Terrible Experience – Account Blocked Without Explanation and Funds Withheld

I've been a Wirex user for several months, and I am extremely disappointed with the way they operate. Out of nowhere, they blocked my account without giving any explanation. I have tried contacting customer support multiple times, but I only receive generic responses and no real answers.

What’s worse is that they are still holding my money and won’t let me access it. This is completely unacceptable and feels like theft. I trusted Wirex with my funds, and now I regret ever using their service.

Avoid this platform if you care about your money and peace of mind.

Update

I can confirm that I have received a full refund of my funds.

I have finally figured out why my account is under a security check yet again and have temporarily frozen my account!
It's A CASH FLOW SOLUTION!
They probably create this when they suspect you are about to take your funds out!

P.s. They now say that I have 'Limited Feature Access, it can take a hours'..HOW ABOUT A FEW MONTHS!! :( :(

They have now CLOSED MY ACCOUNT! Not surprisingly, they give no tangible reason, but say I will receive a full refund. I've asked to confirm when and to which payment system.
Still awaiting proof that they have returned all my funds!

Locked account, then closed, but they did return my funds.

I transferred some XRP to sell, could not sell when I wanted to so decided to send back to hardware wallet. First transfer went through, then account was blocked.

They asked for info on where the funds came through, I had this with Revolut and the whole process took 2 hours, Wirex took 6 weeks, then told me my account was being closed, they cant say why. They sent so many emails at once the one that gave instructions to send bank details to withdraw funds in GBP. I sent this email off and the funds were transferred the next day. Overall there customer service is so slow it did seem like I was being scammed especially reading the other review, but I did get my funds returned however I lost a couple of grand in the price drop in XRP during this whole process.

Just wanted to leave a review for those in the same situation reading the reviews and thinking they are screwed, I did get my funds back.

The commission price is very high for. We simply cannot afford the commission price. Even though i lost money, they are still hiring me without telling me. They are stealing money from their clients by performing things i never requested them to do. I'm pleased with HILLBILLY, there is nothing hidden there. I tested them. I won't suggest that you deal with them here.

Company has potential but they lack…

Company has potential but they lack focus on keeping the momentum and on adding value.
One of their biggest mistake they still do is ignoring and not caring about all their crowdcube investors who in the end helped them to be where they are. If they would have done that, they would have gained free marketing and go-arouders who would advertise their side investment and products. Also, they had and still have the money to start buying back shares but there is no move towards that showing they prefer to risk others money which doesn't build up on the trust.

They drained my account

I bought some crypto back in 2020, and at the time, there were no “inactivity fees.” I simply stored my crypto there without using the account for several years. Later, Wirex unilaterally introduced an “inactivity fee,” which ultimately emptied my account. I wonder, how the Russian scam (Pavel Matveev is a founder), based in Britain is still active, and Pavel Matveev is not in jail.

Nothing but issues with Wirex

Nothing but issues with Wirex. Now they have blocked my account and restricted me, without providing notice until i contacted the support team. Now they seem to want my life story and a huge amount of information from me - most of which is none of their business. I want my money back and the account closed. Absolute joke of a bank.

Looking at the negative reviews for years, which generally follow pattern of blocked user funds without warning, and on the Russian names of the executive and support staff of that company one can conclude this company has Russian origin and it is waging war on financial battlefield exploiting the rules of western banking regulators, mocking at them, and causing harm to western citizens. This can simply be thought of extension of Ukrainian conflict in the fintech field. This company illustrates the weaknesses and inadequacy of Western word fintech regulators. It looks there is one similar-brother company called tap.

Setup up Wirex for use to stake my BTC. I added 1 BTC. 4 months later seemed to be going okay until I decided to unlock my stake & move it back to cold storage. However, be warned! I was limited to small withdrawals & each withdrawal was charged a transaction essentially nullifying any interest I may have earned from staking my BTC. Now, they have locked my account disabling me from withdrawing about 0.4 BTC!
Lodged a complaint & no doubt will now be waiting months to get my BTC back!!
Really disgusting service!

I am writing to formally request an immediate resolution to the ongoing issue with my Wirex account. As previously communicated, my account was blocked without proper explanation approximately six months ago. At the time, my account balance was approximately $4,500 USD, consisting of various cryptocurrencies, including Cardano (ADA) and Shiba Inu.

After months of waiting and limited responses from your team, I noticed that my account balance has been inexplicably reduced to $3,500 USD. Furthermore, despite providing the requested bank account details for the transfer, I have yet to receive my funds.

This lack of transparency and accountability is unacceptable. If this matter is not resolved by [insert a specific deadline, e.g., November 24, 2024], I will proceed with filing a formal complaint with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and pursuing legal action through my lawyer.

For your reference, I have already prepared a detailed complaint for the FCA, outlining your failure to:
1. Provide adequate explanations for blocking my account.
2. Clarify the reasons for the significant reduction in my account balance.
3. Transfer the remaining funds to my provided bank account.

I strongly urge you to respond promptly with a clear explanation and a resolution to this issue. Failure to do so will leave me no choice but to escalate this matter through legal and regulatory channels.

Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.

Absolutely crap company

Absolutely crap company. Get ready for numerous and for no valid reasons they will share with you, your card being blocked. There is no warning and they do it in their own time. Seriously these guys are a plant from the banks to give crypto a bad name. I encourage everyone to (in Australia) to report them to AFCA.

ANOTHER FEEBLE RESPONSE FROM WIREX

So I have just posted yet another review of this fraudulent company on behalf of my brother in law who’s been trying to recoup his thousands of $ from September LAST YEAR (2023) .,
WIREX response was… he has to contact them personally and they will assist. He has already written more than 30 emails to them, answered every single request, given them every detail and yet still no REFUND of HIS money. This company are dishonest and if you read the hundreds of reviews of money being stolen, you’ll not trust them.
They have promised to return his funds many times and given NO EXPLANATION as to why they haven’t.

They will block your Crypto, don't be like me!
Completely outrageous. Avoid and don't read the bots.

If you have been caught and you cannot make withdrawals, I'd recommend creating a debit card and paying it out as fiat asap (I paid into my pension, it was the biggest debit card transaction I could think of). Avoid Avoid Avoid
