Good until I needed support

Signed up for a credit card via Wells for the good rewards. Card was fine for the better part of a year.
This month, I got hit with fraudulent charges that the system automatically detected and prompted me to confirm or report for fraud. Done. Shut down the account and open a new one.

From the call on which I filed my claim to now, I have had trouble:

1. Rep A saw pending Cash Advance charges on top of my original fraud transaction and sent me to Rep b to sort it out.
2. Rep B Saw no Cash advances and sent me on my way.

3. Original fraud was added to my new account. (later refunded)
4. Fraud transaction was duplicated, now showing twice on my new account. (later refunded)

5. Mystery Cash Advances fee #1 seen/not seen by Reps A and B now posted my account 5 days later. Called to flag those as part of my fraud claim. (later refunded)
6. Mystery Cash Advance Fee #2 posts to my account 2 days later. (not refunded at this time)
-> It is at this point that I called and requested for the account to be closed.

7. 10 Business Days from my original Claim, I get an interest charge on one of my fraudulent Cash Advances. (not Refunded at this time)

So, over the course of 5 calls and a total of 2 hours and 45 mins, here I am waiting for the claims to settle so I can pay off my card and move on with life.
To further obscure things, the "View Claims" button in App and Web shows me nothing about all the hard work above.

I understand that Credit cards and transaction cycles take time, but my experience with Wells Fargo's Credit division has left me coming back for answers multiple times, and never receiving a full, clear picture as to what was happening with my claims, leaving me with $1,700+ in charges hanging over my head.

DO NOT BANK WITH WELLS FARGO!!

DO NOT BANK WITH WELLS FARGO!!! I have been a customer for over 10 years, I had someone get my debit card information and stole quite a bit of money from me literally leaving my account with a zero balance. Their answer is to wait up to 10 days with NO money. I've not really ever dealt with fraud but once in over 10 years, but this is their customer service. I would advise anyone and everyone to steer totally clear of this bank!!! Should anything like this happen to you, they'll leave you and your family hurting too without a single care to locate the truth and fix the issue in a timely manner. Not only that, customer service and management will repeatedly hang up on you, even if you're being calm and just asking questions to gain understanding and try and expedite the help. I will be switching banks as soon as possible!!!

Wells Fargo stole from me

Wells Fargo stole from me. $1311,74. Their employee stated that they sued me for a cc that I was making payments on until they closed it. I was finally able to get on payment plan to start paying off the card. I am under a financial hardship and informed them and was paying when I could. I was not given any notice, no communication, no phone call, no email starting anything had changed. Just last week they took $1311.74 out of my account which was my rent money. My landlord had to wait until I got paid again! i called to customer service and they were horrific.

When I call, I get someone who has a hard time speaking English. When I ask to get transferred to the US, I get someone who lazy ass American with an attitude, or some hood rat.. it’s like it’s a set up and they are never going to transfer the balance so you can take advantage of the 0%… I’ll be calling g the Federal Trade Commission and filing a complaint. Where is my debit card?

I've been banking with WF for a few years and I really never had any issues until my bank account was hacked and I needed to get another debit card. It's been almost a month and I have not received a card. As a matter of fact, the first one was canceled in the app by WF because it never arrived. The second one was supposed to arrive yesterday, but it never did. So I ordered another one today. Luckily, the new cards were available for use in the wallet feature, if it were not for that I would have been really screwed.

Fraud protection is a joke.

I received a text from Wells Fargo questioning a card transaction. I replied that I did not recognize it. WF did not immediately cancel my card or contact me. I finally got hold of their fraud department. Turns out that transaction was from several days before. Card still active. While I'm on the phone with them, they said oh by the way did you make this other transaction? No. How about this one? No. This one? No. What about this one from today, a cash advance on your WF card from your personal bank? - Wait a minute...the person using my WF card credentials hacked into my bank? Today? And there are no alerts? And what about those other 7 charges you asked if I recognized? No alerts on those either?? Just the one alert about the one charge 2 days after the fact??? Unbelievable. Even more unbelievable - WF STILL has not blocked my card and account!! No newly issued card coming.
Buhh- bye Wells Fargo.

Do NOT fall for the One Key Mastercard…

Do NOT fall for the One Key Mastercard featured on Expedia. It’s completely deceiving. They do a hard credit check and you won’t get the card immediately. A total waste of time and loss in credits points. Never again! They purposely make you fall for it. Should have known Wells Fargo is behind it.

Ask as many questions as you can

I’m executor of my father in law’s will and trust. For 6 months I have tried to jump through hoops to satisfy the legal requirements to be put on as POA to take care of his accounts. Finally got the letter that satisfied them and it still wasn’t enough. Now he passed and it’s about to cost a lot of money to probate the will instead of having it in the trust protected. Very disappointed in this financial institution and will never have my own accounts there.

Zero stars do not recommend

Would rate less but not an option. This is particularly for their card services. I was with Wells Fargo for years with my home mortgage, about 12 or so, before they sold to another company. The mortgage was under my maiden name.

AFTER the mortgage was sold, I opened a credit card under Wells Fargo. Under my married name. Zero issues opening a line of credit. No problems verifying identify etc. Even lost my card and they sent another. No problems verifying identify.

Get the card, activate it and notice I don’t see my account on the Wells Fargo app. No matter how many times I called, whatever I tired. I could not see the account or my balance. I finally had a banker tell me it was due to having a mortgage under a different name with Wells Fargo……

The one they SOLD. To ANOTHER COMPANY. And had absolutely no issues opening a line of credit under my married name. I was told the only way I could “ fix this” was to visit a branch….. there are NONE in Kentucky. Or…. My only other option was to call in every time I wanted my balance or to make a payment….. or send snail mail.

Make it make sense. Absolutely not. Transferring to another card as we speak.

CRAZIEST SHIT I EVER HEARD

They are the worst bank ever. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I think they make up shit as the go. I have never heard of the stupid things they do. I closed an account they made me take a cashiers check instead of cash. 33.52 in the account. I said I wanted the cash and they told me they couldn't cash it because I didn't have two forms of ID. I gave them my license and bank card and they said the bank card was no good because it is closed, They used the same license and card to issue me the cashiers check. Craziest shit I ever heard, please save yourself the heartache, stay far away from Wells Fargo.

Low quality bank clerks/ low quality online banking

The bankers are always judgmental from every location I have visited if your account is not "currently" at an amount they believe to be worth their time. Constant online banking issues with mostly miscalculated funds from transactions and the lack of speed in processing those transactions. Most of the time the available balance does not coincide with the pending transactions at all.

Travel Dispute Mishandled by Wells Fargo – Poor Communication and No Accountability

I had a very disappointing experience with Wells Fargo regarding a credit card dispute for a travel service that was never delivered.

I booked two international airline tickets in April 2025 through Ovago using my Wells Fargo card ($2,611.82). I requested cancellation based on Ovago’s written quote and was repeatedly told I’d receive a refund of $1,672.92. The flights were never used, and Ovago canceled the tickets — not me.

Despite this, Wells Fargo classified the dispute as “canceled service” and denied the claim. I spoke with a representative from their Executive Office who said the case could be reopened for proper review — but I later received a denial letter that didn’t mention any of that.

The left hand doesn’t seem to know what the right hand is doing. The Executive Office and Disputes Department gave conflicting messages, and there’s been no timely or meaningful response to my follow-ups.

Wells Fargo has shown poor dispute resolution practices and internal breakdowns. I expected more from a major bank.

WDisappointed by New Deposit Hold Policy and Data Practicesells Fargo’s recent update to its…

Wells Fargo’s recent update to its Online Access Agreement feels like a step backward for customer trust. The change allowing them to delay availability of the first $400 of check deposits—even on the day of deposit—is unacceptable for those who rely on timely access to funds. It’s vague, discretionary, and undermines financial planning. On top of that, the expanded data collection and sharing—especially location tracking and web browsing history—raises serious privacy concerns. These updates were quietly rolled out with a “do nothing if you agree” approach, which feels dismissive of the customer experience. This erosion of transparency and convenience makes me reconsider that loyalty.
