Excellent service
Excellent service, I rang up to enquire about a car I had seen on autotrader, the salesman on the other sode of the phone was a brilliant help and I gave him a refundable deposit for the vehicle over the phone. I collected my car a week later and I am still driving it around and loving every minuet of it. I would highly recormend Affordable Cars Driffield to anyone!
Great service from start to finish
10 out of 10 Great service from start to finish
I am very disappointed by the service I…
I am very disappointed by the service I received from Affordable cars Driffield. I purchased my Nissan Qashqai in January and it has caused me nothing but trouble since. It has been towed twice and has cost over £1000 on the three times in has been to the garage so far and the garage also informed me the car has been fixed in the past with poor quality cheap parts. Things I was not made aware of when purchasing. When the first break occurred and I rang asking for the warranty number they said they would get back to me and never did I rang on numerus occasions. When I did finally receive the warranty number they were no help what so ever and each time I have been told I am not covered for such issues. I sought advice about my treatment and was helped to draft a letter which was sent a week ago there has been no contact made. This is the first time I have been to a garage and must say I wont be returning. Very disappointed.
**AVOID** terrible service
I purchased a mini cooper 1.6 petrol 2010 WM59 OOD car from Affordable Cars (Driffield) Ltd along with one year’s warranty; below is the recorded events of the service I received from your business.
26th March – We view car and paid £50.00 refundable deposit on condition the wheels were done as they were very tatty and agreed that we could collect on the 9th April allowing plenty of time for preparation.
28th March – emailed sales to ask about the V5 number to sort the road tax, advised it’s was ok that ‘don’t worry about the tax we tax the cars on site before you leave’
6th April – car should have been available to collect; it wasn’t as it failed its MOT so I still made the journey to Driffield on the bus to sort out the finance and I was given a different car to use as I had cancelled my insurance to move over and sold my previous car.
I will say up to this point the service was fine and perfectly acceptable.
9th April – Told the car was on its way and would be with me at 4pm; it wasn’t and I got a call at 4.25pm to say the tracking needs doing and it would now be tomorrow the 10th April.
10th April – Told the car has set off and was on its way and would be with me at 4pm; I got a call at 5.45pm to say it wasn’t because it couldn’t be taxed because the Paperwork was wrong and they had no V5 with the current vehicle registration on it.
10th April text my bank details to Danny for my refundable deposit to be returned after enquiring again about how I got it back – received no response.
16th April – Vehicle taxed but not delivered again because apparently they had noticed the wheels were rough (see 26th March!!) and the wheels were still wet.
17th April – Car finally arrives, I enquire about when I will receive my deposit to be told it had been used to tax the vehicle; there had been no previous discussion other than the email I received on the 28th stating ‘We tax the car’ and no response to my requested regarding my deposit. The wheels were painted while still on the car, over the bolts and all with spray on the tyres when my husband went to take them off he physically moved the car forward; had these been left and the wheels needed to be removed for a puncture they would not have been able to get the wheel off I could have been left in a very dangerous situation. The wheels were so disappointing and naff we have purchased some alloys for it the originals are worth lass now in the defaced state than the original chipped condition. And no spare key was provided even though it was the first line of the advert (I have a screen shot as I sent it to my husband)
The car arrived with scratches on the roof please see pictures below which weren’t there when we viewed it along with a chip in the windscreen, this car allegedly has passed a MOT with two different rated tyres on the front and back which should have be an automatic fail.
When Danny called after I emailed with my concerns and disappointment at the whole experience I was shouted at down the phone and told they would cancel the road tax and I could go arrange it myself (which I can’t because I have no paperwork what so ever) and give me my refund… ‘Is that what I want? Is it? Is that what you want?’
25th April I purchased the warranty and to date I am still awaiting the paperwork for that and the second spare key that the car was advertised with. I have Emailed Nick but had no response.
26th April I received a call from Adrian, he asked what I wanted to put this right and I advised that I would like to be paid £50.00 to replace the key as it was false advertising and not brought to my attention that it was incorrect until the car was delivered and it was t late to withdraw from the deal.
28th April after not hearing anything from Adrian the after sales manager I rang again for an update he said he would speak with Mr Tate the Director that morning and get back to me.
29th April I had to ring again as Adrian had not gotten back to me to be told that I need to email Mr Tate with everything I have already discussed several time with Adrian or Danny at some point.
30th April I email Mr Tate the contents of this review.
30th April Mr Tate replied to my email suggesting I owe £28 the difference from my deposit and road tax that they used without my authority, this is astounding and a clear indication of the appalling service received.

So here it is an absolute catalogue of disasters of my experience buying a car from Affordable Cars (Driffield) Ltd; purchasing a new car is meant to be a pleasurable, exciting experience and this most certainly has not been.
