Barras were outstanding from start to finish—we can’t recommend them highly enough.

We got three quotes, but two felt flat and uninspiring. Then we met Gary, and everything changed. His enthusiasm, ideas, and attention to what we wanted made all the difference—and the end result is a stunning bathroom.

The team arrived exactly as planned and were brilliant throughout: professional, respectful, and great to have around. Watching the bathroom come together was genuinely exciting.

There were a couple of small hiccups (including a wrong shower cubicle), but nothing fazed them. They handled everything quickly and seamlessly.

We choose Barras to do our kitchen renovation as we wanted to work with a company that could offer complete project management from start to finish. Barras had previously installed our fitted bedroom wardrobes 3 years ago and so we were already confident in their workmanship.
The quote was completely transparent showing all costs in the finest detail, this enabled us to make adjustments in order to fit in with our budget whilst still giving us the kitchen that we wanted. We made several changes along the way, which were never a problem and Barras were able to help us with some design suggestions.
Fitters were all a pleasure to deal with, nothing was too much trouble and their attention to detail was second to none. We would not hesitate to recommend Barras and wouldn't hesitate to use them again

I have been to Barras for various renovations for 20 years now and they have always done a wonderful job. My most recent room was my bathroom - which I had changed into a shower room (owing to my inability to use my bath). Once again, I returned to Barras for help and they didn’t disappoint. From Gary and James and the rest of the team mainly Malcolm and Steve, once again they didn’t disappoint me.
I have always said “in the past I’ve tried the rest and now I always go to the best”.
I will always go to Barras for any future renovations.

This was the fifth job we have had completed by this company.
Which shows the confidence we have in them.
Some parts of this particular job were something new to this company but as expected was completed to the highest standard.
It was a complete front room refresh which involved removing arches, a brand new plastered ceiling, coving, led lighting, moving electrical sockets, wiring in a new RJ45 terminal, installing speaker terminals, Amtico flooring and new skirting boards and architrave. They were impeccably clean throughout the entire process and the finished result is once again stunning.
So a big thnk you to John, James, Andy, Matt, Martin and Gary for yet another fantastic job completed.
I would not hesitate to recommend this family company to anyone looking to do home improvements, even if its not listed as something they do on their website go in and speak to them you will not be disappointed.

This is our third project with Barras, a kitchen, a bathroom and now a bedroom. The fact that we continue to use this company shows the excellent service, professionalism and workmanship that we have experienced. All staff are professional and knowledgeable in their areas and keen to provide us with good advice throughout the process. Our room was completely stripped back, reboarded and plastered. The ceiling was lowered and new lighting system fitted. A new radiator was added and a floor was also laid. An old bedroom door was mended before the whole room was decorated.There are many style and colour choices available for the outside of the bedroom units, but more importantly for us was the configuration of the inside. John, Gary and James must be praised for their initial advice, 3D design and project management. Many thanks must go to Andy, Matthew and Martin who made the design a reality.

I had my kitchen done from start to finish they’re absolutely amazing love my kitchen everybody compliments how nice it is. They’re after care which has not been big issues just little hinges and they’re all replaced with no hesitation. Can’t recommend them enough.

We have recently trusted Barras home improvements to design and fit our new kitchen. John the owner came out and spent time with us to let us know what could be done such as moving the cooker, washing machine and dishwasher to a different part of the kitchen. We wanted the back door bricked up and a window put in. This was not a problem and John said Martin could do this. We went back to the shop to look at different items from ovens, hobs extractor fan, washing machine, dishwasher, work surfaces, colour scheme and low maintenance ceiling etc. An estimate was sent to us by Email within a couple of days. A starting date was arranged and work started on time. As we were keeping the floor as it was they put down protection. We were told work would last about 3 to 4 weeks. It actually took 3 weeks and a day. Martin bricked the back door up and fitted a window. He also plastered the walls. Matthew did all the electrical work and Steve did the fitting of the cupboards etc and plumbing. The workmanship is 1st class to a high standard. We would like to say a big thank you to them for all of their hard work. Also a big thank you so John for the designing of the kitchen, Gary for managing the project and James for putting it all on computer for us so that we could see what it would look like. Thank you all. Would use you again and highly recommend you.

We decided to update our bedroom and have an ensuite shower fitted and also modernise our bathroom, having seen work completed by Barras Home Improvements we had no hesitation in contacting them. We have not been disappointed. Our initial visit to the showroom we were met by staff who were all extremely courteous & attentive, we explained what we wanted & were given constructive ideas . We decided to go ahead with the project which has now been completed.
The team allocated to our project have worked so well together, arriving every day on time with a friendly smile, they have worked extremely hard and each evening have left the site neat and tidy, and we were told who to expect and what job was going to be completed next.
It was a pleasure to have the team work for us and each member of the team were experts in their trade.

Having used them before I had no hesitation in using them again.They were very helpful in planning my bathroom and arrived to start as arranged. Their team were courteous, friendly and respected my property, and were very hard working.I was so pleased with the finished bathroom, and would recommend them to anyone that needed a new bathroom or kitchen. I believe they also fit bedrooms.

Great customer service from start to finish. Everyone was really accommodating and to come back from holiday to a bright shiny new bathroom was a massive bonus
