Difficultés with the host left solved.

Difficultés with the host left solved.
She blaimed us for dirtyness althought we left dishwasher and washingmachine run, we took out all our rubbish, took dust from cover etc.
Only thing we didnt do was not doing vacuumcleaning and she found my hairs from bathroom and we didnt change new sheets to next client. We thought that some og cleaning belongs to the host, too. Or how?
I tried to ask basical rules of that from wimdu - no result.
I also would like to change my review to the host if possible??
<<---- tell me.

I also wrote to wimdu that Catherine"s showerroom is full of black mold. Some client has told about it in last year , too..but no result for that problem. It can make bad harm to some very allergic person and after that Wimdu is in big trouble. Why dont you react for that for your own best.

I made changing e-mail with Wimdu, friendly person Envio but no result.

Best greetings

Myself and three of my friends 4 students, were robbed by a fake advert for an apartment in Amsterdam. We lost about 1200 euro and we only realised when we didn't hear back from the so called 'Owner', after money went through. I got no help and ended up only being able contact Wimdu through Facebook. Would recommend only if you want to be robbed.

Don't use wimdu, no consumer protection.

Don't use wimdu. There will be no customer service Rep to answer to call. I had hard time to contact their host after so many tries in two weeks. I was afraid of hoax apartment. I cancelled the reservation two months before the stay. They charged 20% for cancellation. They don't even tell you how to cancel the reservation. I have to look up online community to do it. It is a company too small, they don't have manpower to check their hosts nor enough capital for customer protection.

Wimdu promising for property owner but …

Wimdu promising for property owner but so hard always to deal with German companies !

I have my property listed with several big US property companies, and the make it really easy for customers.

With Wimdu it starts that the interface is outdated and sometimes not that user friendly, I already spend twice as much time getting the listing ready. The not even able to install a geo map that you can pin point your location, because some foreign addresses the system just not accept. I think a company that works out of a garage would be able to implement this trough google maps ;~)

The they tell me to prove I am the owner.. So if you own property abroad and you show them the document of property ownership in different language the don't accept it :( If you offer service to many countries please make sure you accept those original documents from there.

Doing business with German companies not easy, and the last option for me... Was hoping to welcome some nice Tourist from there, but do bureaucracy the project failed !

Awful company

Booked a flat in Amsterdam for 2 nights. All was well until we went out to dinner and came back to see the fire brigade there and the entire floor (incl other flats) flooded and our belgonings floating around. A pipe had burst and it wasn't our fault. It was midnight at this stage and the owner wasn't answering. We called wimdu and explained that we had nowhere to sleep and all hotels were booked or really expensive because there was a festival happening in the city. They told us to sleep in the flat and call back tomorrow. I explained that there was 15cm of water in the flat, no electricity and the door had been broken down so there was no way of locking it. He repeated that we sleep in the flat. It was clearly scripted as it was a ridiculous suggestion. I asked plain and simple whether wimdu were going to find us somewhere to sleep or whether we would have to sleep in a train station. He said they couldn't pay for alternative accommodation. So we ended up having to sleep on a strangers' floor (after spending hours wringing out our belongings-some of which were irreparably damaged).

In the morning we called again and sent photos and videos of the flooded flat. The owner agreed to refund us the money but we asked wimdu to find us another place for our last night. They said that all they had were more expensive options and we'd have to pay the difference. We gave up and bought new tickets home. Then we wanted to know if we could get compensation for the damaged belongings, cost of new tickets and ruined weekend and the answer was no.

Absolutely shocking. Never using again.

Unbelievable bad customer support.

I booked an apartment for 5 days,in the booking procedure I had to press
a button on their homepage called "book now" to see the final price including the service fee,it went fine, I confirmed the booking and paid with my credit card
1 Hour later I was looking at another apartment and press button called Booking, again to see total price including service fee.
After a couple of minutes I then receive an email from a German holiday company, confirming my "booking" and asking me to pay 600 $ for my holiday house.I thought it was a scam because I didn't book or pay anything.
When finally got in contact with Wimdu, they first told me to never pay anything outside of the Wimdu homepage. Then insist I made a booking an they couldn't do anything to cancel it.After several attempt to make clear I didn't book anything, and I didn't want them to share my email with another company...customer support said goodbye and ask me to contact this german company.I couldn't call them and the emails stated that the booking was final. In the end via emails I got this german company to cancel the booking I never made, but no help at all from Wimdu ! Horrible booking procedure/trap and insanely bad customer support from Wimdu.

I've been blocked from writing a review

I stayed in Cagliari and in Rome starting in early November. I got an email asking for reviews and wrote two very positive reviews but couldn't "submit" them. If you send me another email asking for reviews, I will be happy to rewrite them.
The two hosts were Domitilla and Denis. I have nothing to good things to say about our experience with the hosts or with WIMDU. Communication has been excellent. Maybe my computer skills are not excellent.

Horrible Company - stay away

Find an alternative to Wimdu. It is one of the most ridiculous companies I've ever made the mistake of using. I booked an apartment in Munich for 8 people only to have the host say that they 'upgraded' us to another apartment. After days of asking to see the new place, I finally get photos and the 'upgraded' place is terrible and only has one bed. Horrible host! Later when I told her that there is absolutely no chance that we were going to stay there and asked if the original apartment was still available, she said you will not find anything better and that we should cancel.
But when I contacted wimdu about the situation and to get my 2100 dollars refunded, there is complete silence. No phone number and no one to talk to. And it's been weeks and I sent multiple emails. In the meantime, we booked a new apartment through airbnb.
All of a sudden, Karla, the host asks if we are ready for our stay. WHAT? She told me to cancel! At the same time, someone from Wimdu finally contacted me and told me that Karla never said the apartment wasnt available, that she wanted to upgrade us and that the original one was available for us the entire time. It was like they were teaming up against me to make me feel like I lost my mind. I pointed out the multiple parts of our conversation where Karla said that we need to cancel the apartment. They twisted it so that it sounded like I made an ultimatum for an early check-in or would cancel. At this point, I was tired of Wimdu and the host and the back and forth emails and asked multiple times to cancel. It never happened.
When you call Wimdu, you get an answering machine. There is no real person to talk to. There is no customer service. This whole website is a scam. Do not use it. I made the mistake of using it and threw $2100 dollars in the trash with no remorse on Wimdus part. There are plenty of apartment rental companies out there that are good and trustworthy companies. Wimdu is NOT one of them.
Moral of the story is to run far away from Wimdu and their hosts and their apartments so you dont end up losing significant amounts of money.
