very pleased with the team at ATD…

very pleased with the team at ATD today. Me and my sister turned up out of the blue around midday. We were looking for a new applecar-play infotainment system, a reversing camera and a relatively inexpensive dashcam. All for my sisters Mk5 VW polo. After a chat with one of their technicians we decided on everything we wanted and went to book it in. They amazingly got us in that very minute and just 3 hours later the car was complete. everything works as expected and is so easy to use. She is over the moon with all the new features of her car. Stops her from spending thousands on a new car. We would highly recommend ATD to everyone.

Very helpful

Amazing help from these guys. I have a mk6 Fiesta with a bizarre setup that needed a loom to convert to Android/Linux head unit and Sarah got me sorted easily over email with a few photos of the car and stereo loom. Just waiting delivery now. Very excited to have my old car brought into the 21st century

Had upgrade overfinch

Outstanding tech knowledge

Highly recommended. I’ll definitely be using them again. The technical knowledge was outstanding, I had two enquiries to which other companies either didn't list for or said nothing could be done. Audio Tech Direct got both cars audio units upgraded with CarPlay. I got recommended them from a forum and I am so pleased I got in touch.

Excellent customer service, premium products, and great support!

Absolutely brilliant experience with Stuart and the team. From the start, communication was excellent and they were very professional, helpful, and easy to deal with.

I purchased a sat nav and reverse camera for my BMW E90, and the quality of the products is genuinely premium. Everything works perfectly. What really stood out was the support. They took the time to explain the installation properly, guided me step by step, and made sure I knew exactly how to fit and set everything up correctly.

I was also lucky enough that they’re not far from me, so I visited in person. The whole team was extremely friendly and welcoming, showed me everything in detail, and provided outstanding customer service throughout.

Very competitive prices for the level of quality, support, and communication you get. Highly recommended, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Undelivered item.

Item not delivered and they think it's acceptable to say it's on a collection shelf at the Royal Mail delivery office. And expect me to travel miles away to get it when there's no actual proof it's there.

Reply below on 29th December and didn't bother replying until I chased them today. Suggesting I use my time to phone or go 3 miles to chase a parcel is ridiculous.

No wonder they have plenty of bad reviews.

The last scan was on December 19th from WOLVERHAMPTON DO (delivery office) where they put it out for delivery. Is it possible for you to call into that delivery office or give them a call? It has most likely been put on their collection shelf.

For clarity, Royal Mail advised us that a delivery attempt had been made and that the parcel was awaiting collection at the delivery office. This information did not match the online tracking, but given the time that had passed, their explanation was consistent with how undelivered items are usually handled. We also suggested contacting the delivery office only because they typically provide detailed updates directly to the receiver, not the sender.
It’s also important to note that we are not Royal Mail. We paid for their delivery service on your behalf, and their decision to stop further delivery attempts and hold the parcel for collection was outside of our control.

We always aim to help wherever we can, and we’re sorry that this situation—caused by Royal Mail’s handling of the parcel—led to disappointment.

Had seen their social media page

Had seen their social media page, so decided to call. As I'm not savy with tech stuff I wanted to see what they could offer. Luckily, they were not far away so paid them a visit and ended up with new cameras for my vehicle and fitted too, at a very reasonable rate.

False advertising very poor customer service

Bought an in car charging lead off this company through eBay..
lead is advertised as iPhone compatible but it IsNot.. apparently customer is supposed to Guess that it only charges Old iPhones
Customer service is Rude and Patronising.
Apparently I should have studied the pictures of each lead and worked out there wasn’t one for an iPhone.
Apparently only charges very old iPhones but it wasn’t possible for them to state it in the advertisement. Ridiculous. False advertising will never touch them again

To clarify, the product listing clearly states that the cable supports older iPhone models using the legacy 30-pin connector. This is shown in both the product description and the images, and we include a prominent red banner advising customers to read the listing carefully before purchase. Unfortunately, eBay limits titles to 80 characters, so we rely on the description and images to provide full compatibility details.

We understand that the term “iPhone” can be interpreted broadly, which is why we’ve taken care to specify exactly which connector is included. With 51 different models across 17 generations of iPhones using different charging standards, it’s not feasible to list every incompatible model—so we focus on what the product does support.

We regret that our attempt to explain this came across as patronising. That was never our intention. We aim to provide clear, factual responses to help customers understand product limitations, especially on low-cost items like this one (£2.99 delivered).

We welcome constructive feedback and always strive to improve clarity where possible. However, we respectfully disagree with the claim of false advertising, as the listing is accurate and transparent.

Brilliant help and advice from James…

Brilliant help and advice from James Jackson. I'm very pleased with the Pioneer headunit that has bought my Focus RS up to date with wireless Apple car play and Android auto. Very helpful company with lots of knowledge on all sorts of headunits.

I was in need of a replacement.

I was in need of a replacement reversing camera for my Ssangyong Korando, many companies offered cameras but without the certainty that they were suitable.
I contacted ATD and they explained that a replacement camera has to be compatible with the monitor in the car. I provided the part number to them and they located a camera with the part number for me to buy.
Throughout the whole process nothing was too much trouble for them, they acquired the part and forwarded it for a successful fitting. Would highly recommend them.

Ordered a face plate for a fn2 type R…

Edit: 10% off a part that didn’t fit is a joke.

Ordered a face plate for a fn2 type R civic 9 inch screen, the part came in a reasonable time frame. 50£ pretty steep for a cheap 15£ part on AliExpress

However, I wouldn’t have minded paying if it actually fit as I was in a hurry and time is convenience.

One of the 2 mounting tabs for the air conditioning vent did not align, I made them aware and sent them measurements and how much the factory needed to correct.

There response was “send it back then, out of your own pocket” (at least the out of pocket was assumed since all they sent was a return slip, didn’t even send me an address)

I thought what a gruff way to handle this, jeez ok well I guess I’ll just make a bracket so that the screw can hang on and at least GRAB the ac vent since I already had the entire car tore apart and just wanted it over with if the right part wasn’t going to be supplied.

I sent them pictures of the washer setup I used and asked if I could get a partial refund.

They offered 10%

Greedy and won’t be there to take care of you when the curtain drops.

Avoid and look for more honest and helpful sellers

The returns form that was sent to you on 17th of Feb contained our return address and all the details you needed to return the item. Our address is also included in the footer of every single email we send, of which you received several.

The return label may have been accidentally overlooked by our customer service team at the time, but had you made us aware or inquired about it at all, we would have been happy to provide one.

This became a moot point on the 19th, as you informed us that you had created a bracket to solve your issue and requested a partial refund. Upon our offer of a 10% refund you simply agreed, thanked us and asked us to notify you when it would be done.

At this point we had considered the matter closed to your satisfaction. We are sorry to hear that our offer didn’t meet your expectations. Our goal is always to resolve any issues to the satisfaction of our customers.

Excellent head unit, shame about the user manual

Excellent website, so ordering correct head unit for my 2013 Polo import from Japan was straight forward. Installation was relatively easy and the unit looks really good. The unit has andriod auto and apple car play, plus lots of other features, including sat nav which works best with google maps using Bluetooth on my phone. The sound is very good, with plenty of options to suit every taste. The only negative was the user manual, which is very limited, so you basically have to figure it out how to use all the various menus and operators for yourself, which aren't very intuitive.

OEM Style Android head unit for Vx Mokka…

I wanted an Android head unit for my Mokka that would look like an OEM factory fit, rather than a tablet stuck on the fascia, and ATD were the only ones that seemed to do that. It cost a bit more than the fleaBay and AliExpress cheapos, but would integrate with the car systems through a CANBUS box, so I went for it.
I called to check a few things before ordering online, and Sarah at ATD was brilliant, giving sound advice on adding a DAB unit, and putting my mind at rest on fitting this unit.
It arrived just after Xmas (fairly quickly considering the post around then), and fit fairly easily. I had some issues with it 'talking' to the car through the CANBUS, but after a couple of calls Sarah sorted me out (my head unit now thinks it is in an Astra, but it works!).
The unit is brilliant and I love it, and I am grateful to Sarah and ATD for all their help. I plan to keep my Mokka (Astra?) for a long time, so it's a good investment. Highly recommended.

Bought head unit for my car

Bought head unit for my car. Seller recommended additional items which were not required for my car. Furthermore, the media unit arrived after 2 weeks with no instructions whatsoever. Luckily paid through PayPal. I requested a return and here is where all the drama started. The seller first asked me to close the return request on PayPal if he is to provide advice on installation. Of course I didn't. He then kept telling me how he doesn't understand why I want to return it. As a result, I had a bad feeling that he might be a dishonest seller, so I decided to take a video and pictures of the unit before sending items back using special delivery on my own expense. Unsurprisingly, the seller had broken a plastic bit on the back of the unit and refused to refund, claiming that I had broken it. Little did he know that I had all the photographic proof to confirm that the item was in perfect condition when I sent it. PayPal reviewed my case and of course refunded me eventually. Bottom line is, this is a dishonest and malicious seller. I would advise to avoid.

Edit: The seller now has responded to my review yet again with lies. I have the email where they ask me to close the PayPal case in order for them to provide further help. Furthermore, at no point did they say that the unit required professional installation. Also, I never said that their unit is not working or that it is working simply because it was never installed. I am astonished that the seller is blatantly being dishonest with regards to the broken bit. I have photographic and video evidence showing that I sent the unit in perfect condition. I am happy to provide these if required. It is crystal clear to me that this company is far from being professional, trustworthy or reliable. Again, I advise buyers to think well before getting entangled with them.

Upon reviewing our records, it appears that you were informed of a delay in the shipment of the item, as the head unit was out of stock at the time of your order. At that point, you indicated that you were willing to wait for the item, and we proceeded accordingly. Once the item was delivered, you requested installation instructions, and we informed you that the installation would require a professional technician due to the various potential challenges involved, which are not easily conveyed in written instructions for DIY installation.

We also noted that you opened a PayPal dispute over the weekend, and it wasn't until Monday that you mentioned difficulties with the installation. Specifically, you mentioned that the plugs appeared incorrect. In response, we clarified that there are two plug options and advised you to carefully check the positions of the battery and ground pins, which is highlighted by a large yellow sticker on the unit to assist with proper installation.

Later, you mentioned that neither the original radio nor the new unit was functioning. Based on this, we believe the issue may have been caused by incorrect connections, which could have led to blown fuses due to reverse power being applied. Subsequently, you updated us, stating that both the stock radio and our unit were working again.

After reviewing the email exchanges, we did not find any communication where we explicitly instructed you to close the PayPal dispute. However, we did advise that the return process should be handled through PayPal, as you chose to use their return process instead of our own.

We made every effort to assist you with installation and to explain the necessary checks, but it seems there may have been some confusion regarding the installation process. This is precisely why we recommended seeking professional installation to ensure the product functions properly.

Finally, we received the product back with a damaged quadlock connection on the rear. Based on our experience, this type of damage is typically caused by excessive force when disconnecting the quadlock without releasing the lever. The unit was not shipped in this condition, and we believe it was returned in this manner.

We remain committed to providing the best possible service and would be happy to assist you further with any questions or concerns. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you require additional support.
