Refused entry to the flight because of a policy I was never told about, and they they only enforce sometimes

As I was travelling within Spain I did not think I needed my passport, only a valid form of I.D. This company allowed me on the plane to depart but 3 days later would not let me back on the return flight without my passport. I was stuck on an island due to a ‘policy’ that is stated absolutely nowhere and that they didn’t enforce for the departing flight, only the return one. Getting back cost me much more money and turned into a 14 hour catastrophe instead of a short 50 min flight. They are ignoring my emails about this and everyone was very rude at every step of the way.

All good, in time

Was a short haul connection via Madrid. Process of booking, checkin, invoicing etc. all perfect. Very well in time. Friendly staff. Looked clean and safe. Am actually thankful as am used to nightmares at Iberia. For me Air Europa was simply perfect.

I have been on around 100 long haul…

I have been on around 100 long haul flights in my life and Air Europa long haul is by far the worst . Do they have zero pride in their airline . Minimum food service with what looked like pasta and tomato ketup and a tiny piece of bread . After 8 hours service they came around with only tea and coffee and no food .
The plane was filthy from years of not keeping up with cleaning . Just pay a little extra and fly with a real airline

Absolute clowns

Absolute clowns. They didn't send me a receipt for my flight and I have been unable to get them to send me simple receipt as proof of payment despite multiple calls and e-mails. Their customer service is useless! Will not be flying with them again and I would recommend you don't fly with them either!

- they do not reply emails

- they do not reply emails
- they do not reply phone calls, in fact it always hangs up after a few minutes
- no breakfast on a 13 hour night flight, only coffee/tea
- very expensive flight tickets to Uruguay
- our stroller got broken after being checked in with Air Europa
- if you have a flight ticket and change the date. You have to pay for luggage again!

READ THIS BEFORE YOU BOOK A FLIGHT WITH AIR EUROPA

Flight Asuncion-Madrid. About 1 hour after take off,
Air Europa will give you what they call "lunch". Very little quantity, terrible quality! A disgrace, no respect at all for the customer. And after this nothing: they will not serve you any more food for about 10 hours, for the whole flight! For breakfast before arrival, they will only serve you a little instant coffee and water. When you will see the flight attendants, most likely it will be because they are trying to sell something. Even earphones are charged. Seats are very uncomfortable: you will be squeezed as Air Europa save as much space as possible to increase the number of seats. Toilets are never cleaned during the flight, disgusting and smelly. For long haul flights, for sure the worst European airline and one of the worst in the world. That was my first and last booking with them!

The worst!

Dear people,

Don't ever fly with air europa in your life! 1 drink on a 11 hour flight, dirty airplanes, 0 costumer service. Every day people are sleeping on the cold airport grounds because of this company!

Bad Airline that cancels flights for…

Bad Airline that cancels flights for nonsense and reschedules it to with stupid connection flights where you have to take a hotel.
I wasted 100 CHF in roaming call costs just to get nothing from them.
Ended up booking a new flight somewhere else and it was no problem at all.
Really bad customer service and worst airline experience so far from all Airlines I tried.

Air Europa

Air Europa, the unreliable airline.
Booked to Malaga with a stopover both ways, unfortunately the connecting flight was cancelled at the last minute. Round trip now with long stopover and no compensation. Departure also delayed without explanation, but had to pay for every service.
On return the airline decided to wait 1.5 hours for delayed passengers. Hot plane, bad seats and not even a glass of water as compensation.
Flying with this airline has a huge impact on the trip.
A once and never again experience.

AVOID THIS AIRLINE IF YOU CAN HELP IT!

The customer service is beyond terrible. The check in process at the Lisbon Airport was atrocious. Three clerks with over one hundred people in line. We were at the airport 3 hours early and still almost missed our flight. Very stressful day. AFTER the flight, the customer service regarding getting a simple copy of my invoice has BEEN A FREAKING NIGHTMARE. I have been put on hold for over an hour TWICE before being disconnected. I have written emails and then being told to reach them through Facebook or Twitter. Completely getting the runaround. My head is ready to explode. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU CAN AVOID IT.

First and last time I purchase an Air Europe ticket.

First and last time I purchase an Air Europe ticket. Worst airline I have ever seen for a long haul. At the level of Ryanair or even worse. Very poor from start to finish. Dreadful experience. To avoid at all cost. Check-in opens very late. Gate announced very late also. Long lines. Very small and uncomfortable seats Terrible in-flight service. If I only knew before I purchased my ticket that Air Europe charges for everything except for: 1) one complimentary meal - very light and very poor quality -, with one small drink - I could not even drink their very cheap wine - ; 2) one or two hot drinks and one or two cups of water. Not acceptable for a 10 hours flight! Air Europe even charges for headphones. Staff not particularly friendly. It looks like they are only after passengers debit and credit cards. Unfortunately I still have to use my return ticket. I wish it was refundable. It will be another torture on a very long flight from Asuncion to Madrid. As I do not want to be forced to buy their terrible food, I will buy some snacks in advance in order not be hungry at least. Unfortunately one may not bring drinks on board.

Terrible Experience with AirEurope

I had one of the worst travel experiences with AirEurope. First, my flight was significantly delayed with no communication from staff to explain what was going on. We were left waiting with no assistance or information. The aircraft itself was outdated and uncomfortable, making the delay even harder to endure.

To make matters worse, my luggage never arrived at my destination, and the customer service was completely unhelpful. I tried repeatedly to get answers, but no one seemed to care. They barely took my case seriously, and I suspect my luggage may have even been stolen given the lack of follow-up.

If you value your time, comfort, and belongings, I strongly advise against flying with AirEurope.

Madrid Havana ux51

I flew Madrid Havana ux51 in MAY 2024 and the flight was good. I paid extra for bulkhead seats just behind business and had lots of legroom, and a window seat. £96 was a high price to pay for extra legroom, actually more than virgin or air Canada, and mostly these seats are almost never available, and often sold to families with infants. As I was going to Havana for work and wanted to arrive as fresh as possible, I decided to take advantage of the seat being available, and pay (out of my own pocket!).
I did see that the main economy seats are just as cramped as on air Canada & BA long haul, and as always it's always good to keep eyes open to check if there are any rows with some empty seats , so one can spread out more.

The food was ok, comparable to the air Canada and virgin long haul flights I have also done.
The crew were helpful, including sorting out gluten free meal for someone traveling with me: the preordered GF did not arrive, but they gave one of the "paying" meals with no fuss.

Sometimes it is difficult to hear announcements.
The flight arrives at 9pm local time, and that means clearing immigration /customs approx 2 hours later , meaning getting to hotel approx midnight (5am UK time) which is a bit of a challenge , but setting clocks to local time & the excitement of a new adventure does help most people settle in to Cuba local time.

Bedbugs infestation on the plane!

Super uncomfortable flight. Tight seats and bad service. Only one meal in 10hr flight. And cherry on top. The plane was infested massivelu by bedbugs. We got over 30 bites during the flight.
Horrible!

Very poor service

Took a return business ticket from Paris to Caracas (UX71 and UX72).
1. Arrogant and incompetent staff on both business class flights…
2. On trying to update my tickets, the call centre couldn’t accept payments and blamed it on my bank, implying I couldn’t afford it, or that it was due to the bank’s fraud department etc. Hanging up on you after 20 minutes and while paying 1€/minute being in Venezuela…
3. Barely fit for purpose business class, while economy is at Ryan Air Level.
Wake up Air Europa! Your clients have other options and I will never fly again with you.

Where to start .

Where to start .. this box really isn't long enough but think about cattle being herded off for slaughter then crammed into a dirty, greasy and uncleaned tardis box with no food and half a cup of coffee for an 11 hour flight and you start to get the picture. You used to trade off basic comfort for a cheaper flight but now they charge top dollar (£1400 return to Paraguay bought early and still had a 10 hour transfer in Madrid). I don't think I would use them ever again even if free... their attention to detail and desire maximise profit only makes me shudder about engine maintenance and flight safety! Good luck

Budget airline does (but should not) long haul flights

To start with the positives- our baggage arrived and they offer lap infants food and seatbelts which not all carriers do. Infants also get an equivalent baggage allowance.

Now for where improvement is required. I bought seats with leg room- they were not the seats that I ended up with as the map of the plane on the app was not what the layout was in real life. $100 down the drain. Whilst we talk about the app, it often doesn’t work and you need to call as it quotes you ridiculous prices like $1600 for 3 extra suitcases. Now back to the flight. We flew for 12 hours. On this flight we were given one meal and two drinks- for 12 hours! I spent 19 euros on more food and drinks. I asked for more water for my baby- at first the flight attendants did not want to answer my call out, then they told me to wait for a trolley service that never happened and then on the third try they did it. We arrived so dehydrated and ill because of this terrible service. Long haul flights are not the place to skimp on essentials such as food and water. Finally in addition to all of this you get as much space as if you were on a 2 hour flight to the Costa Brava. Flying with Air Europa might be cheap but it’s not worth the 12 hour torture session.

Terrible terrible terrible…

Terrible terrible terrible… They lost our luggage but found it after a few days. Someone called me to confirm the delivery address, they spoke no English and tried to rush me off the phone even though I told her I did not understand what she was saying.

With my limited Spanish I try to give directions to the apartment but when checking the reference on their site I find out she wrote the wrong house number. This in it self is not a big deal, translation mistakes are completely understandable, but the process of remedying this mistake is what infuriates me. There are no ways to change the address on web. I called back on the same number - no answer. I call luggage support - they’re not open on Saturdays … even though they notified us about the delivery and plan to deliver on a Saturday. I call their main support who said they could not help and kept referring me to their luggage department (they’re closed) and email system (she said my email will be seen on Monday), completely ignoring me when I say the baggage is being delivered today, to the wrong address. Before this I also contacted their email, Facebook page, instagram and web support - no answer of course.

We’re now sitting outside the listed apartment waiting for our luggage. The delivery is between 14 to 18 and they said they will not call when it’s been delivered.

Awful support system, unfriendly staff and no option to resolve issues yourself over web.

Worst experience in 50 years of flying

We waited at least one hour and 20 minutes in line to check our bag! And thus missed our flight due to the slowest check in time I have witnessed in 50 years of flying. We made it to the airline as they let the last people on including a family that arrive one hour after us. Double booked

We are now waiting 24 hours for the next flight out! We were promised compensation for two yet since one seat was supposedly available, they later rescinded. Stuck near the airport for 24 hours at a motel.

Edit: After signing a form for compensation we have received nothing three weeks later (no emails confirming the form and no copes of the form). What a scam.
