CAUTION: No customer service whatsoever

Made a reservation. Needed to cancel just a few hours later. The website says you can only cancel by submitting a ticket through their online form or by phone. Their phone rings, picks up, puts you on hold for 30 minutes, then hangs up. It did this to me 7 times at varying times during their business hours. I could not reach a human. My submitted online form went unanswered. Gate agent told me that those are the only methods you can use to contact the airlines. She could not help. Use Aeroitalia with great caution. I had to deny the charge to my credit card in order to get a refund.

Problems

Problems, unnecessary delays, human error, really bad management. Suggerisco un cambiamento radicale al livello di “operations”. You need clearer guidelines for check-in and boarding procedures. Hire anyone with an MBA from a serious school and he/she will get the issues fixed in 3 months. This flight Rome-Olbia 4 September 13.40 was a disaster!

I bought an Aeroitalia ticket from…

I bought an Aeroitalia ticket from booking.com. I am always doing online check in. So, checked Itinerary for that and it redirected me to go to Aeroitalia website. However, there was no option for check in. I even couldn’t find my reservation. So, I went to the airport to do check in there. But I was told that you have to pay for check in. I had to pay €35 for the check in. They didn’t even refer in the itinerary that I have to pay for it if I have to check in at the airport.

BEWARE!!! WORST AIRLINE THERE IS...

If I could give this airline a 0 I would. WORST AIRLINE OUT THERE. Booked a flight with them from Rome to Catania. They cancelled my flight after delaying for hours, leaving me stranded in the airport with 2 toddlers and first words out of the supervisors mouth (after waiting 45 mins for her to arrive) were "Everyone pack your bags and go home". Terrible terrible customer service all around. When you call their customer service line you wait a considerable amount of time just to get someone very rude that hangs up on you. Save yourself the money and hassle and book elsewhere. WORST AIRLINE I'VE EVER DEALT WITH BY FAR!

I flew from Bergamo

I flew from Bergamo, Italy to Bacau, Romania and back. I am utterly disgusted with the experience. By far, it was the worst airplane I have ever flown in my entire life! Everything looked dirty and broken inside, and the outside was just as bad, filthy, and rusty. I don't understand how it is possible that such an airplane is still in use! One star is far too much; it easily deserves zero stars!

Simple and hassle free.

I’ve seen the other reviews before flying and thought that my experience would be horrible and it wasn’t so I came here to write my own review. I had a flight from Rome to Alghero and everything went very smooth. Managed to do check in online without a problem. At the airport I already had my boarding pass so didn’t have to go to check in counter and went directly to security checks and then onto the plane. The flight was on time, the plane was spacious, clean, aircon was on. The staff was courteous. The only thing I have to complain about is that you had no other choice but to pay for a seat in order to do the check in online but in the end it’s a low cost airline. Overall I’ll rate my experience as simple and hassle free.

Save your sanity and avoid this airline.

Never, ever again.

Let me start by saying I'm in the US so maybe that complicates things. I booked a round trip flight for 6 people and a lap infant from Fiumicino to Palermo. After my initial booking I had some questions. I initiated several service tickets and got automated replies that I was number whatever and an agent would get back to me. I never received a single reply. Not one.
I also emailed. Nothing.
I tried their messaging service. Nothing.
Finally I called and was on hold as "first in line" for 30 minutes. Still noone responded. That call cost me $50.

With no choice but to wing it, we flew to Rome from Newark on 8/6. There were serious delays departing due to weather and i knew we would miss our connection. We tried reaching Aero to see if they could help but they were closed for the night. They say they allow "free" changes online but every option was going to be at least €800 more. I ignorantly believed they would help me if I could just get a representative seeing as how it was a delay.
When we finally arrived in Rome, our Aeroitalia flight to Palermo was long gone and the representatives at the airport said there was absolutely nothing they could do as they are not affiliated with any other airline.
I had to book 6 expensive last minute tickets on ITA. Should have just used them from the get go.
Anyway....the saga continues.
Our return flight from Palermo to Rome on Aero had its own challenges.
We get to the airport and are told that we have to pay an additional €35 per person because we did not use the online check in. There was no mention of HAVING to do this anywhere in their extremely limited communication. They made it seem as though it was a convenience tool but I was having phone connectivity issues and figured it would just be easier in person. When I asked the representative, he apologized and said it's on the website. We also had to pay an inordinate amount each to bring our carryon luggage on board. I was so frustrated and exhausted at this point I just capitulated.

The planes also don't come to the terminal. You must take a sardine packed bus to the tarmac in Palermo and again in Rome.

Whatever you THINK you are saving by flying this airline will end up costing you you triple and your sanity.

they completely SCAMMED us about hidden payments. They hid the payments from us, and then at the airport told us to pay but it was never explained before.
They don’t use

Endless bogus fees

Endless bogus fees charged for nonsense. Must check in 3+ hours before flight using the app. Website often fails to function. Toilets locked during entire hour+ flight due to supposed (but non existent) "turbulence." Avoid if possible.

Aussies say avoid!

Firstly flight was brought ahead without notice, secondly check in extremely slow, not enough staff and many times staff having casual conversations between passengers resulting in many passengers running to boarding, bags sent to destination on a different flight to the one we were booked on, no sickness bags in back of seat and scary landing! Also got told we needed to pay to have our hand luggage stowed above us during the flight, and we were not allowed to use headphones for 25 min up and 25 min down during flight. Avoid this airline. Jetstar and Rex airlines in Aus seem luxury in comparison.

ECCELLENTE! Che dire poi della cabina di pilotaggio affidata al cpt Giavalisco? professionalità, esperienza ed affidabilità si toccano con mano, soprattutto nelle fasi di decollo ed atterraggio, Infine, tanto per non guastare volo in perfetto orario! Bravi tutti. Continuate così!

EXCELLENT! Flight XZ2514, from Alghero to Rome on August 18; perfect and impeccable service on board starting from Michele and Efisio and then all the other members of the crew... new and very clean airplane. What can I say about the cockpit led by cpt Giavalisco? professionalism, experience and reliability are tangible, especially during take-off and landing. Finally, just to not spoil the flight was on time! Well done everyone. Keep it up!

Worst airline in the Avionics Transportation industry

Running an airline should be a very serious, ethical and professional business. Leaving these low cost airlines run a business to ruin tourist life and disrupt business people should be considered illegal.

International Avionics Transportation Authorithy should revoke the company license due to their continuous and unjustified flight cancellations, the conditions they maintain their aircrafts and the total incompetence of their personnel.
A book could be written on how not to Run an Airline and they can use Aeroitalia as the perfect example.

This company changed our flight times…

This company changed our flight times like they change their underwear. Seriously the rudest supervisor (Daniela Taraborelli) of my life, my husband suffers from panic attacks and once checking in he asked if we can have our seats not all the way in the back but more towards the front. You won’t believe the nerve Daniela had.. not only was she giving my husband a extremely difficult kind but she had very little sympathy for his situation telling my husband he needs proof of his condition and even saying “He just doesnt want to pay for a better seat”… nasty woman. Not only have we been waiting here for 9 hours(due to a flight change on this company, originally was only supposed to be 5 hours layover. they also within the last hour delayed our 9:25pm flight to Catania to 11:15pm WITH NO email, notifications, nothing. We also asked them if we could be placed on the 3:20pm flight from Rome to Catania since we had flown from Alghero to Rome and arrived at 12:30pm but they didn’t care to help, no one answers the phone at the customer service, then after 45minutes on hold they tell us $178 a person to change the flight to the earlier time… they are out of their mind originally our flight from Alghero to Rome was at 3:30pm arriving at Rome at 4:30pm but they had moved it to 11:10am and we have been stuck at Fiumicino for +9 hours and by the time we get on our flight to Catania it will be 11 hours. The absolute worse company.

Never received a refund

After three months, I haven’t received the refund I was expecting.
They stopped getting back to my emails. The line to talk to them via phone is usually of 20+ people.
They should not be given the responsability to operate flights to and from Sardinia, under the ‘continuità territoriale’ scheme.
