Very disappointing and unacceptable experience.
I ordered a product and paid for it in full, and I was happy with the item itself. However, without my knowledge or clear consent, €28 started being deducted from my account every week. I never knowingly agreed to any paid subscription. This feels misleading and unfair to customers. Charging people without proper and transparent consent seriously damages trust. I hope the company addresses this issue honestly and stops such practices in the future.

for your own good do not buy this book, they are scammers, fraud, you buy a book and they keep charging you every month. I never agreed to anything subscriptions or digital service but they have gone ahead to charge me every month. they refuse to do a refund, i have taken it up with my bank and the ombudsmen, this people are total thieves be ware.

Avoid this company
Avoid this company. Ordered the book, and the book only, and they deceptively bundle it with their app. App charged for after their "trial" period. After checking to cancel a subscription that I never signed up for, there is no way to cancel it without contacting them directly. Having never downloaded their app until trying to cancel it and never using it, they refuse a refund. Extremely deceptive and scammy business model, take your business elsewhere.
Support well do nothing. Don't bother as it will frustrate you more.

I purchased a “Welcome Baby” book after it was advertised as a hardcover product. What I received was soft cover, which did not match the advertising.
After this purchase, I was enrolled into a recurring subscription without my informed consent, billed via PayPal under the name EFFECTO, at £24.59 per month. I do not use this app, it is not installed on my phone, and I did not knowingly agree to any subscription.
The following amounts were taken or attempted:

£24.59 on 9 December 2025
£24.59 on 9 January 2026

Total: £161.35
There was no clear, prominent disclosure at checkout that a paid subscription would be created, and no meaningful reminder or confirmation before recurring charges were taken. When contacted, the company relies on “terms and conditions” rather than addressing the lack of informed consent.
After experiencing this, I checked other reviews and found many customers reporting the same issue: confusing checkout, unexpected subscriptions, and refusals to refund.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company. If you are considering purchasing, read the 1-star reviews carefully before proceeding.

Feels Like a Bait-and-Switch: False Advertising and Hidden Costs
This experience has been deeply disappointing and misleading from start to finish.
After placing my order, I never received a physical book, nor did I ever receive a digital copy of the book. Despite this, support later claimed that “digital goods were delivered,” which is simply not true.
The only email I received after purchase was an automated message about the Welcome Baby app, including login instructions. There was no email, link, or download provided for a digital book at any point. The app subscription was later canceled by Welcome Baby themselves, further contradicting their claim that digital goods were delivered.
Additionally, Welcome Baby advertises the book as a hardcover, yet after purchase I was told all books are paperback by default and that hardcover is an upgrade handled after checkout. This makes no sense and should be clearly disclosed at the time of purchase. If hardcover exists, it should be an option during checkout—not revealed later.
The checkout experience is confusing and misleading:
The book is presented as the paid product
The app and ebook are shown as free
There is no clear indication that a customer is not purchasing the physical book
Post-purchase, customers are told they must pay more to receive what they reasonably believed they already bought
Despite no physical book shipped, no digital book delivered, and a canceled app subscription, support has refused to issue a full refund and instead offered only a partial refund based on products that were never actually provided.
This feels like a combination of poor UX, misleading advertising, and unacceptable customer service. I would strongly caution other parents to think twice before ordering.
