Woking Borough Council 👎🤨👎

I was told to collect a letter from WBC and we got there, me and my carer got verbally abused by an evil male. My carer he was in his wheelchair 72 years old was shocked and angry. Later they sent a letter to him saying that they will evict him and make him homeless. He had a heart attack and the 999 Ambulance saved his life. Unfortunately no solicitors will take on his case except for one who wanted £2000 which he declined. The solicitors he rang up said they could only do Legal Aid if he was physically injured like a punch in the face. He reported it to the police but they did nothing. Woking Borough Council own The Police and the so called Local Member Of Parliament. 🤔🧐🤔

Utter drivel

Utter drivel. Bunch of utterly corrupt lying profiteers outsourcing abusive care environments to clinically vulnerable. Sending bailiffs despite not sending forms. Underfunding local GP surgeries to the point of not getting 1 appointment after life saving surgery. Crooks.

The worst Wokingham Borough Council in more than thirty years.

The current Wokingham Borough Council is the worst I have experienced since I moved to Woodley thirty plus years ago. The "services" they provide are for ever being cut back and back. They cut grass verges once or twice a year, it seems, and most other "services" have been decimated. They only concentrate on children and care services it seems. The most recent fiasco is their new waste collection service. Despite living in a "town house" without a passage way between my house and the neighbours, and despite living by myself, I have had a huge waste bin imposed on me. Up until now I have putout a blue bag of waste every one or two weeks. I was told that the new bin would be the equivalent of about two blue bags. I should think it could hold about six or eight blue bags. This Liberal Undemocrat (democracy does not come into it with them!) led council is despised by everyone I know.

I forgot to mention what is probably the worst thing that Wokingham Borough Council have done. They have killed Woodley town centre by increasing the price of the car parks and introducing evening charging. Anyone with a brain, which excludes councillors, can see how empty the car parks are now and how many shops have closed. The council's moronic approach has also forced people, including myself, to avoid Woodley town and drive to places like the Co-Op and Sainsburys. This has undermined their attempt at being "green".

The pits

This council should be ashamed of its self. My dying father has a care manager from the adult social care.
I am filling to have my father removed from his care manager as she is the pits and shouldn’t be in the job!

Garden waste still not collected

My brown wheelie bin was outside the front of my property in Twyford from 6am on Monday 11th March 2024. It was clearly visible and had both the orange 23/24 label and the green 24/25 label on it to show I have paid you in advance for garden waste collection. It remained outside my property ALL day and all night and is still there today Tues 12th March - but you still have not collected it!

I have double checked your Wokingham website and it still says that my garden waste collection is 'option 1' and now the next Monday for collection is 18th March 2024. As this is a service I have 'paid in advance' for, what guarantee will you provide that you will actually honour your commitments and collect my garden waste???

Or is your only interest taking money from me to fill your coffers with no intention of actually providing a service?
My brown garden wheelie bin is still sitting outside my property waiting for you to collect it !

Do not visit Wokingham with a car.

I recently visited Wokingham to visit my friend whose husband had recently died. I used the train to travel from Cambridge and my friend drove us to the Town Centre and we used a car park. I decided to pay and I used my card. I could not understand the instructions and enlisted help from a local who also struggled as I needed to check in. I entered the reg number and tapped my card and received a notice and checked in. On return I tried to check out but the machine seemed to go into melt down. Then my friend realised she had a parking fine. So my advise is never visit Wokingham by car as you will most likely get fined. It’s the worse example of a parking machine that I have seen in the world. It is totally ellegible instructions and I am slightly dyslexic. I can even understand Italian car parks in Italian easier than Wokingham in English. Sorry Wokingham council you need to audit your systems for operational effectiveness from a user perspective. I believe your ethics policy is not being met with this system

Polehampton close car park Twyford

Polehampton close car park Twyford

Avoid!I had the misfortune to park there on 12th August and got hit with a parking charge notice, the signage is very unclear stating at the top from 6am-6pm Monday-Sunday then on the right side it states charges apply 24/7 I think you need to be a member of mensa to work out what you should be paying when!Added to my bad day someone drove into the side of my car and drove off leaving me with a large repair bill!I contacted the council to see if there was any cctv which there is’nt and they seemed more concerned to remind me that I parked at ‘owners risk’which I think I was well aware of!I could just be being cynical but I read a newspaper report recently which suggested there had been 159PCNs in this car park over the last year, could it be revenue opportunities I wonder?
A further observation I find it interesting that the council could afford parking enforcement officials but absolutely no security which to my mind begs the question as to what we are paying for in a car park which 3 months ago used to be free at evenings and weekends!

Wokingham traffic wardens are ruining…

Wokingham traffic wardens are ruining this town. Since the town had a revamp which was a waste of money all the shop keepers are finding it very hard to earn a living. That is because of all the traffic wardens In town and car park charges these people are not playing fair..they give no grace. Most towns have 1 or 2 but not Wokingham they have 10 of them that seem to work 24/7. If this is to carry on we will not have a town and they will not have a job. problem is the council. This is the way they make the most money. A bit of free parking might save it..I have travelled all round England and Wokingham is the only place I know that is so strict on parking.. and the wardens don't seem to know the law on motorbike parking. These people are so Corrupt. This is not a joke this needs to stop...

Rat infestations approved by Wokingham…

Rat infestations approved by Wokingham council.
I'm not sure where to begin really. Back in 2015 when I asked for assistance regarding a suspected rat infestation of my semi detached home they were very helpful. The EHO did a thorough investigation and gave advice. We did everything to protect the property and numerous pest control companies later the rats are still in the house causing damage.
Fast forward to autumn 2021 and I sort assistance from them again as the staining on the bay window ceiling (apparently from the rat laterine in the roof space!) had significantly grown worse. This time a visit from 3 EHOs closed with me being told to shut up about the problem. I was in shock and so upset. It has slowly increasingly damaged my health re nervous system. I'm repeatedly walloped by Covid and I am very careful to protect myself and loved ones. I suspect the resident rat population are bringing it in the property.
I finally plucked up the courage to speak to an EHO again (summer 22) and this time they didn't want to know. They wouldn't investigate the properties they claimed back (they sent a letter) in december 2021 were involved in the rat infestation issue. They were actually being rude to me in communications.
Who knows when justice will prevail and my adjoining neighbours will be fined for supporting a rat colony. I am convinced after many consulations and research by myself that my well looked after home is secure.

A waste of oxygen.

Wokingham Council are a waste of space. I have lived in Wokingham for 30 years and have never had a good experience with them. The most recent is it has taken them 3 years to do sweet fanny adams about the rat infestation in my neighbours house. The sooner we are allowed to withold council tax payments for poor service the better - they would all be out of a job in weeks. A complete joke, every year they demand more money and straight away the service declines.

More incompetence

Big hole dug in the main road through Spencer’s Wood before Christmas with three way traffic lights put in place. Still there, best part of two weeks later, with no sign of the job being completed nor any further work done. More incompetence and bad planning

Excellent road works

Too much negativity towards WBC. The recently completed resurfacing and white lining works around University Bridge, Black Boy roundabout and Lower Earley Way are superb a real credit to WBC and their contractors. Well done, keep it up.

Disappointing

It seems they are only interested in ruling people strictly, and collecting money. No common sense, no empathy, no community spirit. Public services are a joke. Road works and traffic a nightmare.
Very disappointing.
