Long-time user deeply disappointed
I’ve used WHMCS for over 10 years. It used to be a great product, stable, reliable, and decent support. Since the acquisition, the quality has steadily declined while prices have shot up. Bugs have gone unresolved for years, including one I personally reported multiple times. Instead of fixing existing issues, they add, IMO, useless new features.
Support is unhelpful, with canned responses. Like others, I paid for a lifetime license that was stripped away when they moved everyone to a subscription model.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I’ve had enough. The product no longer meets the standards expected of a paid service.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the outstanding support I received. Your assistance in resolving my WHMCS synchronization issue was greatly appreciated, and I truly value the effort put into finding a solution.

WHMCS offers outstanding customer…
WHMCS offers outstanding customer support—quick, responsive, and always ready to help with any issue. For more complex tasks, they also provide optional paid services, which can be a great help. While the platform itself can be challenging to navigate and does require a good deal of technical knowledge and setup time, the level of support more than makes up for it. Overall, I’m giving 5 stars thanks to their exceptional service and dedication to their customers.

Good on basics, fails on complex
Good on basics, fails on complex. We have been using WHMCS for a number of years now and have noticed the quality of support drops off a cliff when the questions become more complex. In the beginning you have simple questions, as your business grows you become more sensitive to bugs and issues that you can manage manually when smaller. As you hit more complex issues you usually have to go through 3 iterations of explaining to WHMCS that its not a simple answer, then eventually you get someone who understands the system and you go through another 3 iterations before you get one of two answers: 1) there is no solution; 2) its a bug, we've raised a ticket - and then it never gets fixed. Another problem is they prioritise new features over fixes to existing features, we suspect because the product is now such a patchwork of fudges and fixes they are no longer able to fix one thing without breaking another. We have started building a replacement platform because its got so bad. Its impossible to scale a business using this platform, its a good initial tool, but inadequate as you grow.
In reply to the vendor response below, here are a handful of the more recent issues not resolved to give some examples:
1. No solution provided: No way to accurately reflect Paypal subscriptions on invoices, creating double payment issues
2. No solution provided: Sitejet integration marketed heavily but solution is out of date and doesn't work
3. No solution provided: Render speed on base mobile css exceeds google target which impacts search results
4. Bug - not fixed: namespinner failing for some extensions
5. Bug - not fixed: two-letter domains do not resolve
6. No solution provided: invoice routing
7. No solution provided: WHMCS does not work on standard base Linux installations without also installing cpanel
8. No solution provided: SSL certificates not used within 90 days cannot be used and no refund is given
9. No solution provided: different translations intermittently appearing on a few fields in invoices despite normally appearing correctly
10. Bug - not fixed: EmailForwarding model doesn't display the correct prior data in the "original" array
11. Bug - not fixed: race condition between hosting provisioning and auto configuration of weebly

My WHMCS management system has been maliciously registered by accounts in the same region. How can I delete them? When I delete them, it shows that there are still associated accounts, but there is nothing on these accounts.

They gave me a working license after going up and down from business to business
All fine but the pricing is high
All fine but the pricing is high. Now, we know good things are not free but I would say, they overcharge because they are best in the business :( Otherwise, all fine & first-class
I love this app!
I love this app. I run my entire agency invoicing through this and i like the way it automates both domain and hosting renewals.
If you are new to hosting and billing automation software, WHMCS support is amazing!
I run multiple Plesk servers and wanted a billing system that worked with the least amount of setup and I didn’t want compromises. I tried a few other systems (upmind, FOSSBilling), and considered other paid solutions but there was always something missing or a strange quirk; one system wouldn’t allow me to backdate a package or void an invoice and remove it completely from the billing system.
After searching Reddit and Plesk’s community and seeing a lot of positive information about WHMCS, I contacted their support to see if my workflow would fit with their software. The pre-sales (and post-sales) support has been amazing and I’ve always received a quick response that is very clear to me (being so very new to this). Sure, their software isn’t the cheapest and they recently had another price increase BUT, after spending weeks fiddling with all the other systems out there, I was able to get WHMCS up and running in hours, and that is worth the extra expense alone!!!
I am still working on tweaking and adjusting things the way I want them to work but with WHMCS, I can do this and there are no compromises!
I was adding a configurable option
I was adding a configurable option, just finished adding 30 seperate options, clicked safe and got prompted to log back into my account. After logging in, I couldn't access the page anymore due to "Invalid CSRF Protection Token". All my progress was lost.
Owned License become bricks
I bought whmcs Owned License because its lifetime, when I invest them they were still "small" potential company", but now they've grown, they no longer value their loyal customerw anymore.
Addition info: my account no login for long time, now my account show nothing about the "Owned license“ I have purchased, neither old/legacy whmcs version nor transaction history! they have removed everything!!

From Good to really bad!
From Good to really bad!
We use WHMCS since many years and quite a while ago the price suddenly spiked by 10 times as what we paid prior.
In addition, if you need urgent help when migrating as we did, you wait days for a ticket reply and live chat tells you to move to ticket as it is too "complicated" for them.
Needless to say the pricing for hundreds of dollars and lack of support sucks big time.
But as they have no real competition they will continue to milk businesses until hopefully, someone comes along with a better product to a better price.
We currently considering switching to Wordpress and writing a backend ourselves as this is just more the bad.

It was a great product that came with…
It was a great product that came with good support. I purchased an owned licence to show my dedication and also because It was a good deal having a smaller amount to pay only for suport and updates. This initial funding allowed them to grow and sell themselves to webpros, a sharky bunch caring only for profits, cancelling support for owned license holders, even if this was promised on their website. Now they want clients to pay more if the small hosting company has more clients, but they do not offer any extra services it's the same license, just an arbitrary number above which you have to pay more. Also constant price increases yearly to make sure their profits are up, which people should not pay. There needs to be some rebalancing in this the more clients you have the more the license costs. For what? I recommend other much cheaper alternatives that have a long term support and pricing promise.

The Best Tech Support Team I Have Worked With In Years
The support team patience in working with me to better understand the Pros and Cons of my decisions or changes I wanted to make is priceless.
The timely replies to my tickets were also a blessing.
Thanks for your past, present an future support.
Exorbitant pricing for long-term customers
Since WebPros acquired WHMCS, pricing has skyrocketed by an eye-popping 1000%. As a long-term customer, we're now stuck with a license that's no longer upgradeable.
Here's the math: They charge $1 USD per customer per month. So, if a domain generates $1 USD in earnings, the entire profit is consumed by the license fees. It's unsustainable and feels like a cash grab, especially for those of us who have been loyal customers for years.
