Scandalous
Scandalous, they take every opportunity to rip you off even if you take the insurance. Steer clear at all costs especially the Birmingham depot.
Don’t ever use this company
Don’t ever use this company! If you damage the car in anyway they never get back to you and ignore all communication to them. Leaving you with no damage report to claim from your excess insurance! They appear very helpful at the start whilst in person then you never hear from them again! Avoid at all costs!!!
NEVER USE THEM!!!
Don't even consider using them. Unless you sign up for insurance, they will scam you out of the deposit by claiming "new damage on the car was discovered". It doesn't matter if you take photos before and after, they will ignore your communication.
Wheego Scammers - kaunas airport - Be aware
Be aware! Same experience as many people are reporting in this site. They are scammers especially of international customers. They make up imaginary scratches (or others preexisting and recognized in the contract) so that they can charge for any amount they wish. In my case 1.500€. Even if you you have pictures/videos and you claim, they do not return the credit card deposit.
I am taking them to court and have started a refund claim to them through my bank.

Lady warned us as we arrived to be careful with them which we thought odd . We took full video of vehicle , on return we parked outside not thinking to do another video before asking them to look round. She walked round the front of the car , we now wonder with keys as we saw another guy doing this . Suddenly we had a mark on the bumper ...360 euros . Damage report has now been sent in Polish currency . All very dodgy indeed , stay clear.
Wheego is a no go scamming is a go go
I had booked a car using CarJet for pick up at Kaunas airport Lithuania. On arrival we made our way to the collection point the guy took details and then advised I would be getting an upgrade car he had checked the booking, driving licence and passport and requested my credit card he advised that the deposit would be 1700 euro. I advised I was not happy about this as I had been advised the deposit was much less. This seemed to annoy him and his mannerism changed. He was constantly clicking on his computer. He then informed me that I required an international driving permit and he could not help me. We had a discussion he then used the phone after several minutes he again started typing on his computer. He then stated that if I cancelled my booking and take a new one with him at 45 plus euro and 38 plus euro for car and insurance daily he could help. I stress that I found this concerning, that he was now saying he could hire without an idp. He was rude I stated that he was scamming me. The car hire company was wheego. I must say I have no faith in CarJet for having wheego on their books. Although I have to acknowledge that after over 30 mins on an international call to carjet I did get the insurance premium refunded. I have since looked at the feedback re wheego and it is very negative. I strongly advise that carjet review their association with this company. I ended up using another Brooker and was able to pickup a car from Alamo for similar money.
Scam from the start
Scam from the start , £83 quoted online that changed to £400 then I told them no so then we settled on £200
Do not trust these people just a few Asian blokes with no customer service skills
I had issues with one rental company
I had issues with one rental company, so I decided to book a rental car straight away from this place. They had told me I couldn't do it online, only directly with them, and quoted me a price of £130 for four days. I pointed out that online it showed £20, but he said that didn't matter. So I booked online and showed him that I had done so, but he told me it was no confirmation. I asked who would confirm it then, and he said the agency I booked from. I called the agency, and they told me that obviously the rental company confirms or denies. That guy lied. I asked for his name, and he thought for 10 seconds before saying it was Darius, if that's even true. (This interaction happened on October 31, 2025, around 13:00.)
Worst car rental experience I have ever…
Worst car rental experience I have ever had.
We rented a Toyota Yaris Cross with this company and, not only their customer service was below expected, but they were very rude and pushy towards selling their own insuance.
As we would only take the car in small drives, we did not take it.
We returned it with a 5-cm scratch on the rear bumper and they charged me EUR 935 to "supposedly" fix it. All I got was a completely overpriced quote for the services and materials (even though many did not need to be changed!) and they neither sent me any proof that they had got at least 3 quotes nor even had performed the repair.
Avoid at all cost
My flight was late
My flight was late. When I get 30min later to the place I need to call 11 times for the administrator to come to the place. Hour later I was saud that because I was later they do not have the car I booked. Even there were no one before me. So I have to pay more for a new car and by a new insurance. The man was very rude and spoke very unpolitely.
on returning the car they said there…
on returning the car they said there were scratches on it.. faint and they rubbed off with fingers and spit.. the charged me 199 gbp.. and then took 199 and 165gbp out of my bank account.
they said it should be returned as it left.. but they forgot about fair wear and tear.. robbers
DO NOT RENT WITH WHEEGO, SCAMMERS
I rented a car and took a video of the car, on return the man scrutinised the car and then called me over he tried to say that there was a scratch on the front bumper that wasn’t on the paperwork, I showed him the video with it on, he then went to the back boot door and showed me scratches that were not visible to the eye only when you put your hands over them , I thought it was dirt at first but he was scratching his fingers down them saying that they were raised, I looked at my video and they couldn’t be seen as it was not visible even looking at the car, there is no way that I caused them, as what would cause scratches on a boot door, anyway they took my £1050 deposit and now I have a damage report that I don’t even understand it’s for about £800 saying that they need to replace lights and bumper and all other things, surely there is something that you can do to this company, they are criminals.
Car was bad condition unsafe to drive.
Car was bad condition unsafe to drive.
Try to push in £160 insurance. We didn't pick up the car. Rented for £150 fully insured in rental next door.
I’m really disappointed with the rental service
I’m really disappointed with this car rental company. I made a booking and later tried to update the main driver’s details, but the customer service was completely unhelpful. When I called, their response was basically just “no… no… no…”—they didn’t offer any workable solution or even try to find a compromise.
The representative told me that if I wanted to change anything in the booking, I’d need to contact the company I booked through, as she couldn’t assist with any modifications. Since I booked via the Wizzair system, I reached out to them—but unfortunately, they weren’t helpful either.
Overall, this was the worst car rental experience I’ve had. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.
I received a fine whilst renting a car…
I received a fine whilst renting a car for speeding (20km/h) which a paid directly to the official places but wheego also charged me 150 euro plus 39 euro handling fee. Apparently the 150 euros are for aggressive driving behaviour ?!?
What ?????
Horrible worst place ever ! Always used sixt or Eurocrats and have never had any issues! Sadly easy jet automatobooking for car hire chose them on my behalf.
Be aware
Be aware! It is a company that scams especially international customers. They don’t offer full insurance coverage in order to scam with deductible that costs 900 Euro. Contracts that customers sign all in German so basically no one understands this “deductible”. They make up imaginary scratches so that they can charge for any amount they wish.
I am taking them to court.
Wheego scammers
When I hired the car they emailed me a damage report after I picked up the car. When I returned the car they found a 2cm superficial scratch that they claimed I did (I didn't)
They withheld my €900. Deposit to pay for the "damage". I have my own insurance policy which covers me for any excess. After months of asking for a bill they sent me a quote for €5000 which was ridiculous. I could have T cutted it out in less than 5 minutes. I asked for a revised bill but they are ignoring me. I am certain that everybody that hires that car gets charged for that scratch that you really can't see. Its now been 8 months and I'm no nearer getting my money back. Avoid these scammers.
Wheego Milan
Wheego Milan: Nogo. Our flight was delayed by 13 minutes because a bird flew into another plane on departure. Apparently, if you're 20 minutes late at the shuttle point (which is difficult to find and not where the other rental cars are at all) they give your car to someone else. No reimbursement eventhough we show up.
Scam.
Scammers
Unprofessional, rude, and dishonest.
(Málaga)
They were extremely pushy trying to sell me car insurance even though I already had one. They lied about what was included in my existing coverage, but I showed them written proof. They also charged me extra for fuel (even though I returned the car with a full tank) and for dropping the car off outside of opening hours, despite this being clearly included in the price. To top it off, they claimed I was responsible for anything that might happen to the car after I had returned it, which is absolutely absurd.
Avoid, avoid, avoid.
Wheego Malaga Spain a No Go!
Wheego Malaga Spain: Agressive pushing for adding an insurance, but we already had one! They charge250 euro for it, telling you that your insurance is not enough, but we already paid 200 on ours! They say if you don't take their insurance you have to pay 300 euro per call to them if you have problems. !!Also Tried to charge a damage on us, luckily we took photo's it was already there!! Slow pick up, and they don't pick up the phone. Anyway for us never again this one! best pay more at a decent company, will save you a lot of stress. Also not on airport you have to go by their van.
