incomplete repair ( ignoring emails)

I hired this company to replace an engine mount on my vehicle and the experience has been extremely disappointing.

After the installation, I was advised that the passenger-side lower retaining nut could not be fitted because of an issue with the threaded stud on the newly installed engine mount. The job was left incomplete and I was told the vehicle would be safe to drive, although the mechanic specifically instructed me not to accelerate hard.

Despite those assurances, the vehicle immediately developed severe vibrations, particularly at idle and during start-up, and is now effectively undriveable.

I have photographs and video evidence showing visible fresh metal damage around the threaded stud and surrounding mounting area. This damage was not present before the installation. The stud on the new engine mount has been damaged, the retaining nut cannot be fitted, and the installation remains incomplete.

After discovering these issues, I contacted the company seeking assistance. I was informed by the receptionist that the manager had been advised by the mechanic that I had supplied the wrong parts, that the mechanic had told me they were incorrect, and that I instructed him to install them anyway. This is completely false.

At no stage was I advised that the part was incorrect, nor was I asked to authorise installation of an unsuitable component. If the part was genuinely the wrong part, it raises an obvious question: how was one side of the engine mount assembly installed successfully? The problem only occurred on the side where the threaded stud was damaged during installation.

I have since lodged a formal complaint outlining my concerns and providing evidence. To date, I have received no response from the company.

What makes this especially frustrating is that I am a first-year apprentice and this repair cost me almost an entire week’s wages. I paid for a professional service and my vehicle has been left in a worse condition than before the company worked on it. Instead of receiving a repair, I have been left with an incomplete installation, a damaged component, a vehicle that cannot reasonably be driven, and a company that has failed to respond to a formal complaint.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business.
