I pay yearly. My bill went up $40! Then today is trash day. Guess what? No pick up! It's so windy my tote has blown over 3x's! My trash gets picked up around 7am. It didn't blow over until after noon! Picked it up after the 3rd time and put it back to the house. Website said it was picked up! Liars

I called customer service on 3/13/26 to calmly dicuss a rate that was considerably higher. Although there had been a rate increase I was inquiring about a related letter I had received that included a photi of my neighbor overflowing container and threats to charge me. I asked if I had been charged for this because the bill reflected a manual prorate. The customer service person overtalked me, was patronizing, and failed to provide the positive service I have come to expect from WM. If you are increasing rates and adding prorate from a prior billing you should expect some customers to call with questions. Those questions should be answered clearly and professionally, not treat customers as if they lack intelligence.

"Buyer beware: Waste Management has become impossible to work with. They skipped my house claiming my Toters were too heavy, then wanted $120 for a re-run. To top it off, they charge you a 'ransom' ($75+ in fees) just to take their bins back when you cancel.
I’ve watched drivers pass by neighbors' bins just because they were blown over by the wind. They won't lift a finger to help anymore. If you're looking for service that actually picks up trash without hidden fees, look elsewhere!"

This company decided to increase my rates without telling me from $34 a month to $42 a month. I didn’t notice as I had medical issues and wasn’t keeping up with checking my banking account they were taking money from. I have been on the phone the past month, with 3 different liars that said they would reduce the rate to $23 a month and give me a refund. Nope, they are LIARS and now, they won’t answer the phone so I can tell them to come pick up their trash can as I’m DONE with this awful company. I am going with the other local company that charges $25 a month. WHY would I pay $16 more a month to these swindlers!!! They are the WORST!

Both of my trash cans were taken from Waste management without notice. I have never missed a payment so there is absolutely no reason my cans should have been taken. When trying to contact someone there’s no point. The online chat is useless and they are never open during their actual business hours “7am-4:30pm Monday through Friday”. Not only were both of my cans taken, the drivers left trash bags from INSIDE our can in the middle of our street. This is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional.

Do not use this company. They are utterly appalling and make it very hard for you to cancel and will renew your contract when you explicitly state you do not want to renew with them before the renewal date. I can’t believe I didn’t check the reviews and they are rebranding. Hopefully you see this before you sign with them.

WM representatives over the phone assured me that i would be reimbursed for charges for trash removal services that I never received- as long as i provided documentation. I provided the correct documentation and following that they declined to reimburse me. They refused to honor the previous agreement, and finally told me "will be closing this case at this time, as we have exhausted our options to further assist you." If you have a choice for waste removal, look elsewhere!

Every time it snows they skip pickup and don’t come back. That means recycling, for example, builds up for four weeks without service. Complete BS. Come back or I cancel.

They lie and never pick up the recycle bin. For the past 3 months they lie and say they have picked up our associations recycle bins and they never do!!! You have to call in for 4 days in a row and they promise these WM drivers will pick up the trash. I'm cancelling my service. I'm not paying $60 a month for this crap!!

They emailed me a picture of my trash can and the lid was not able to shut all of the way. They threatened to charge me next time. This after I complained of the drivers always throwing the trash cans in the ditch and my neighbor has Parkinson’s and can’t get his without falling. Then they are charging me $75.00 to pick up their trash can!!!!!!!! WM YOU NEED TO DO BETTER!!! I will be contacting WF to report a fraudulent charge of over $200 on my credit card!!!!!!!

The Comcast of trash service, WM silently and without warning raises bills every cycle. Not just by little amounts but exponential amounts. My bill tripled, and I was paying more than 3x the amount of any other local service. Then, you have to do the song and dance of calling to cancel, and then magically they can match the other guys prices? Surely that means your "rate increase" was unnecessary and just penalizing your loyal customers! }
The service is paid in advance, but by the time you get your bill with your SURPRISE! rate increase, you can cancel long before it comes due but they'll charge you anyway. Just got my account debited even though ten days ago I cancelled autopay, deleted my payment information, cancelled my account and my bins have already long since been picked up. Now I get to sit on hold for ages while they try to "figure it out". THERE"S NOTHIGN TO FIGURE OUT JUST GIVE THE MONEY BACK

This company is the worst on planet earth!!!! Something needs to be done!! My place of employment has an account (now mind you it is a gas station) we are very busy which equals alot of trash!!! We were supposed to get our dumpster emptied on Thurs last week but couldn't cause of snow blocking (understandable) we dug it out next day!! The dark skinned heavy set gentlemen pulled into lot sat for not even 2 mins then left! We called WM an the cocky woman that answered the phone asked me the info, an I told her she says to me ummm yeah the driver said he couldn't empty the dumpster do to a truck not wanting to move"! How was the driver supposed to move if that fat lazy a$$ didn't even get out of truck to ask!?!?!? I'm Furious!!!! Now I have 4 days of trash sitting in the back of building!!! So not Cool! He needs to be retrained cause he definitely doesn't know what to do!

Horrible customers service. Representative LIED about a 35% fee increase. Said that the HOA I live in approved the increase.
The HOA does not get involved with trash pickup.
I will eat my trash rather than pay WM another penny

I would like to get the service I paid for. Constantly missed pick ups (but still get charged). Trash was to be picked up today March 3rd 2026 but was not due to inclement weather (their words not mine). It was raining. No snow, no ice, just rain. If I want to cancel my non existent service I will have to pay a $75.00 pick up container fee. I have never been so disappointed with service from a company and I'm 67. That tells you how bad it is. I will leave this review everywhere I can so hopefully other people will not make the same mistake.

This company only cares about making money and the bottom dollar! They will lock you in to what seems to be a almost impossible contract to get out of without paying close to $2000 of early termination fees. They will set you up on a auto renewal that has a 30 day window each year to cancel, can't be done too early or too late. I would never ever recommend anyone to use this company. Once they have you in contract they will hold you and threaten the legally binding agreement unless you pay all the early Termination fees. They hold the customer fully accountable but have no accountability in there company for anything they do or do not follow.

We used to have Gilbert picking up our trash. As we received the new bins I assumed that Gilbert got a new truck. About 2 weeks later, I found out that the company was acquired by Star Waste. The did not picked up our trash for a month. I contacted them by phone 3 times and emailed them. Finally, they answered on Monday. I notified them I no longer need their service and asked them to pick up their bins. The bins had never been retrieved. Today, I received a surprise call regarding an outstanding balance on my account. The lady on the phone blamed me for not following up the link that they sent to my husbnad's email, where I was supposed to sign up. Our phone call ended up yelling at each other. This is a rediculous company

I closed my account in August 2025 and paid my last month's bill along with their ridiculous $85 bin retrieval fee. Every month since they have sent me a bill trying to charge me a second time for that bin retrieval. I both emailed and called to say I'd already paid and would not be paying them again. As of February 2026, they've sent the bill plus interest to debt collections. This company is a scam and will do anything to squeeze extra money out of you.
Not to mention the half dozen times trash and recycling pickup just never happened but I never received any kind of credit for the missed services.
