Glad I'm home.

Just came back off a flight from havana to Madrid.
Plane was quite cramped with little leg room, an eight and a half hour flight with NO food provided just HALF a cup of black coffee.
No chance of buying any food aboard, nor drinks of any sort.
NEVER AGAIN.

The. Worst. Airline

AirEuropa gets my personal award for the worst airline to fly in Europe in business class.
- Their planes are filthy with unwashed seats, tray tables, air vents and greasy windows.
- The randomly change pre-selected seat allocation for business class passengers without notifying them.
- They lose the luggage of passengers in Madrid. In our case they have lost both of our suitcases, so it's not a one-off.
- Once you bring it up to their attention, they just say they will forward it to relevant departments *without* even asking for your information. Sure they will.

All of this happened in our first and last flights with this airline. We chose it because it's a member of Skyteam, and we have great experiences with KLM, but boy we were wrong.

In case they want to take down the review, I have evidence of all of the points above, which I'm happy to provide.

Worst airline ever

Worst airline ever. They remove your baggage you’ve already paid for when changing dates of a flight. Customer service are unhelpful and rude.

Minus rating if I could

This is by far the worst airline I have ever been on.
- First of all part of our travel group were denied boarding on our return from Dominican Republic because the airline had overbooked which is crazy that someone has booked their ticket and been denied.
- The staff are also very rude and have absolutely no customer service, you hardly see them on the flight they don’t answer any of the calls I couldn’t even get a cup of water on a long haul flight as they wouldn’t attend to me when I called them. The staff would pull the curtain at the back and we wouldn’t see them for most of the flight and we also noticed they were vaping in the back of the plane and playing on their phones which is unnacceptable. When you call them they act like it’s a burden.
- on arrival at Gatwick I also discovered they left my luggage in Madrid (which is where I got my connection flight) so now another issue of them tracking down my bag.

Food is also terrible.

Overall, if you want cramped seats, worst customer service, possibility of losing your luggage and also possibility of being denied entry on a flight you have a ticket for then maybe this flight is for you. But I wouldn’t recommend this airline to my worst enemy

A total disaster

A total disaster:
- 1 hour the first delay
- we then take-off but the airplane touches the ground with the tail
- so after 30 mins of flight it turns back to the original airport (1h flight wasted)
- the we spent 2.5 hours blocked inside the airplane without food (at this point 4 hours in total)
- we finally take off with almost 5h delay, without having received any food (just a glass of water)

Pésima experiencia

On December 12th, we departed from Madrid-Barajas with over two hours of delay, resulting in our arrival in Miami with the same delay. The Air Europa team arrived late for boarding, causing us to lose our place in the take-off queue and requiring us to join the line again.
Many of us missed our connecting flight in Miami, despite having more than 3 hours for the connection, which I have made dozens of times before. As it was the last flight of the day, there were no available flights until the following morning. Air Europa claims to provide support, but in reality, they offer neither food vouchers, nor hotel accommodation, nor anything at all.
Over the phone, I was informed that I was entitled to all of these benefits and reimbursement for the new ticket I had to purchase the next day. I spent the night in the airport, in the middle of winter and feeling quite cold. No one provided a voucher or hotel service.
When I submitted the claim for expenses and the new ticket, it took them a whopping two and a half months to respond!! This was only because I kept calling continuously; I am certain that had I not been persistent, they would never have responded, hoping it would be forgotten.
Their response, two and a half months later, is that they are sorry, they regret the bad experience, but they will not pay anything.
This is beyond abusive! They deny your claim outright because they know that at some point, you will become frustrated with battling against a brick wall and stop pursuing it. This way, they save themselves from any possible compensation payouts.
Do not use Air Europa; now you know what to expect. I am not alone; I know many others who have had the same experience with this airline.

No uses Air Europa; ahora sabes qué esperar. No es solo mi opinión; conozco a muchos otros que han tenido la misma experiencia con esta aerolínea.

Very kind and helpful

This review is for calling Air Europa in order to buy my tickets and fly with my pet (dog). I had to wait only for a minute or so for the call-center to answer my call and Karmelina was very kind and helpful!

Worst airline I've ever flown with

I have travelled extensively over the last 20+ years, but I am yet to experience a worse airline than Air Europa. Here is why.

• A couple of months after booking my flights, I was notified that my credit card information had been leaked in a data security breach. I contacted "customer service" to request more information, and to see what they would do to resolve the issue, but all of my messages were simply ignored. Not a great start.

• The in-flight staff were incredibly rude. If you work in a customer-facing environment like cabin crew, it is literally your job to be friendly and welcoming. Every time I so much as glanced or asked a question of their cabin crew, I was either glared at or answered in a rude and aggressive way.

• Their aircraft were dirty and in need of some maintenance. Toilet doors and overhead compartments not closing properly, trash on the floor and generally looking very rough around the edges.

• In-flight food was atrocious. Bland, minimal and only a single option (not great for a vegetarian when said option is chicken).

• Total cheapskates - they make you pay for awful headphones (3 EUR), as well as tea and coffee. Makes you strongly feel that they're looking to squeeze every possible penny out of you.

What I will say to close this out is that their check-in process was smooth, and their flights left on time. But that's kind of the bare minimum you can expect.

In sum, never ever ever again will I fly with this airline. A little cheaper than other options on the route I took, so it's a lesson learned that you get what you pay for.

Where do I begin?

Paid over 200E just for luggage (1st piece)! Cabin crew barely speak English. Charge you for headphones. Only one (terrible) meal served on a 10 hour flight, then have to buy snacks. Cabin crew don't check if anyone called them. One flight delayed 40 mins, another almost 2 hours.

Not even able to provide me with an invoice

Air Europa never sent me an invoice for the flight. I called them numerous times an still haven't had an invoice for a flight I took on 3rd of October... Almost 3 months ago... Additionally, I was not debited by Air Europa but by Adyen App so I can't even prove the payment thanks to my bank.
Now I cannot expense the flight with my company which means Air Europa made me lose almost 500 CHF.
Thank you for your amazingly lame service @Air Europa, I will never fly with you again.

The worst catering service ever

The worst catering service ever - many dogs are fed better!!! I was under the illusion that no airline could be worst than Iberia. How wrong I was! Air Europa is, at best, just as bad, otherwise worse. I purchased the tickets for a friend who travelled from Havana to La Coruña, and then from Brussels to Havana. The following is what happened during the return journey. The other was just as bad. No earphones offered. Had to pay for one. Only one so-called meal served, that consisted of a small piece of boiled chicken meat, and a scoop of heavily diluted purée about the size of the top of an ice cream cone, a piece of bread, and a small piece of something sweet that was supposed to be a desert. A small cup of either water or other liquid was also offered. One or the other, no right to both. Not having been served anything for hours, my friend made the almost fatal mistake of consuming what was served, and felt nauseated. She went to the back of the plane and pleaded for some water. Was initially refused, but at my friend's insistence, a stewardess very reluctantly gave her a plastic cup of water, but filled only half-full.
When serving coffee or tea, passengers are asked with sugar or milk, not both!!!
Conclusion : if you want to travel to Spain, do one of the following :
1. Avoid Spanish airlines
2. Bring your own meals. Unfortunately, due to unlimited stupidity of governments, you may not bring your own drinks unless you buy them from duty-free, but not profit-free.
3. Walk to Spain.

Ugh!

I had a five hour connection in Madrid to go to Santo Domingo. Five hours! When I arrived two out of three bags came off the carousel. How do you lose a 70lb purple bag in five hours? So beyond ridiculous. And their customer service just sYS “we are looking for it..l”

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER

Never in my life have I experienced such absolutely horrible customer service! I called on behalf of my partner, who was on an Air Europa flight that was severely delayed, connecting to an international Air Europa flight which he was now going to miss. I was calling to ask them if the international flight was going to be held or not. The woman on the phone could barely speak A1 level German, screamed at me, and refused to even let me ask my question. Then she hung up on me, after I waited for half an hour on their TOLL number. Avoid at all costs!! Solche Volltrottel habe ich nie im Leben erlebt!!!!

Extremely Disappointing Experience with AirEuropa

Last year, my partner and I had the unfortunate experience of travelling with AirEuropa, and it was nothing short of a nightmare. Our luggage never arrived at our destination, which completely ruined what was supposed to be an enjoyable trip to Miami (for 3 weeks without our luggage!!!). What was even more disappointing was AirEuropa's response to the situation.

Firstly, their customer service was abysmal. We were told to keep all our receipts, but eventually, this was all for nothing because they only offered 100 euros.
Their offer of a mere 100 euros as reimbursement was insulting. The value of the items in our lost luggage far exceeded this paltry sum, and it did not even come close to covering the inconvenience and distress we experienced due to their mishandling of our belongings.

Secondly, it was incredibly difficult to get in touch with a representative who could provide us with any information or assistance regarding our lost luggage. We spent countless hours on hold and were often met with unhelpful and uninformative responses when we did manage to speak to someone.

AirEuropa's lack of responsibility and commitment to customer satisfaction is evident in the way they handled this situation. It's clear that they prioritize their own bottom line over the well-being of their passengers. Losing luggage is a common occurrence in the airline industry, but the way an airline responds to such situations is a true measure of their quality and integrity, and AirEuropa failed miserably.

I strongly advise potential travellers to reconsider booking with AirEuropa unless you are willing to take a significant risk with your luggage and face the possibility of a difficult and unsatisfactory resolution in the event of any issues. Our experience with AirEuropa left us deeply disappointed and frustrated, and we will not be choosing this airline for our future travels.

Damaged luggage

I flew with this company in mid-January 2023. Since then I'm trying to get compensation for my suitcase which has been damaged during the flight.
From January 2023, they just ping-ponged emails and no ultimate action. In the end, they asked me to provide a receipt for the new suitcase purchase. However, it has no correlation with the fact that they broke my item as well as my budget and purchase plan is not their business. So first of all, they kept me up in the air, and since May, they just started to ignore me.
This company is not willing to meet commitments and responsibilities. Deeply frustrating customer service.

Bad Experience: Suma Platinum

I booked on Sept. 11th in late afternoon a Business flight from Europe to South America with Air Europa. Only the Business Standard fare, not the Business Flexible one, could be booked. I am a SUMA Platinum member.
At night, I noticed my last leg should end in London, not Zurich, and called the next morning at 9 am to ask for a rebooking of that last leg, something all airlines I normally fly with, allow within 24 hours without penalty.
To my unpleasant surprise, Air Europa interprets the 24 hour rule differently: it always ends at midnight, even if you had booked at 11 pm…, where 24 hours means just one hour. The lady in the call center would not make any exception, regardless of my flight in business class or my platinum status, nor accept a complaint, nor let me speak with her boss. Terrible service, I must say, particularly towards their (I guess not really) most valued customers! The cheapest rebooking option costs €38 if I simply add a new leg, and for that amount, Air Europa risks losing me permanently as a customer… The opposite of a smart policy and it shows that even if you have flown for over 100000 miles with Air Europa, you get treated the same as if it were your first flight in the cheapest economy tariff.

English:
I was going to travel with them soon, but due to a setback I was forced to request the cancellation of the flight the day after I booked it and 1 month before the date of the flight itself. Well, to my surprise, the intermediary agency (Booking) and Air Europa itself informed me that the reservation was non-refundable. According to them, since it is non-refundable, they will not refund me a single euro of the paid ticket. This seems to me to be EXTREMELY serious and should be brought to the attention of each and every one of the customers who are going to fly with them, so that they are completely clear about the trip before booking a flight with this company, since in case of cancellation they will lose their money completely.
