Allianz Home Insurance & Auto-Renewal
Today, I received an email notification that my home insurance was up: but to 'sit back' and 'rest easy' [as] 'it'll automatically renew'. I never set the auto-renewal option no matter what the enticements are to do so ... as a standard. I also checked my Allianz details and found I had even noted that I had opted out of auto-renewal. I did this home insurance policy via TopCash link to moneysupermarket.com in June 2025.
On a more positive note, Allianz have supplied a notification of the renewal well in advance of the expiry date. However, even important emails can be easily lost in amongst the plethora of 'junk'. In a similar vein, I don't remember quite the quantity of third-party inducements - or, offers, exclusive discounts, and rewards, depending on your viewpoint - cluttering up the web pages in profile last time. You can, of course, opt of marketing and data harvesting; but it is getting harder to escape it altogether.
I am always prepared to edit my reviews, the star rating, according to the company reply and/or explanation given. Ditto I am prepared to take ownership and apologise, if I did actively opt-in with a manual click into a clearly defined input field for auto-renewal (in a fuzzy moment of financial dysfunction). As a minor side point: '* You can see your`s [sic] payment details in the payment section' is also a punctuation or typo error ripe for correction.
I await an Allianz response in anticipation ...

Terrible insurance company. In my 6 years of driving (not long I know) have I ever experienced such a difficult insurance company. Firstly I have 2 cars and they will only insure me on one car even though I have been driving both cars for the whole time I’ve been driving, I can only have one car on my insurance or one insurance policy. Even thought I have gold so I can drive any car third party, they still will not insure me on my other car. If you’re trying to get hold of them don’t bother. They don’t have a contact number for queries. If you call the claims number they hang up on you.
