The name says it all, we are a boiler specialist company based in westhill, aberdeenshire. With over 20 years of experience, there isnt many problems we have not seen, or been able to repair. Service, installations and repairs, we do it all.

Very bad experience

Unfortunately, my experience of Westhill Boiler Services has been less than satisfactory. I arranged for them to carry out a service on my elderly relative’s boiler prior to taking out a maintenance contract. We decided to go with their ‘Gold Plan’ which offered priority attendance to any call out. When in fact, we had a problem and requested an engineer to visit, they failed to do so. Over a couple of days and after several phone calls and emails to Westhill Boilers there was still no response. Unwilling to leave an 85 year old without heating or hot water we had to arrange for alternative help to get the boiler fixed. I have lost count of the amount of calls we have made to Westhill Boilers, each time being assured by the lady who answered the phone that she would pass the message onto Shaun, who to date has still to respond. Due to the disappointing and unprofessional manner of this company we informed them that we would be cancelling the contract and requested a refund of payments made to date. Again, there has been no response.

Bad experience trying to sign up

Bad experience trying to sign up to Westhill Boiler Services 'Platinum Plan'.

My current boiler and central heating plan were coming up for renewal, so decided to support a locally based service company instead of going with one of the 'giants'.

My contact for signing up was a Personal Assistant based in Kent. On 1st June I received emailed details of the plan. After a thorough review I decided to go ahead with it.

It was mutually agreed that the service would commence from 9th June, with the annual boiler service date set for 11th June. I made it clear that I would like to pay the full cost of the plan outright, instead of by monthly direct debit, this communicated both verbally and emphasized additionally in a follow up email, which also included the requested property details to complete the documentation for a contract start on 9th June.

My current servicing contract was due to terminate 9th June. On 8th June I had still not received the documentation. A telephone call to Westhill Boiler Services at 09:30am wasn't answered and went straight to an answering machine.

I immediately sent an 'Urgent' email asking why I hadn't heard anything and the reason for the delay. An hour later I received the following reply: "I am working with the Company that sets up the Service Plan details to set up the Annual plan policy as this is not a standard request, we do not have this option set at the moment. I am aware this is urgent for you and have been chasing them and have got a call-back to me this morning to get things set up."

I decided not to use Westhill Boiler Services having lost total confidence in the company, especially with no contact with the actual company itself, and having to work through an agent based in Kent.
