were involved in reviewing its overall condition against the market. The offer itself is set only once a professional, in-person appraisal has confirmed the verified condition of the vehicle, and on your appointment that appraisal identified:

- Dents in both rear quarter panels
- Scratching to the trunk lid

Every seller is welcome to join our team for the appraisal and see what we see, so the condition behind the number is never a mystery.

We're pleased we were able to make you an offer in line with the other competitive quotes you had received. We operate a zero-pressure policy and never want a customer to feel they had to sell. If you've had a change of heart, please reach out to our Customer Experience Team at customerfeedback@webuyanycarusa.com. We will do everything humanly possible to make it right. We have also escalated your experience to the Area Manager responsible for the team in Indian Trail, who is investigating and will be reaching out to you directly. A five-star experience is what every customer is owed, and we are committed to seeing that you get one.

Warmest regards,

Jeremy, on behalf of webuyanycar.com

We Buy Any Car made the experience of selling my car extremely easy. They offered me the best price over CarMax and Carvana. They did offer me a little less once I came into the office (which I expected) but we settled on a fair price.

Efficient & Smooth

I like how efficient and smooth the whole transaction was. I looked it up on website and found this buyer, they offer a comparatively better price than Carmax and Carvana for older cars. From the time I run the estimated price on its website to I actually got my check, it took less than 3 hours. Thank you.

We weren't able to change the outcome, and we understand you see the valuation differently. We stand by the in-person appraisal and the explanation we shared earlier, but we're genuinely sorry the figure didn't meet what you'd hoped for.

If you'd like to discuss this further, our door is open. You can reach us directly at customerfeedback@webuyanycarusa.com. We wish you all the best.

Hi Pamela,

We're sorry your experience didn't reflect the five-star customer service experience that webuyanycar.com is famed for, and we understand the change in figure was frustrating.

The most important point to explain is this: the high figure you first saw online was generated for a 2005 model, while your car is in fact a 1995, a full ten years older. In valuation terms that is effectively a completely different car, and it is the main reason the online figure and our offer were so far apart. Our online valuation is an estimate, not an offer, and it is generated entirely from the information provided by the customer when a vehicle is submitted. Once we confirmed the details directly from the VIN, the estimate was corrected to reflect the vehicle you actually own.

From there, the offer reflects the verified condition of the vehicle after a professional, in-person appraisal. That appraisal identified condition issues that were not reflected in the online estimate, including a brake fault requiring repair, four tires that needed replacing, and cosmetic paint damage across multiple panels. We invite all customers to join the appraisal process so they can see what we see and understand how a vehicle's condition affects its valuation.

We're sorry the final figure fell short of what you hoped for, and we respect your decision not to sell.

We take your feedback very seriously and have logged a formal complaint on your behalf. The Area Manager responsible for our team in Broomfield is investigating and will be reaching out to you directly to discuss your experience and find a way to restore your faith in webuyanycar.com.

Our team works to deliver a five-star experience for every customer, and we'd welcome the opportunity to do the same for you.

This company's offer was the lowest in the market, basically an straight insult to even mention this. They offered $6000 below CarMax, Carvana and a local dealer.
Just wasted an hour of my time for them to take 100 pictures and recordings. I thought this was an ok company but changed my mind and never will go back again. BTW for those local the location is in a old strip mall in Melbourne.

Hi ArthurV,

Thank you for taking our team's call to discuss your experience. We're sorry that we couldn't meet your expectations on price.

We did check what CarMax had offered, and our final offer was very well positioned by comparison. If the sale to them doesn't work out for any reason, we would be glad to assist.

Our team in Melbourne, FL has earned a 4.9-star rating across 542 verified customer reviews on Trustpilot (https://www.trustpilot.com/review/webuyanycarusa.com/location/melbourne-fl). Those reviews reflect the experience we work to deliver at every appointment and we're sorry that our team was unable to provide you with the same legendary customer service experience on this occasion.

If anything remains unresolved, our Customer Experience Team would welcome the chance to hear from you directly at customerfeedback@webuyanycarusa.com.

Hi ArthurV,

Thank you for choosing webuyanycar.com and for taking the time to share your feedback following your visit to our Melbourne, FL location. We're sorry to hear that our offer didn't meet your expectations.

Our online valuation is based on the information provided by the customer. The final offer reflects the verified condition and history of the vehicle after a professional, in-person appraisal. In this case, our appraisal identified two findings that materially impacted resale value:

• Our diagnostic tool detected that the vehicle's trouble codes had been recently cleared prior to your appointment, which raises concerns about underlying issues that may have been masked
• The vehicle's history report showed prior accident damage with diminished value, which carries through to the wholesale and retail market regardless of repair quality

The photographs and documentation taken during your appointment are part of our standard appraisal process. We document every vehicle thoroughly so that our offers are defensible, transparent, and tied to verifiable condition findings rather than guesswork. We invite all customers to join the appraisal process so they can see what we see and understand how a vehicle's condition affects its valuation.

Regarding the offers you received elsewhere — we genuinely cannot speak to how other buyers arrive at their numbers. We have nothing to gain by undervaluing a vehicle. We are a buyer in a competitive market with thousands of branches, and our valuations are guided by national market data, vehicle history, and the in-person inspection. If we cannot make a competitive offer on a given car, that is the right outcome for both sides and we never want a customer to feel pressured to sell.

We're sorry we couldn't reach an agreement on this occasion. If you'd like to discuss your experience further, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Customer Experience Team at customerfeedback@webuyanycarusa.com.

We'd welcome the opportunity to earn your business in the future. This review has been escalated to our leadership team and our Area Manager will be reaching out to you directly to see how we can address your concerns and restore your trust in We Buy Any Car.

Warmest regards,
Kevin, on behalf of webuyanycar.com

Got an offer online for $6,300 for my 2016 Chevrolet Cargo Van that is in very good condition. Once the Con Man got to my home and completed his inspection, he stated that they would buy my van for $100! Yes, you heard correctly. $100! I told him to "get lost". After leaving my home, the Con Man called and stated that now they will buy my van for $2,500! SCAMMERS!!

Just wanted to add that CarMax picked up this same vehicle 4 days later for $5,600!! Once again, stay away from these SCAMMERS!!

Hi Joi,

We're sorry to hear that your appointment didn't deliver the five-star customer service experience that webuyanycar.com is famed for. We've reviewed the details and want to respond to what you've described.

Our website provides a valuation estimate, not an offer. It is generated entirely from the information provided by the customer, and it reflects neither a vehicle's recorded history nor its verified condition. In your case, no condition issues were disclosed during the online valuation, and our valuation estimate was therefore generated for a van in good condition, as represented by the customer. Our offer is always based on the market value of a vehicle after completing a professional appraisal which forms the basis of our offer. That appraisal surfaced significant undisclosed issues with the van.

Your vehicle's Experian AutoCheck history discloses:

- A stolen-and-recovered event
- Three documented accident reports

Our buyer's professional, in-person appraisal documented eighteen specific condition issues, including:

- An illuminated airbag warning light
- Structural damage which must be disclosed to any prospective buyer
- An inoperative passenger door
- A ripped headliner
- A damaged driver's seat
- A damaged driver's seat belt
- Four tires below tread depth
- Damaged side mirrors (both housing and glass)
- A damaged rear-view mirror
- Missing power locks
- Damaged vents
- Dents on three separate body panels

None of these were reflected in the online estimate because none of them were disclosed.

We invite all customers to join the appraisal process so they can see what we see and understand how a vehicle's condition affects its valuation.

After the appraisal concluded, our technical team reviewed the detailed appraisal notes, photographs, vehicle history, and diagnostics before presenting an offer in line with the vehicle's market value given its true condition and history. That figure was thousands of dollars, but meaningfully below your expectation, and we respect your decision not to sell.

We take feedback like yours seriously and have logged a formal complaint on your behalf. The Area Manager responsible for our team in West Palm Beach is investigating and will be reaching out to you directly to discuss your experience and find a way to restore your faith in webuyanycar.com.

Warmest regards,

Jeremy, on behalf of webuyanycar.com

The organization and the process is a waist of time.
You are better off going to the dealership or Carmax for your appraisal.
They would offer you a large amount online and cut it into half when you eventually take your car.
It's a no no process if you really value your time.

Update 5/24/2026

Hi Adewale,

Thank you for taking our follow-up call earlier this week. We hear you on the communication point — when a vehicle's title brand drives most of the gap between the online estimate and the in-person offer, that context should be surfaced clearly and early in the process, not at the end. We're carrying that feedback back to the branch.

To restate what Nicholas walked through: we do buy rebuilt and salvage-title vehicles, but the offer reflects the salvage-adjusted market value rather than the clean-title online estimate. That's not a pricing trick — it's the reality of how the title brand affects what the vehicle is worth in the secondary market. Your CarMax comparison sits in roughly the same band, which corroborates the figure rather than contradicting it.

If anything else comes up, you're always reachable at customerfeedback@webuyanycarusa.com.

Warmest regards,

Jeremy, on behalf of webuyanycar.com

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Hi Adewale,

The gap you're describing between our online estimate and the offer you received at the branch has a specific cause, and we owe both you and any reader of this review a clear picture of what happened.

Our online valuation is an estimate based on the information provided by the customer. In your case, our online tool asked you directly whether the vehicle had ever been involved in an accident, and you answered no. You also chose not to provide the VIN, which is the single piece of information that would have allowed us to independently verify the vehicle's history before quoting. Working from what you told us, our system returned an estimate consistent with a clean-history 2022 Honda Odyssey.

When you brought the vehicle to our High Point branch, the actual title history surfaced during the professional, in-person appraisal: a salvage title issued in New Jersey in August 2024 following an insurance total loss, and a current rebuilt title issued in North Carolina earlier this year. The vehicle's AutoCheck record shows multiple accident reports, including damage classified as disabling. This vehicle is also listed on the internet as having been sold at IAAI, an insurance salvage auction, and the listing includes photographs showing the severity of the damage that resulted in the insurer declaring it a total loss: https://bid.cars/en/lot/0-39021982/2022-Honda-Odyssey-5FNRL6H77NB059669

This is not a question of process. No professional buyer will pay clean-vehicle pricing for a vehicle with a salvage and rebuilt title history. The figure you saw online was a direct product of the answers you provided. The figure you received at the branch reflected the verified condition of the vehicle.

We take feedback seriously and have logged a formal complaint on your behalf. The Area Manager responsible for the team in Charlotte is investigating and will be reaching out to you directly to discuss your experience. Our team works to deliver a five-star experience for every customer, and we'd appreciate the opportunity to do the same for you.

Warmest regards,

Jeremy, on behalf of webuyanycar.com

2018 Jaguar experience

Input the data for my 2018 Jaguar F-type. Received an attractive appraisal of $21,000 from the Fayetteville, NC location. Scheduled the onsite visit the next day. Received a call that office computer was down. but they could do their mobile service could come to my house to do the final appraisal. The person arrived on schedule the next day and was very professional. Took almost 30 minutes to do the appraisal and offered $16,000 explaining that they thought my car was a 6 cylinder versus the tubo 4 cylinder. What a scam since the VIN they had would clearly indicate the engine size. When I rejected the offer they upped it to $16,500 which was still below CarMax offer. I said thanks but no thanks and sold the car to an excellent used car dealer in Durham, NC. My experience suggests their online appraisal is simply a scam.

Update 04/25/26 - After posting my origianl crtical review WBAC did respond suggesting that they did not have access to the VIN in order to know the Jaguar was 4 cylinder versus 6. I appreciate their prompt responce but find it still suspicious in that the VIN was provided in their online website in order to get their initial estimate. If they chose not to use the VIN to reveal info about the car, that is, to me, very poor business practice. They had the VIN in their system for approx 48 hours prior to the onsite appraisal. So to give them the benfit of the doubt I will increase my review rating to 3 stars. If

Reply from We Buy Any Car® USA

Hi Sylvia,

Thank you for choosing webuyanycar.com and for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent mobile buyer appointment. We take allegations of scam-like behavior very seriously and want to address your concerns directly, because the facts here tell a different story than the one you've described.

Our online valuation tool provides an estimate based on the information entered by the customer. In your case, the online valuation was generated using the drop-down menus on our website and did not include the VIN. Unless the VIN was provided to us over the phone, we would not have had access to it until our buyer arrived at your home — and for transparency, we can pull the recordings of any calls between you and our team to confirm what was and was not shared.

During the online valuation, the trim selected was "2018 Jaguar F-Type Coupe 2D Base," which corresponds to the 3.0L V6 supercharged model. When our buyer arrived and decoded the VIN, it confirmed the vehicle is actually the "2018 Jaguar F-Type Coupe 2D 2" — the 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder (the P300 trim). These are two meaningfully different vehicles with very different market values.

You are absolutely right that the VIN clearly indicates the engine size — and that is precisely how the trim mismatch was identified. Our team did not "think" your car was a 6-cylinder; the online valuation had been generated on the assumption that it was, based on the trim that was selected. Once the VIN confirmed the correct trim, the valuation was adjusted to reflect the actual vehicle. This is the opposite of a scam — it is the system working as intended to prevent a customer from being offered a price based on the wrong vehicle.

We also noted that a duplicate title is required for this transaction, which carries a small fee and was factored into the final offer.

We invite all customers to join the appraisal process so they can see what we see and understand how a vehicle's specifications and condition affect its valuation. Our team should have walked you through the trim correction clearly at the appointment so you could see exactly why the valuation changed.

We take your feedback very seriously and have logged a formal complaint on your behalf. The Area Manager responsible for our team in your area, Roshunda Thompson, is investigating and will be reaching out to you directly to discuss your experience and find a way to restore your faith in webuyanycar.com. If you'd like to share anything further in the meantime, please don't hesitate to contact our Customer Experience Team at customerfeedback@webuyanycarusa.com.
