Hybrid boiler floods house 10 days…

Hybrid boiler floods workshop 10 days after installation. Faulty parts. No hot water or heating & no communication for three days, when a technician calls and says he doesn't know why they asked him to call us! Still waiting. Total shameful shambles.

Atlantic - made to fail

We built a new house which was finished late September 2015 and the heating engineer recommended an air air heating system manufactured by Atlantic (France).

We looked at his quote and he assured us that Atlantic was a reliable and good product - so we went ahead.

Everything went well but five winters later we have just replaced both fans as the bearings were wearing out and very noisy.

We have also had an intermittent fault with an error code that the engineer thinks to be a false positive. He is looking to replace the circuit board.

This is a unit which only heats the house in the south of France where we use it for possibly 5 months per year.

It was quite an expensive system and we naturally did not expect so many problems after such a relatively short period of time.

We have yet to get the invoices for the two replacement fans but they are circa 300€ each plus labour and now a circuit board on top of this.

A few things here - are Atlantic products any good?

Is the life span of these units only 5 years?

The cost of heating this house over the last five years has now just gone up by the cost of these parts and the labour.

I would think that a simple electric heating system without all the air air heat pump would be less expensive and certainly less unsightly.

Perhaps it is the Atlantic product itself?

Is Atlantic any good?

At the moment, I am less than impressed and will be taking this up with our heating engineer once he has replaced the circuit.

Very poor product for something manufactured in 2015.
