I highly recommend Ashanti driving

I highly recommend Ashanti driving. I had a very good experience with them learning how to drive. My instructor was Mahendran and he was very patient with me and was able to explain things in a way for me to understand quickly

Avoid Dennis as instructor

I advise people to avoid Dennis as an instructor. I had 4/5 lessons with him from August 2021.

After having on-and-off lessons over the past few years due to the pandemic, I decided to start lessons again upon moving to London. On my first lesson, Dennis told me that none of my previous instructors had taught me correctly, and spent the majority of the following lessons telling me that I hadn't picked things up quickly enough. This is despite us spending the majority of the lessons in 1st gear.

He was often rude and unprofessional. We would often pull over to the side where he would talk about unrelated topics for 10-15 minutes of the lesson.

I regret continuing after the first lesson, but as someone who wasn't particularly confident, I believed him initially when he said that I was doing everything wrong. I dreaded each lesson, which shouldn't be how you feel about a teacher, and am annoyed at how much money I spent on the experience. Don't make the same mistake I did!

Upon moving to another teacher, we immediately began driving on main roads, roundabouts etc within the first lesson, and I have since passed.

Eric who is meant to be the manager…

Eric who is meant to be the manager didn’t want to listen to me when I had a complaint about instructor Dennis George he only listened when my husband came on the phone which shows they are nothing and think they can be rude to women. I would not recommend this company. Dennis is disrespectful,Ignorant and an arrogant person with a lack of communication like who has a student on there third lesson only driving in first gear. The stupidty is real

Highly discourage ANYBODY to use this…

Highly discourage ANYBODY to use this driving school, especially an instructor called Charles Daniels.

When I first contacted Ashanti Driving school I spoke to a man named Eric who's the owner. Eric told me when I rang that he would be connecting me with his driver named Charles. Charles took two weeks to contact me which was very nerve racking from my end! when I texted Eric I found there had been no attempt to put me in touch with any other driver apart from Charles. When Charles finally rang me there was no sincere apology for his delay, he was extremely impatient & cut our conversation short by saying that we will talk properly in person. Upon meeting he came across calm at first but during our lesson there were a few times he raised his voice & snapped at me as if I was his daughter - this already set our bond off in a negative way.

I found him to be unpleasant at certain moments, rude as well as condescending which caused me to loose confidence but I just had to pull through as my main focus was to prep for my test which was vastly approaching that week so I didn't have time to find another instructor... otherwise I defiantly would've.

Charles knew my upcoming test date so knew my main focus was to mentally prep & neaten up not entertain nonsense! I stuck with him that week believing our common goal would get me through & as Charles has a strict approach & I personally prefer that so I thought to just crack on with him.

Fast forward to my test day, during my 2hour lessons prior Charles weirdly kept asking me what time my test was at. Which confused me as we'd discussed this upon our first encounter over the phone so I knew he had it noted in his diary. Unfortunately, I stupidly went by a text reminder time that I got sent in error... however any true instructor would've known there's no test batches operating at the time which he didn't know & I sadly didn't either at the time. Approaching the test centre we got stuck in traffic which got us there with only 4mins to spare! which wasn't good!... long & behold I missed my test. It took an instructor on site waiting for his student to return to tell both me & Charles that there's never ever tests rolling out at that time (how embarrassing) Charles then had the decency to mention that he should've checked his diary as he felt I was giving him a different time to what I initially told him! I was way too sad to respond!

When I finally managed to secure another test date I decided to reach out to Charles again as I was use to his car. He was UNRESPONSIVE properly for TWO DAYSS knowing I had only three days until my test. I texted/called chasing after him but sadly still NO RESPONSE! poor communication skills hence me waiting TWO WEEKS initially I guess!!!

As I didn't actually do my test & it was his fault driving me there late & not double checking my test time I asked if he could be reasonable & lower his test day fee which is set at £120 seeming I did't do my test. And funnily enough! that's the only time he decided to message me back! I was shocked! He first apologied for his delay then he kindly asked how much I would like to pay? Which I then replied 'It's ok, but can his communication improve & £70 please.' He abruptly messages me back saying 'YOU WILL PAY £120'!!! I then say if you had no intention of compromising why I ask for my suggestion?? only then did he decide to call me! This instructor starts yelling asking me ''why should I pay £70''???? I was so shocked, disappointed, confused & annoyed at this point so I straight away asked him if he was sick upstairs? which at this point he took a long deep pause asking me to repeat what I said!!! I then justified myself by stating that I said what I said because he's playing psychological games, disrespecting me, insulting my intelligence & wasting my time! he then ignored me & asked again if he heard right! which at this point I confirmed he heard correct - he straight away told me to hang up & to never call his phone EVER AGAIN! I tried justifying myself hoping to resolve this as I had a test soon... but he didn't care & then hang up on me. A very abrupt, unpleasant & obnoxious instructor. Left me feeling VERY UPSET! this driving school and instructor had been by far my WORST EXPERIENCE.

On one occasion I paid him straight after a lesson on his demand (I ended up overpaying) giving him £270 instead of £140 he smiled & said thanks. When walking off I realised I'd overpaid him.. he said I will be refunded. He clearly failed the loyalty test & is a low-key con as I'm sure he would've been quick to react if I'd underpaid! absolutely shocking!

Charles has a rude temperament & very insulting - when I pulled him up on this he did apologise) but overall no patience & unprofessional mannerisms at times.

I can confidently say Book with Ashanti driving school & do your lessons with Charles Daniels at your own risk :(

Ashanti Driving School did the job!

I used Ashanti to help me pass my driving test. My instructor was Sam and he really explained to me what I needed to do to make sure that I was successful on my test. He was just the type of teacher I needed to keep me focused on passing and making sure that I developed good driving skills for the roads around the Mitcham area where I took my test. I would recommend Ashanti and Sam for any future lessons and to make sure you pass! Thanks Sam for being patient and understanding with me even when I wasn’t at my best you made sure I got the most out of the lessons!

Yelling instructor

I had an instructor called Dennis George.

He yelled constantly, makes you demotivated and was incredibly incompetent.

Condescending rude and also a bad teacher.

I went on to book with another teacher and they said my driving was good and the experience was just 1000x better.

Worst experience I’ve ever had.
Never book with them.
Awful awful awful.

They also don’t tell you to do the six point check when pulling off or when you have a question he’ll patronise you and not tell you the answer! He pulled the length of the lessons so long. Whilst insulting me and saying he’d never met anyone as slow as me.
I went to someone else and I learnt incredibly fast.!
