Don’t bother if your an oap

Tried to open a savings account for my 98 year old mother living in a care home who has her house sale proceeds to invest to pay her care home fees. What a nightmare organisation.
Got an email seeking proof of identification, she has no passport or driving licence so produced a letter from DWP showing she is on state pension and attendance allowance, copy of local authority community tax for her old home, invoice for her care home fees from County Council and proof I had successfully opened a similar account with the Coventry Building Society in the last two weeks.
Apparently this is not sufficient customer service woman was a robot her only response I can’t talk about it.
I want to put money in not take it out but perhaps she is a security risk clearly this bank thinks when you get to a certain age you become a Martian because you haven’t got a passport or driving licence.
So much for respecting senior citizens!!!

Seen the standard response provided word for word what all one star reviews get don’t bother your robot has already told me she can’t discuss it. That’s ok mums money goes to a human bank plenty more on offer

I have a double access issue 8 account giving 4% interest.Aldermore issue a new double access issue 9
offering 4.16% interest.They don't increase my rate so everytime they do that I have to open the new account
and close the old account.Absolutely ridiculous!

45 mins to answer phone.
Finally i get told that there was a problem (not their fault) with the faster Payment service

Very simple to open a cash ISA on line and open an account but also excellent customer service if you need to talk to someone.

Don't bother using Aldermore as you may end up killing yourself as that's where I am now. I'm nearly homeless because they keep going back and forth just to reissue a mortgage offer. We sent documents 24th June but still no response. I have handed my notice because this was just a reissue of the offer and we didn't expect it to take this long. Now I don't even know what they want as the solicitors have approved source of funds and everything. I don't know what will happen with me and kids as the landlord has advertised the property. Just avoid them for your sanity.

Best 2 year fixed ISA savings rate with monthly interest at time of application for myself and my wife. Subsequent maturing ISA added at same rate. Intuitive application process and follow up from Aldermore was first class.
Would not hesitate to recommend this provider to anyone.

Easy to follow instructions, prompt service, makes investment uncomplicated and with good interest rates on products. Key feature information to download. Have used Aldermore for a n umber of years and they are helpful and courteous when I have had questions.

Opening an account was an easy process and they were there to help if any assistance was needed. Good follow up too.

I have been with Aldermore for five plus years now, very competitive savings rates and great customer support, other reviews claim them to be clunky, where I experienced this I put down to their very efficient and stringent anti-fraud measures, so I would rather them be clunky than be a victim of fraud. A great experience so far.

Easy to open account and quick response to let you know account open and when your monies arrive into account. I would prefer a longer period to fund the account as 14 days is a bit tight when transferring monies from elsewhere.

Having opened an account I realised I had made a mistake, spoke to Kia who help me correct this with her patience.

Very poor experience signing up for an account. Clunky, out-dated, unclear and confusing instructions and well below the standard of new banks.

I have had savings with Aldermore Bank for several years and appreciate their often superior savings rates. Their website is clear and easy to use, and both their customer service and communication are excellent.

I have been with Aldermore for many years and have been totally satisfied. The staff are polite, helpful, efficient and more than happy to help, especially as I’m not very tech savvy. The website is easy to use and well set out.
