Disappointed

My Mercedes recently developed a pulsing and grinding sensation coming through the steering wheel at low speeds. Being quite new to the area, a neighbour advised going to Wiltons of Shanklin, as the business was only a short walk away.
The workshop manager advised me that he had experienced this issue before and came up with a quick remedy. I wasn't overly convinced and asked him to try the quick fix, but if it didn't work, he could replace any parts necessary to resolve the issue.
Later, I received a telephone call from the workshop manager, informing me that the repair (quick fix) had been successful and the pulsing and grinding sensation had completely disappeared and the car was ready for collection. I returned to the garage and paid the invoice amount of £138.
I set off from the garage and almost immediately, I could feel the pulsing and grinding sensation coming through the steering wheel again. The 'quick fix' obviously hadn't worked and despite the workshop manager stating that the car had been test driven, the fault was still clearly evident.
It was quite a cold day, so I can only assume that the person who did the test drive might have been wearing thick gloves, which would reduce the sensation coming through his fingers.
I informed the garage of my findings via the company's website, but I have yet to receive a reply.
The moral of this tale is that a fool and his money are soon parted. In future, I will always take my cars to the main dealer for repair. It may cost a little more, but the repair will be fixed first time, and if it isn't, a refund will be issued.

First class bodywork repair

Recently had some work undertaken in the body shop on my Jeep. First class repair quickly carried out. Excellent valeting job inside and out was a bonus!
Friendly staff.

I contacted them in October 2024 to…

I contacted them in October 2024 to part exchange my car for one of theirs. They offered an extremely low valuation, and when I showed them a higher valuation from Motorway, they didn't respond or address it. I haven't heard from them since. Don't waste your time.
