hazardous appartement but no help or refund from Wimdu

Appartement in Lisbon humid with fungus in bedroom and a burglaralarm going off several times an hour during the entire night. We arrived after midnight and was forced to abandon the appartement the next day at noon. We called the owner Warmrentals at once and they were all too familiar with the problems, but really did not care much. We called Wimdu the next day, but they were unwilling to help, as they explained the mony was already payed and we were left on our own. After several days of communication, the owner 'offered' to repay on quater of the fee. This is of course completely unacceptable, when we only stayed less than 12 hours and they clearly knew about the fungus and insane alarm beforehand renting the appartmen to us. I strongly urge you to stay away fom Wimdu and Warmrentals to avoid the kind of problems they applied on us ruining our holiday in Lisbon.

dobbely disapointed

Family agreed our holliday 2015.

Booked, paid, our flat, flieght and traoin.

In may we where contacted by the owner - NOT Wimdu, that that was not on anymore.

Wimdy helped aftaer many dayes and emails finding us another.

We are her now, but got another cancillation at the airport of our final destination.

WIMDU - after 4 days gave ud 50, but no new flat!!!!

I´ve had only pleasent things to say about Wimdu, but Spanish branch is total loco.

Dont go there!

Wimdu and Kingly Rentals - do not trust!

Please look at the revieuw below. I have had very bad experiences with Wimdu and Kingly rentals. Wimdu is not to be trusted, many advertisements on their website are false. I was ripped of by Kingly Rentals, it is a fake company. Be very careful when dealing with these two companies!

Fake companies at WIMDU >> Kingly Rental

Do not book thru Wimdu. We got in contact with a fake company - Kingly Rentals - and found out they steal peoples id's/pictures. Their web changes all the time - new names, new pictures. So be careful. Do your research - and for good sake - AVOID Kingly Rentals!!! They're fake.

Fraudulent policies and procedures

This company does not have 24/7 customer service and it is impossible to receive prompt attention to any issue. I emailed my host well ahead of my visit and he said he would email me with details closer to the date. Right before the 7-day cancellation deadline he emailed me to say the damage deposit indicated in the list listing needed to be paid in cash (this fact was not stated in the listing). This contradicted Wimdu's policies that stated all transactions should occur within the Wimdu platform and that host requirements should be indicated in the listing. Was I really expected to give a stranger in a foreign country nearly 300$ American dollars as a refundable damage deposit? I fully expected Wimdu to hold the host accountable to Wimdu procedures. Low and behold, there was no phone number for Wimdu just email within Wimdu platform and chat - both of which I tried without response. After waiting 24 hours without response, I cancelled my reservation. Nearly immediately after that a Wimdu representative emailed me telling me that (because of the time difference) I missed the window within which I could get a reasonable refund by a couple hours. So out of a reservation that cost me over $700US, Wimdu said I would get $26 back. I posted a Trustpilot review right then and there but realized it would only get reported on the UK version of Trustpilot, leaving US customers out of the loop. I am so mad I could spit nails. On top of everything else I cancelled 7/1 (for a 7/8 reservation) - it is now 7/20 and I haven't even been reimbursed the ridiculous $26. Run for the hills if you're considering Wimdu and stick with AirBnB or VRBO instead. Wimdu is capital D Dishonest!

Scam web site Wimdu

We rent an apartment in Antalya Turkey in March 2016 for 3 weeks in June and july. We got the money back but it was short $250 from what we paid after going back and forth via email and long distance phone call they said that is the way it is

Wimdu failed to support me when booked apartment was unavailable on arrival

I booked an apartment in Madrid for a long weekend 2 months prior to going. When I arrived and rang the owner to advise I was outside the flat, first of all said "oh, you've got the keys already" then claimed there was an issue with the water supply which had happened 2 hours previously and made it uninhabitable. (I think it was really double booked). Wimdu were slow to respond on their so-called "emergency" number - it took 2 hours of continuous calling to get a reply. Then were unable to offer me any alternative other than to refund my money and "look at booking.com". I ended up £110 out of pocket, effectively losing 24 of my 72 hour break, and highly stressed. Needless to say, despite many follow up emails I haven't even had a formal apology, let alone support in the additional costs I incurred.

Fake site

They do not have phone contact and d'ont answer e-mail. I rent my house through them and they transfer my money (1750€) to a fake account. Do not trust this site.

you need to be very cautious

"Making reservation" it is not really making reservation, this is only a try to make reservation but wimdu blocks you payment for weeks even if reservation is rejected same day,yes rejected by apartment host. In wimdu there is no advance payments, you have to give them full payment and you are not sure to get your reservation. Prices are high and you have to pay extra "taxes and other payments" (about 10%) that you will know in the middle of "wimdu reservation" process. I'm waiting 2weeks to get my money back for rejected reservation. Never again!

One of the Best

If you are getting tired and jaded with hotels and the feeling you could be anywhere in the world once your door and curtains are closed then Wimdu is the site for you.
Couldn't have asked for better service from our original booking to a few days before our trip and the after service we received.
Great choice of locations and accommodation from a room in a family home to four bedroom apartments if so required.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Wimdu to anyone, novice or seasoned traveler.

Rome great city to visit

We really enjoyed our stay with Monica. She helped with information regarding the tourist spots and transport. Her homestay was very handy to the tram which took us to connections. Advise for restaurants great. The local restaurant really great and food excellent. The city prices more expensive. Room very comfortable,
Quiet and we relaxed. Do visit the cat santurary it's free, we left a donation.The volunteers are doing a great work here. Yes expect que's so get your tickets the day prior and get the early transport. Watch out for the younger children pick pocketing especially on the rail from main termini. Great hospility from our host and recommend her home stay.

Extremely bad customer service

This company has the worse customer service ever. They take over 20% fees, yet they are not reachable via phone in case of problem nor do their care about solving issues. They also lie on their website when they claim to have Great (8.9/10) when actually they are right now at 7.7/10.

Fast and commited to their work!

They solved problem about booking apartment on Tenerife 2h after we reported a missing adres!
We were the happyest people after having that fast expiriance of resolving problems about contakt with apartment owners!
We are gratefull!

They allowed my host account to be hacked

Be careful, my host account has been hacked and they didn't help me at all, on the contrary, I couldn't get in touch with no one from their customer service. My account is still hacked.. and someone has done a booking through it and lost his money.

Easy to use, great experience

We had a really great experience using Wimdu. Searching and booking an accommodation was easy and we had lots of choices. Rates were very reasonable and we had an excellent experience with our host. I would definitely recommend Wimdu to others.
