Honestly one of the worst parking experiences I’ve had.

I entered the car park once, parked once, and left once — yet somehow I’ve been charged twice for the same stay. Their explanation? Different internal levels apparently count as separate “zones” with separate charges… even though you literally have to drive through those levels just to access things like EV charging.

Speaking of which — I paid separately for the EV charging, and the hotel was supposed to provide discounted parking as part of the stay. None of that seems to have mattered. The end result is still duplicate charges just for leaving my car there.

Signage wasn’t even in English, which makes it very hard for international visitors to understand these hidden technicalities. It really feels like a system designed to catch people out rather than help customers park fairly.

Customer service has mostly been copy-paste policy responses instead of any common sense or willingness to resolve something that is clearly disproportionate. After looking at other reviews, it seems I’m far from the only person who feels this way.

If you’re visiting Oslo — double check everything, take photos of signs, and honestly consider alternative parking if you can.

Urgent: You are holding our charging cable hostage. Our charging cable is stuck in your charger at Scandic Helsfyr, Oslo

Dear Aimo,

Our vehicle’s charging cable has been stuck in your charging station at Scandic Helsfyr (Oslo) since last Sunday. We need to know what steps are required to have it released and returned.

On our journey from Denmark to Idre, Sweden, we parked overnight and charged at your station. The next morning, our cable was jammed in the charger. With assistance from Scandic staff, we spent two hours attempting to free it without success. We have made over 20 calls to your customer service, the building owner (currently traveling in Germany), and Scandic—none have resolved the issue.
We are driving back to Denmark on Saturday. If it is not possible to retrieve the cable on our way home, we will file an official complaint with the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net).

Please let us know how to proceed!

Best,
Tina Skou

Dark pattern (deliberately manipulative…

Dark pattern (deliberately manipulative design) with EasyPark and "CameraPark" where you can't see the price before after you're done parking. If I knew the price of where I chose to park I wouldn't have stayed so long.
