Active Robots , do not buy off this company made an order for an esc , said 2 in stock , paid next day DPD, nothing not even an email , so asked to cancel nothing , so I thought I’d ring , no answer , emailed again nothing , so I’m warning people about this company Active Robots, do not trust them , as can you imagine if something did go wrong , no help here , and I had bought something not like a general question ……

Since found out ,he had no stock of what I bought …

Another haul of Phidgets arrived and I'm a very happy bunny. Ignore the previous muppet who looked up the wrong company id - this is Active Robots (Retail) Ltd and they are pretty awesome. Always have good service and prompt deliveries (usually via DPD with accurate tracking, no Evri pain here)

The company is in liquidation yet their website is imorally taking orders. I'm going to try and get PayPal to return my money so I can buy my product elsewhere.

They don’t have any customer support at all and don’t reply to emails. I’ve written to them numerous times about an issue with an order not arriving (on the email listed on their website) and haven’t had a response. Thankfully my bank are doing a charge back, but it’s just a total waste of time.

Caveat emptor - don’t deal with this company.

How refreshing it was for me, Brian Boitano, to find out that not all Robots are Evil Kings. I am of course referring to my infamous battle with Evil Robot King, in which I obviously prevailed.

I digress, but I came here to show my support for Active Robots. They may not be Friendly Robots, but their sheer rate of activity fills me, Brian Boitano, with pride. I do not know what I would have done if I did not have the assistance of these incredibly Active Robots during the construction of the pyramids, notoriously tough work!

Active Robots, so long as you never produce an Evil King version of your Robot, I promise that I, Brian Boitano, will defend your honour with my skates and my sword.

Ordered high value goods which were "supposed" to be signed for on delivery. No delivery ever made or signed for even though they claim UPS have proof of delivery. Still not received goods and any satisfactory explanation over 2 weeks later. Customer service poor. Communication non-existent. They take your money, do not deliver the goods ordered then ignore you when you raise a query.

Fast delivery even outside UK. I'm from the Netherlands and active robots sell parts that are not on stock somewhere else in Europe.
This is a store with a heart for the customer.

They are the only uk based option for a lot of parts so not a lot of choice unfortunately. They give no option for second class delivery on their website and contrary to their reply below I phoned them up and they told me that they only do first class recorded delivery even on an item worth less than the delivery cost which I found very unreasonable.

The fact that they don't offer the selection of second class postage on the website is just unexceptable, and if you do phone up to ask for second class postage their not very helpful either. Complete rip off having to pay over £4 for one small item.

In school, my son was introduced to LEGO robotics. He finished school explaining how much fun he had learning with them. He asked me could have a set for home. After searching for a few sites, I came across Active robots. They were great and there was more than enough advice on site and blogs to help know buying the LEGO was a great idea for my son. I ordered them and although it can be quite pricey- it was well worth it. My son has learnt a number of skills. Very pleased with them, delivery was quick and product great. Highly recommend the service to all!

I first started buying from Active Robots at least 10 years ago when they were still called Total Robots. I was a just a teenager interested in the tiny, solar-powered BEAM robotics kits of which they were the main UK importer. I must have bought and built dozens of robots, and ordered piles of electronic components from them over the years to build those tiny little robots. Now a decade later, I'm just about to finish my Electronics Engineering Masters degree at Loughborough University, and it just so happens that the type of robotics kit commonly used at Loughborough is the LynxMotion robots, of which Active Robots is also the main UK importer! So I've made quite a few purchases of parts and kits from them over the years. I've always received first class service from Active Robots, they've always been keen to help me with enquiries about parts and technical details when I've called or emailed them, postal dispatch is always prompt, never been disappointed. I will certainly be using them again in future as I just can't get enough of those tiny little solar robots to which I owe most of the soldering skills and basic electronic knowledge I have today.
