Our Tour of the Uco Valley was…the ultimate..,thanks to Lujan and Winerist

Our Tour of the Uco Valley was terrific. Our guide, Lujan was wonderful. Kind, considerate, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. She designed a perfect visit to a high end winery, Michel Roland’s Diamandes, a mid level, La Azul and our favorite, garage winemaker Laureano Gomez. He was warm, funny, so knowledgeable, and fun. Simply a marvelous experience in the Uco Valley. Thank you Lujan and Winerist

Money management issues

Have organised two trips now to different parts of the world with Winerist. Chile and Argentina and most recently Georgia. In each case they engaged excellent local tour companies.
However we had a problem in Chile when the guide told us she had not been paid, yet she had arranged and paid for all visits/hotels in advance. We complained and payment was made.
In Georgia the same happened, the local tour co, who had prepaid all visits and accomodation etc complained that they had not been paid, and did not feel able to continue. Winerist said they had paid, but in fact it was only part of our tour costs. There was some discussion and we agreed to pay the outstanding amount, which we did on our cards. Some found that difficult and it caused a great deal of stress. Winerist did agree to reimburse us , which they did eventually, little by little. This was a great disappointment and took the shine off the trip.
Yes they have good connections but their management left a lot to be desired. We had paid for all the tour costs and were entitled to expect that that money was effectively ring fenced for our trip, but thay had obviously used it for other things. Alarmingly they were not bonded as is usual in the travel industry so we felt very lucky to have been reimbursed.
I will not be using them again, all of the tour group had been involved with the management of small/medium sized businesses so are aware of the issues, but this was inexcuseable.

Keen on details and organization

Organization is key to me and that's exactly what I got with the trip. I would definitely recommend if you are keen on details without worrying if the facility is clean or safe, if the surroundings are nice and hosts spectacular. I would definitely use their services again without a worry.

Sicily with Winerist - A Traveler's Delight!

Fantastic weekend in Sicily!
From the moment I signed up for the trip to the final farewell, every aspect was meticulously planned. The accommodation was lovely with a unique charm, the warmth and hospitality of the staff made us feel right at home, we had the best Sicilian food and the best wines at a family-run vineyard. Thank you Winerist for the most amazing memories! Already excited for the next trip :)

My recent trip to South Africa was incredible

My recent trip to South Africa was perfectly planned by the Winerist team. I was worried as this was my first wine trip abroad but everything was looked after and I didnt have anythign to worry about.
I did a cycle tour of the bubbly wine region, it was incredible sipping on bubbles and watching the mountains change colour before taking a quick cycle down to the next winery. Winerist organised a fantastic driver who was so knowledgeable and such luxurious accommodation in Stellenbosch, we even had a spa day! Overall thank you to the team for looking after my wine trip, making sure the wineries I wanted to explore were included in the plans. Will be booking my next trip with you, hopefully Italy or France next

What an amazing trip! Everything has been organised to perfection, every single detail was spot on and we managed to enjoy a very nice long weekend in Sicily. The stuff was very friendly, willing and able to accommodate needs raised or offer alternatives. We were able to enjoy and experience a very genuine Sicily and cannot wait to go back!

This was my first experience with Winerist and I had the best time ever. This is the first trip that I booked through Winerist and I know that many more will come, Winerist will be my go to platform when it comes to trips and good fun!

Yet another 5 star trip with the team from Winerist

We have used the Winerist for many years to plan our travel. Our recent trip to Paris with a day trip to Epernay was wonderful. The resturants they booked for us were fantastic, our hotel was incredibly comfortable and welcoming and had lovely grounds to allow you to relax

Bespoke wine and food experiences, bar none

This company is great at all things wine as well as the travel experiences that happen around wine regions (think fabulous food and places to stay).

I have used Winerist on a number of occasions— some one-day trips and others as long as a week. I booked casual trips to areas like Rioja and Piedmont as well as expert guide trips during my studies to the Cava and Prosecco regions and Jerez de la Frontera for sherry. If I had to point to a memorable trip, though, it would be Mendoza, where we visited 3 amazingly different sub-regions including the stunning Uco Valley and Winerist was able to get us into the rarely visited Cheval des Andes (wow!).
If you are looking for a bespoke experience with exactly what you want in terms of accommodation, food, wine and guiding expertise, look no further.

Unforgettable birthday

For my birthday my husband offered me a wine tour in Bordeaux. He organized everything behind my back and when we landed in Bordeaux everything was perfect since the first moment. I doubted my husband logistics skills so I investigated and he told me he was brightly mentored by Winerist that followed every step of the experience . Thanks to my husband for the suprise but also thanks to winerist that made the magic.

Extremely Disappointed - Promises Unfulfilled

I recently had the unfortunate experience of entrusting a very special trip - my husband's 50th birthday celebration to Winerist that promised so much but delivered so little. I felt compelled to share my experience here on Trustpilot to warn others and hopefully inspire change in this company's approach to customer service.

Four months prior to the trip, I had engaged with the company with high hopes and excitement. Their initial promise was nothing short of extraordinary: "In almost all instances you will be meeting with the winemaker and the Brand Ambassador - and also the owner where possible. " The company stated "These are not public visits and these experiences are only available to our wine buyers and collectors." These words filled me with anticipation and a sense of adventure.

Regrettably, the reality of our trip was a far cry from these assurances. We embarked on our journey, expecting intimate encounters with winemakers and exclusive tastings, only to find ourselves in generic and overcrowded winery tours. The promise of private, exclusive experiences was replaced by the presence of random tourists who had joined our tours off the street. This stark contrast between the envisioned experience and the reality was deeply disheartening.

Moreover, throughout the planning process and during the trip itself, the company demonstrated a complete lack of accountability. Despite their claims, there was no evidence of genuine relationships or recognition with the wineries we visited. It became clear that last-minute, hastily arranged tours were substituted for the carefully curated experiences we were led to believe we would receive.

As a customer, I expected transparency, professionalism, and accountability from this company, especially given the significance of the occasion and the considerable investment we made. Instead, I faced unprofessional communication, delays, and a blatant lack of responsibility for their shortcomings.

In conclusion, my husband's 50th birthday celebration, which should have been a momentous and unforgettable experience, was marred by disappointment and frustration. I am compelled to share this review not out of spite, but in the hope that this company will take a hard look at their practices, make amends to dissatisfied customers, and uphold the promises they make to their clients. It is my sincere wish that no one else has to endure the disappointment and stress that my family and I experienced.

I was able to retrieve 70% of my fees, this was an immensely painful experience but ultimately the company could not ignore the facts and caved. I have asked multiple times for a detailed invoice but the company has just blankly refused and ignored the request, as a consumer I have a right to know what I am paying for.

Winerist are expensive and unreliable

We were travelling through France from the UK and South Africa. We booked an e-bike wine tasting tour in Bordeaux (St Emilion). The booking process was easy and the response time from Diana was very quick. However, a week before the tour, we got an email saying that the tour had to be cancelled because the mini-bus that was meant to take us from Bordeaux to St Emilion had broken down. When we asked for an alternative plan, we were told that there was no way that Winerist couldn't help us. We even asked if we could still do the tour if we made our own way to St Emilion but Winerist was not interested in assisting.

At this stage all other operators offering similar tours were booked up so we were left stranded because of what seemed like a trivial issue. We took the issue into our own hands and managed to find a bike rental company in St Emilion (Lovelec33) ourselves. We then used a company called Rue des Vigerons to book tastings at the wine farms. Doing it this way, we had a magical experience by booking these ourselves and going on our own steam according to our own schedule. The tour that Winerist was offering at 169 Euro per person, we managed to put together for under 100 Euro per person including transport to St Emilion.

Our advice...If you're ever considering doing this type of tour, don't go through Winerist as they are clearly unreliable and use pretty weak excuses for cancelling at the last minute. One can only be skeptical about the reason that they actually cancelled. Have a look at using Lovelec33 to book the bikes, Rue des Vignerons to book the tastings and get a train to and from St Emilion. It's much cheaper and you won't be let down at the last minute.

Really disappointing experience

Three of us took part in a tour that, to be honest, did not justify the €85 per person ticket price. Despite being advertised as a half-day tour, it turned out to be a basic experience that only involved visits to two local winery shops. The tour started at 10:00 AM and ended by 12:00 PM. Additionally, both winery shops offered similar wine production lessons and tastings, making it a repetitive experience without any chance to explore an actual vineyard.

To my surprise, I found out that individual tickets for these winery shops could be purchased for just €6-10 each.

I tried reaching out to the company through calls and emails, but there has been no response. The few times I managed to get through on the phone, I was promised that they would look into the matter, but I never received any follow-up replies.

It's truly disappointing, and I strongly advise others to avoid this company.

Lovely duoro valley wine tour

I’d go 4.5 if possible My family and I traveled to the duoro. The trip was very well done and exceptionally beautiful We stopped at the Croft port house and tried the white, ruby, and 7 yr ports. I was a little disappointed that other groups were trying the 10 and 20 year tawnies but at our second stop, a little Boutique winery/ port house, we ate lunch where we did get to try the 10, 20, and a 30 year port. The river cruise also gave the other tours a port sample but not our group. My biggest disappointment is this is the same viator/ trip advisor tour. I thought that booking through a wine company that specializes in wine travel it might take use a little more off the beaten path. The website did say it was booked through a third party I just would have maybe spent a little more time trying to find a more personalized/ less crowded tour. ( this company had multiple busses going to the same place and visiting many of the same stops just staggered times.)But that being said the tour was very well done and enjoyable.

A fantastic tour for 4 of us in the…

A fantastic tour for 4 of us in the Douro Valley. We did the Mateus Palace visit, the Rabelo boat ride, and two wineries. We added a 2nd winery visit at the end. The entire day was fantastic. The scenery during the drive and stops was incredible. The Mateus Palace was a nice visit. Surprised by all the collectibles inside. Picturesque shots everywhere and visiting the outdoor gardens with all the fruits and vineyards was perfect. Ate cherries right off the trees!
The first winery was a delight. Quinta do Portal. The best part was having lunch there. A four course lunch with wine pairings that were out of this world. It was one of the best restaurants we visited in all of Portugal and that's saying a lot with us hitting some of the highest rated ones. Winerist did a great job in helping us select the two wineries we visited. I wanted to avoid any touristy or common ones to avoid any crowds. We wanted to keep it special. After doing a quick Rabelo boat ride, which was a nice view on the river, we went to Quinta do Napoles for the Niepoort wines. We did the premium selection of wines. I ended getting a 30 year port and shipped wine home. Our driver, Diogo was outstanding. He slowly warmed into conversations, but allowed us to get comfortable seeing the beautiful scenery. By the end of the tour we were laughing like good friends. We welcomed him to dine with us for lunch. I had high expectations for the tour, and Winerist lived up to them.
