1 Star – Legacy Mekong Can Tho (Stay: August 4–5, 2026)
I have been an Agoda VIP customer for years, but this experience has completely eroded my trust in Agoda’s pricing transparency and customer service.
My booking was for Legacy Mekong Can Tho for August 4–5, 2026, for three guests.
Agoda quoted 3,969,000 VND for 2 guests and 5,670,000 VND for 3 guests. Naturally, I understood that the higher price already covered the third guest.
Only after the booking was confirmed did I discover, in small print buried in the booking confirmation, that I might still have to pay an additional 1,701,000 VND directly to the hotel for the third guest.
The biggest issue is not the amount itself—it’s Agoda’s refusal to answer the most basic question:
If the 3-guest rate is already 1,701,000 VND higher than the 2-guest rate, what exactly is that additional 1,701,000 VND paying for?
I asked this question repeatedly. Not a single Agoda representative answered it. Instead, every response avoided the question and simply told me that I should have checked the final booking page before confirming payment.
That is not customer service. It is avoiding accountability.
The information about the extra charge was placed in tiny print in an unusual place within the booking confirmation rather than being made clear when the price for three guests was displayed. This gave me the impression that Agoda expected customers to overlook an important additional charge. If the charge is valid, it should be presented prominently and explained clearly before payment—not buried in fine print after the booking.
As an Agoda VIP customer, I expected transparency and honest communication. Instead, Agoda ignored my questions, refused to explain its pricing, and shifted the responsibility onto me.
I am still waiting for Agoda to explain:
* Why the 3-guest booking costs 1,701,000 VND more than the 2-guest booking.
* Why I am then expected to pay another 1,701,000 VND for the third guest.
* What the initial 1,701,000 VND price increase was actually for.
Until Agoda can provide a logical explanation, I cannot trust that the prices shown during booking reflect the true amount customers will ultimately be required to pay.
Transparency and honesty should be the foundation of any booking platform. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with Agoda.

Very good prices, and flexible cancellation on many bookings
Good range of hotels offered, booking procedure straightforward easy procedure to follow.
Easy to make bookings on the website and very user friendly. However, It would be helpful to have a "twin room" option in filters
Agoda has limited ability to help customer whenever the customer needs a help. Very unhelpful assistance and all customer rep sent the same response. No one is really working for customer. I suggest the customer should bypass Agoda and book the accomodation by themselves.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience using Agoda. What should have been a straightforward booking process turned into one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I have ever had.
The company appears to prioritize policies and revenue over fairness and genuine customer support. Every interaction felt designed to make it as difficult as possible to resolve a simple issue, while additional fees, restrictive terms, and inflexible responses created the impression that customers are treated as opportunities for profit rather than people.
The lack of transparency throughout the process was particularly concerning. Important conditions were either not communicated clearly enough or only became apparent when it was too late. Instead of taking responsibility or offering reasonable solutions, customer support repeatedly referred to policies that left no room for common sense or goodwill.
From my perspective, this pattern of behavior feels manipulative. Rather than helping customers when problems arise, the system seems structured to maximize financial gain at every stage while minimizing accountability. That experience left me feeling misled and without meaningful support.
I chose Agoda because I expected a reliable travel platform. Instead, I was left feeling that customer satisfaction is a secondary concern compared to protecting company profits.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Agoda to anyone looking for a trustworthy booking platform. There are many alternatives that value transparency, fairness, and customer service far more than what I experienced here. I will not be using Agoda again.

Easy to navigate the website. Huge amount of choice from small budget units to luxury ones.
Agoda is great reliable and I get cheap deals thank you
I booked a property in Perpignan, France through Agoda for August. The Agoda listing displayed, under Top Amenities, both "Free parking" and "Front desk [24-hour]". Neither is true. Parking is chargeable and the front desk is not staffed around the clock. Those two amenities were the entire reason I chose this property over others, because we were arriving by car late at night after a long drive.
I raised this with Agoda support. The agent apologised multiple tipes for the misleading information and for the property not responding, then refused to cancel or refund because the booking is non-refundable. I asked straightforward questions: what I am supposed to do if we arrive at night and there is no reception to check us in, and whether Agoda would arrange alternative accommodation if we cannot get into the property. None of them were answered. I contacted the property directly as well and received no reply.
That is the part I would want other travellers to understand. A non-refundable policy is reasonable when the booking matches its description. Using it to keep payment for a booking sold on amenities the property does not provide, after your own agent has acknowledged in writing that the information was misleading, is not customer service but a script.

While traveling I searched online to find a hotel for a couple night stay. I thought I was booking a room through Trivago, but it turned out it was Agoda. I booked the hotel and when I checked out the hotel gave me a copy of the receipt. Much to my surprise the receipt from the hotel was nearly $100.00 cheaper than the charge from Agoda. When I finally returned home, I contacted Agoda but all you can get is an AI chatbot. To make a long story short I was told that's what we charge. You can't reach a person no phone number no nothing. I paid almost $100.00 in taxes and fees and the hotel bill showed I only paid $28.35 in taxes and the charge for the room was 60 some dollars less than the cost of the room that Agoda charged. I know a booking agency does charge a fee to use their site, but this was extreme and I actually wonder if they actually pay the same amount of taxes they charge you. Agoda is absolutely terrible, AVOID them or kiss your money goodbye.

The worst booking company I have ever dealt with.
I have traveled all over the world for many years and have booked hundreds of hotels through different platforms. This is the first time I have ever experienced something like this.
I booked and paid for a room for 2 adults and 2 children through Agoda. However, when I arrived at the hotel, I was told that the reservation Agoda had sent to them included only 2 adults. The children, who were clearly included in my Agoda booking confirmation, were missing from the hotel's reservation.
As a result, I was forced to pay an additional $200 at check-in just to get the room I had already booked.
Before paying, I contacted Agoda customer service. They told me to pay the hotel, send the receipt, and they would refund me. I followed their instructions exactly and submitted the receipt, which clearly shows the extra payment. Instead of honoring what they promised, they started asking for additional documents that simply do not exist because the payment was made as a normal credit card transaction.
This is completely unacceptable. The mistake was clearly caused by Agoda, yet I am the one paying the price for it.
I have wasted time, money, and hours dealing with customer service while on vacation. A company that cannot correctly send a reservation to a hotel and then refuses to resolve its own mistake should not be in the travel business.
I will never use Agoda again, and I strongly recommend that everyone avoids booking through this company unless they want to risk having their vacation ruined.

Very good prices great stays and bonus cash to use on future stays. I use Agoda frequently with no issues what so ever.
I've been a customer for quite a while and have never had any issues before, but I strongly recommend not relying on the chatbot they use for customer support. Before cancelling my booking, I asked the chatbot whether I would receive a full refund, and it clearly confirmed that I would. I even have screenshots of the conversation as proof.
Later, I found out that I was not entitled to any refund after all. When I raised the issue with Agoda's customer support, they simply told me to read the terms and conditions, completely ignoring the fact that their own AI had provided incorrect information.
The Agoda team showed little interest in addressing the situation or taking responsibility for the misleading advice given by their chatbot. Customers should be able to trust the information provided by a company's official support system, especially when making important financial decisions.
ANSWER TO AGODA'S REPLY:
The issue has not been addressed. Your response only repeats that I should read the Terms & Conditions, while completely ignoring the fact that your AI chatbot clearly told me I would receive a full refund, including Agoda Cash, as shown in the screenshots I provided. After my Google Play review, you asked me to contact you privately to resolve the issue, but your reply was exactly the same: "Read the Terms & Conditions. We are unable to refund."

Booked twice, cancelled twice. Waste of time with this stupid agency. Avoid at all cost.
