There is too much of copying, texting, scanning. I paid in advance for 12 months 2026-2027, yet I get emails welcoming me and trying to charge $476

My agent Scott Joannes was great. He was able to help with my homeowners and car insurance to save me a lot of money. He went out of his way to take care of an insurance issue I had personally tried to resolve, to make sure it was handled timely and for the least amount of money. I wish I had signed up with Scott a long time ago to have the peace of mind knowing I have such a professional on my side to help me through any homeowners or car issues that might arise.

The process of getting a quote was super easy. I had been calling several other insurances and they were a total hassle.

Terrible company. I never heard of this company before. I got in an accident three weeks ago with one of their drivers. They ran a red light and hit me. Initially, I was told to file a claim through this company and they did absolutely nothing for three weeks. One of the agents told me they would approve my claim, but then said they had to get approval from their manager and never called me back. After a week went by she messaged me and said they couldn’t approve my claim because the driver changed their story.
In three weeks time, they did absolutely nothing to investigate. They told me to do all the work basically. Eventually, I had to get my insurance involved to find the police report, the body cam, the witness statement, and footage from the intersection. All of this just prove I wasn’t lying.
The thing that makes me most mad is that my car sat in a tow yard for three weeks while they did nothing. It’s been 22 days and my car finally got to the collision center because my insurance had to intervene and do something.
After researching this company, I read, they are notorious for not paying repair costs and denying claims. I just hope nobody gets hit by a driver insured by this company because it was a complete nightmare for me.

The worst insurance company for me. They have been charging me or a car that I told them to cancel more than one year ago. Now I have to figure out how to obtain a refund. I got this insurance through Costco, very disappointing, I will cancel these guys next month.

Not even worth 1 star. Guess that is as low as i can go. Called these guys with a referral from costco. They had me cancel my current insurance to get a little better coverage at a cheaper price. A week later i receive a cancelation notice due to my roof buckling and/or lifting. I had a brand new roof put on 3 years ago. Can't find any damage to the roof anywhere. No explanation from these turkeys other than they said it was legit. I guess they screw American families instead of work with them. Absolute garbage

Customer service: I did receive help and a good understanding what and why the premium did not match what I was quoted prior.
I was asked if I would like to pay my remaining premium and I did. Three hours later, I received a notice of a fraudulent charge on my credit card. Not thinking about security. I made a mistake reading off my payment information to the representative. A charge for Domino's in Illinois for $67.00, I live in Kansas. I refused the purchase and contacted my credit card company. I have been with American family insurance for almost 30 years and never dream, giving my payment information put me in jeopardy. This was not a coincidence. Always double check that your payment information is secure, even with a company that you have put trust in.

Whatever you do, do not go here. They take advantage of loyal, long-time customers and count on people not checking their policies.

We have been with Leo for over 15 years. Today I reviewed my homeowners insurance and was absolutely disgusted by what we were being charged. I was quoted less than half of their price elsewhere, with a $1,800 deductible instead of the $5,000 deductible they had us on.

I requested a call back and, of course, never received one. So I went to the office in person, and it was conveniently closed.

I will be filing a complaint with the Kansas Insurance Department and any other agency necessary once I receive the information I requested.

Do not trust these people. Review your policy, get other quotes, and don’t assume loyalty means they are taking care of you. In my experience, they will gladly overcharge you and hope you never notice.

This company is predatory in its practice. I was trying to get a few quotes to shop around I’ve been with USAA for 25 years and rates have risen. I explained in detail my claim history and the house in first message, also explaining I need water and sump pump coverage. They messaged back all day long asking for things I had to take time and research - it took over 7 hours of back and forth messages to get a quote. When I finally got one it was twice as expensive as USAA and had NO water coverage bc they won’t cover people within 3 years of a claim even if professionally remedied. They could have said this within the first 5 mins but instead tried to sneak it through in the quote they gave me hoping I wouldn’t notice. USAA may have high rates but they are NOT predatory and dishonest like this company. Stay far away if you don’t have a cookie cutter brand news house and don’t want to waste an entire day for nothing.

Everyone is helpful, knowledgeable, and polite. When I have questions they are answered.

The employees are helpful and easy to reach. Jen has been very helpful and I appreciate it.

I love American Insurance the people are awesome and I appreciate good people.
