Extremely poor at rectifying Issues

Extremely poor at rectifying Issues. Especially Anything App related and or tech glitches. It's fast approaching a month since I have not being able to access stocks. I can no longer Buy or Sell Stocks due to the algorithm of the apps tech. I personally believe I may have been hacked, but Plum are refusing to share or disclose this information. The only response to this review should be, we have fixed the issue or a phone call to discuss how to troubleshoot or solve the issue.
I look forward to your prompt response.

Plum is super easy to navigate and use. I love the different pockets you can set up to save for various things and the automatic savings challenges weekly. Saving money without noticing! Also great interest rate on savings. Very happy and definitely recommend it.

I’ve been using Plum for a few months…

I’ve been using Plum for a few months and have consistently run into technical issues. Most of the time, customer support advises deleting and reinstalling the app, but this hasn’t resolved the problems. I’ve had multiple failed deposit attempts, and the only successful one seemed to go through by chance.

At the moment, I have to contact customer support every time I want to make a deposit, which makes the process slow and adds unnecessary friction to saving. Response times are also quite long, which makes it difficult to resolve issues efficiently.

I’ve tried using the help pages, but some of the instructions refer to buttons or options that don’t appear in the app, so I’m unable to troubleshoot on my own.

Because of the ongoing issues and the impact on my ability to save reliably, I’m now considering transferring my LISA to another provider. A smoother, more consistent user experience would make a big difference.

Helpful Advice & Information Received

Have contacted the support team on the messaging service and had all my questions answered with explanations, which helped. It would be nice to actually speak to someone but at least I did communicate well with the agents I spoke too, Sasha and Raven.
Very helpful and polite.

Choose another ISA provider!

If I can save someone else the hassle I am going through please do not use Plum Fintech for your ISA savings.
I opened up an ISA with Plum, this was fine until it came to trying to transfer out my ISA to another provider.
There is no customer service number which is frustrating if you have an issue and Plum operate on a basis of no sort code, account number or roll number. You are asked to use your National Insurance number to transfer an ISA across.
Here lies the problem, the other savings providers require you to give account details so you can’t actually transfer your Plum ISA out without these details!
I have put in an official complaint with Plum to which they informed me that they are unable to uphold my complaint. They repeatedly keep telling me just the National Insurance is required, unfortunately that is not what the other providers want! I still haven’t managed to transfer my ISA out!
Why should a person have to lose their ISA tax benefits having to take their money out because you won’t provide the details required to do so? Plum?

Hello,

We’re sorry to hear about the difficulties you’ve experienced when trying to transfer your ISA.

Plum Cash ISA is structured differently from traditional savings accounts and therefore do not have a sort code, account number, or roll number. For ISA transfers, the unique identifier used is the National Insurance Number, which is the standard reference we are able to provide.

We want to reassure you that we do not restrict or prevent ISA transfers. When a valid transfer request is received through the appropriate process, it is reviewed and processed accordingly.

We understand that some providers may require different information as part of their standard journey. In these cases, transfers can often still be completed via alternative routes, such as manual or paper-based processes, and we have successfully supported such transfers in the past.

We can, however, understand that this situation can be frustrating, and in case you wish us to assist you further where possible, we remain available via our open communication.

Thank you.

I decided to transfer my cash ISA to another provider

I decided to transfer my cash ISA from Plum to another provider. After over a week by new provider informed me my application was rejected. I tried to contact Plum via its chat bot and was informed to contact customer service but there was no number. I found a no for Customer care using Whats app but it was located In India and did not work. I have since e-mailed them and am awaiting a reply. Easy to put your money in but difficult to transfer the money when you realise you are getting a poor interest rate.

Hi Claudius,

We’re sorry to hear that your experience with Plum was frustrating.

We would like to mention that from what we can see, your transfer wasn’t declined on our side. In some cases, transfers can’t be completed due to specific conditions included in the request we receive from the new provider, which means the request needs to be adjusted and resubmitted before it can move forward.

We appreciate that this maybe was not have been clear from your perspective, and we’re sorry for the confusion it caused.

Regarding the WhatsApp contact you mentioned, this seems rather odd since this isn’t a channel we offer. If you’re able to share more details on where you came across this, at community@withplum.com, we’d really appreciate it so we can look into it further.

We’re sorry again for the inconvenience this has caused.

I decided to transfer my cash ISA from…

I decided to transfer my cash ISA from Plum to another provider. This is what I got from Plum in an email: "We’ll be as quick as possible but it can take up to 10 business days for us to complete our part of this process." 10 days? What exactly are you doing to take 10 days? It would take less if you send the money using Evri delivery services. And what happens to the interest during 10 days? Pocketing it?

-------------- What Plum does about forfeiting your earned interest is robbery. No matter what you do, you always end up losing your earned interest. It simply does not make sense to lose earned interest if you decide to move your money from Plum to another provider. This is not fixed term to do this. I will complain and take this complaint the Financial Ombudsman.

Hello,

We’re sorry to hear that your Cash ISA transfer-out process hasn’t been as expected, and that we didn’t meet your expectations on this occasion.

In terms of timeframes, the standard timeframe is up to 15 working days for Cash ISA transfers. To help expedite the process, we aim to complete the transfer within 5-7 working days, where possible.

As noted in our Help Centre (https://help.withplum.com/en/articles/9070552-transfer-cash-isa-out-of-plum), if a Cash ISA is transferred at any point during the month, the basic interest for that month is forfeited, while interest from previous months is still credited to the account.

Your conversation with our support team remains open, and you’re welcome to raise any further questions or concerns there at any time.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience throughout the process. We’re looking forward to getting this resolved for you.

I wish I could offer no stars

I wish I could offer no stars. Plum promote a Cash ISA and when you sign up for it, throughout the whole process, it states the money is being transferred into your new Cash ISA account.

However, when you come to check on your return after 12 months, no interest. They squirrel the money into a “pocket” not into the ISA and hope you don’t notice.

Customer service terrible. 12 months of interest lost.

I have clear images of the sign up process and terms and conditions to show what a sham it is.

An easy way to save money....

When I took out the ISA it was at a great rate but obviously not now. I never intended to invest the full amount though. I quite like that they save a random amount for me each month. I have a few investment products so I dont need the highest rate.
