ANOTHER update Aug. 2024
What a surprise - still waiting. Mr. Mackay stated in his reply in May "we cover all and do return to jobs if there is any issue on our jobs". Obviously NOT THE CASE.
Update May 2024
Just received the following "reply" from the company - it is always somebody else's fault. Initially didn't turn up as agreed, without any notice from them. Waited weeks for re-scheduled visit, not being able to get a proper invoice or receipt, not being able to contact us as they had lost our details even though we were suffering water ingress into the bothy and the steading as a result of their faulty work and now as you will see from the response below, still somebody else's fault for not honouring their guarantee. Will Google Maps accept MINUS Stars?
Response from the owner 3 days ago
It’s not all easy going at this end with vehicle and employees issues we will see to all of our work or any issues we cover all and do return to jobs if there is any issues on our jobs, The issue jobs has been with me using sub contractors Sorry for any inconvenience Regards Iain
Update April 2024
Given their recent advertising on Facebook you would think they would look after existing customers who have deposited thousands of pounds into their bank account. Obviously the "guarantee" for their work is absolutely worthless. As far as the company, they are, at best, a bunch of cowboys. STILL waiting for a reply about problems with their previous work, SUPPOSEDLY under guarantee..
Update April 2024
Sadly another less than positive update. Had to write to the company on January 4th of this year informing them of faults to some of the work they had carried out, resulting in water ingress into our bothy and steading. Had a reply saying they would be in touch after their Christmas break. Waited until the 16th and wrote again. Had a reply the following week asking for our contact details again. Wrote back on the 30th January and have since heard nothing. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised given our history with the company. Looks like I am going to have to pay another company to rectify the faults. So much for their guaranteed work. I think I am being really generous in giving two stars - certainly not for the management of the company but for all of the rest of the work done by the guys who came to our house.
Update November 2022
Work done and the team who came obviously knew their job. They seem to have done an excellent job, though time alone will confirm this. Sadly dealings with the company were far from smooth. Initially had to chase them to get a start date. When we did get one they didn't turn up, due, we were told, eventually, to a previous job overrunning. (A quick 'phone call or email informing us of the situation would have been both helpful and courteous) Our work was rescheduled for a few weeks later. Finally, problems with trying to get a proper invoice resulting in us being labelled awkward customers in an email from one of the directors. The cheque for £4000+, paid immediately on receiving the so-called invoice, we eventually received, resulted in a scribbled note/"receipt" on a copy of an email I sent to them. Sadly not on company headed notepaper as I would have expected. Given our previous hassle with this director I did not think it worth the hassle of pursuing this as I had this "RECEIPT" and of course proof via online banking that this had been paid. Not, I would suggest, the normal way a company would conduct its business.
If we had another job I would happily use the workers again if I could hire them directly, but wouldn't contemplate using the firm. Five stars for the workers, three stars I think is quite generous for the company.
Initial comment.
Found the company through a local "handy pages" booklet. They came round very promptly to look at the work needed and a written quotation was received within a couple of days. The gentleman who surveyed the roof was obviously very knowledgeable and we have accepted their quote. We now await a time frame to get the work done.
