Both my boys worked with Kelly Schwarz on the high school admission exams and the ACT/ SAT. Kelly was able to quickly hone in on where they needed work and focus on those areas. More importantly, she related well to my children and seemed to instill a sense of calm and confidence that they took with them into each of their exams. The real proof of Kelly's skill is in her results. After working with my boys, they each achieved their desired results. In fact, my boys' faith in Kelly is so strong that my older son reached out to her about advice for the MCAT. She does not tutor for that, but took the time to do some research and offer some suggestions. Kelly is a great tutor!

As my twins approach high school graduation this week, I'm reflecting on how much Jay Resh and his crew has had to do with their success. Far more than helping prepare for those all-important standardized tests, Jay's coaches helped our kids (each with their own distinct learning style) understand how to study, learn, remember, and prioritize information. Honing critical analysis skills in a one-on-one setting helped my kids immeasurably with all their subjects and, perhaps as importantly, with life outside the classroom. I highly recommend to anyone starting high school: get to know Advantage Testing early on, and consider Jay and company part of your kids' educational team. We did and are now in a position to see what a good decision that was.

Patrick Hanley is an extremely intelligent and knowledgeable tutor. More importantly, he has the amazing ability to make very difficult subject matter understandable so that students retain the information. Best of all, Patrick truly cares about his students. He gives 110% to make sure his students succeed. He always responds to questions and provides great advice and preparation for standardized testing. Patrick makes sure all his students have the academic tools needed to succeed. I have experience with many different tutors and Patrick is absolutely the very best. Thank you, Patrick!

Kelly was amazing! My daughter worked with her for several months prior to taking the ISEE test. She focused my daughter's sessions to the areas that she was more deficient in so that she can work on raising her scores on those areas. Kelly's advices and suggestions were spot on. She even contacted me to book the test early because testing spots were going quickly.
Kelly was easy to work with and my daughter said that she was very good and very patient at explaining difficult concepts to her. Kelly was a professional and was flexible with schedules, etc. But more importantly, she truly cared about her students and really want them to do well.
My daughter got into her dream HS and we know this would not have happened without Kelly's help. She was absolutely critical to her acceptance to this elite HS. Finally, Kelly showed my daughter that she is actually pretty good in those areas she thought were her weaknesses. The confidence she instilled in her to tackle those subjects is priceless.

Kelly McDowell is an AMAZING tutor. He tutored both of our kids for the ISEE exam. He made both kids feel at ease while still challenging them. Both of them got into their first choice for middle school and were thrilled. Kelly is phenomenal, and I would highly recommend them.

A friend recommended Advantage Testing for my son who was interested in tutoring in physics in order to participate in the Physics Olympiad competition and I could not have been happier with our choice. Dr Jay Resh has been an excellent tutor and although this was something outside of the regular curriculum, he prepared completely individualized lesson plans adjusted fully to the level and pace of my son, making the teaching time reach maximum efficiency. Dr Resh is very knowledgeable and responsible and he can make complicated things appear simple. It was definitely worth it.

We started working with Kelly McDowell in the fall of 2018. Kelly was tutoring my son for the ISEE . Kelly was very thorough going over the material with my son, he worked patiently with him helping him with concepts and also testing techniques to help him with the exam. Kelly did such a great job with prepping my son for the ISEE that we decided to continue working with Kelly so he can tutor my son on advanced math. It’s been three years now and my son meets with Kelly at least 2 times a month. Kelly understands how my son learns and tailors his tutoring accordingly.

We have been very happy with Advantage Testing and will continue to use their services.

We have 4 children ages 18,17,14 and 13. All 4 have used the tutoring services with various tutors whether it be test prep, essay writing or for assistance with homework and we have been pleased with every aspect. The tutors are exceptional. They relate well with my children and are extremely knowledgeable. My kids enjoy meeting with their tutors and look forward to their time with them. They have been an invaluable resource to our family and we are so grateful for advantage testing and their service. Our tutors are or have been Jarrod Ford, Yan Digilov, Gregor Brodsky and Jennifer Herbst. Love them all! We have had great results and I highly recommend their services.

We have been tutoring our two sons, now 8 and 6, at Advantage for several years, first with Sandy Reckles and for the past year and a half with Jay Resh as well. I cannot even express what a life changing experience we have had with both of them.

Sandy has been transformational for our kids. She is the sole reason why our kids are top readers and writers in their class. However, most importantly she has inspired an incredible love of learning and literacy in them. They both read non-stop and our older son started to write books last year as well. Sandy’s teaching enabled them to read ahead of their grade and therefore their learning has been exponential in every other aspect - science, history, biology, space, art, etc. They adore learning and Sandy’s lessons are the highlight of their week! They are always excited when they wake up on the lesson days and have a huge smile on their faces after the lesson. During the pandemic, Sandy was working with us remotely, she was hands down the best online instructor. My boys did not miss a beat, I don’t know how she did it, but they were so excited to learn even with Sandy being just ‘online’. She is a life saver, she is an exceptional educator, she is absolutely irreplaceable, Sandy truly is part of our learning life for years so far and we hope many more years to come!

Jay has been an epic turning point for our older son. While Jay generally tutors older kids, he has been an incredible influence on our 8 year old son. Our son always asks when he will have Jay’s lesson and looks forward to it all week! He always reports back after his class on what interesting experiment they did or what math ‘trick’ he learnt! Jay is able to explain incredibly complex topics in an understandable manner and in a way where my son continues his curiosity beyond the lesson and seeks to learn more and dig deeper. I do not know how he can make a 7-year old kid so excited about science so that he starts reading Stephen and Lucy Hawking books, but he did it! Jay is an incredibly influential and irreplaceable person in our son’s life and we are just ‘wowed’ by his work and inspiration!

Education is of the utmost importance to our family and Advantage has been an irreplaceable part of our children’s journey! We look forward to many more years ahead with Sandy and Jay!

I have worked with a few tutors at Advantage Testing. All have been incredibly helpful in my learning endeavors. Jay Resh is caring and probably the smartest man I ever met in my life. I aced the ACT due to his excellent work with me. Jay and Dejan helped me excel in my college engineering courses. They break down problems and learning objectives extremely well. Jay also helped me score in the 99th percentile for the LSAT. If you listen and actively engage in the sessions offered by the geniuses at Advantage Testing and you put in the work, you will be tremendously successful in your academic efforts. Further, they teach you how to think critically outside of the scope of academia. If you want your kid to get the best help available, Advantage Testing is the place to go.

My son has been tutored by Barbara Farley for 6 years (since 4th grade). I am not sure there are words to describe the positive impact that Barbara has had on my son’s academic success. We initially hired Barbara to assist with my son’s reading skills but have continued used to use her for standardized testing and ongoing tutoring with math. He is now a 9th grade student at a highly competitive high school and is an A student. More importantly is confident and engaged. Barbara is not only a tutoring but an incredible mentor . He looks forward to his tutoring sessions every single time.

When I began the process of looking for an ACT/SAT tutor for my oldest child I was immediately referred to Kelly McDowell at Advantage Testing. Kelly works directly with your child for tutoring, planning, scheduling and practice tests. There are no arguments between the parent and student which is such a bonus. He also makes sure they understood what they need to do to be successful during the tutoring time and on testing day. I was so comfortable that Kelly had a handle on my kids and that he was keeping them on task that I was able to back off during the whole process. All three of my children had multiple choices when it came to college decisions. I highly highly recommend Kelly McDowell.
