The worst ever Insurance Company
This is perhaps the worst insurance company I have ever heard of. I had a 3 and a half hour flight delay from Dublin to Philadelphia. Despite providing the evidence of the delay of boarding passes. They want me to contact the airline (American Airlines) to provide a written report on why the aircraft was delayed. This is more than a joke.
Policy rates are SO HIGH
Policy rates are SO HIGH, I even used the auto merit, no accidents, no tickets, they still increased my policy when it was time to renew it. THEN charge a full payment for 1/2 month of coverage. I chose not to renew my policy and got insurance for almost $70/months cheaper. My last payment date is February 28th, policy ends March 14th. They charged a FULL month. Total crooks!!
I am writConcern regarding belairdirect Preferred Partner experienceing to share my recent…
I am writing to share my recent experience with belairdirect after receiving your mailed offer promoting “exclusive member savings” of up to 32% on auto and home insurance, along with access to additional coverage at no extra cost. This communication prompted me to contact belairdirect with the expectation of a smooth, professional, and member‑focused process.
Unfortunately, my experience fell short of what was promised. My phone interaction with the representative, Rishabh Mishra, was unclear and lacked proper guidance. The call lasted nearly half an hour, focused only on the home insurance quote, yet I was not informed upfront about the information required or the steps involved. I left the call feeling confused rather than supported.
Shortly afterward, I received an email from the same representative asking me to “kindly attach the following documents,” followed by only one vague question regarding the electrical wiring and plumbing of my home. No explanation was provided about why this information was needed, what format was expected, or how it related to the quote. The request felt abrupt and incomplete.
As a Federal Retirees member responding to an official partner offer, I expected clearer communication, better organization, and a more respectful customer experience. I am sharing this feedback in the hope that the Association can review the quality of service provided by this Preferred Partner and ensure that member expectations are met consistently.
Customer service is dead.
I love that you pay premiums every year on time and when it comes time for someone to help you, forget it!
I am the one chasing adjusters and representatives down! Filed the claim and was told someone would be in contact with me in the next 24 hours....fast forward to a week later and I am calling them to see what is happening! I then find myself answering all the same questions?! Ridiculous! This may trigger a switch......worth the hassle at this point given the hassle this has been so far.
Bad experience and most of the agents…
Bad experience and most of the agents talked rudely with you.
I am extremely disappointed with…
I am extremely disappointed with belairdirect insurance. After our accident, we were required to pay a $500 deductible, yet we still cannot even drive our own car. What is the point of paying insurance if you are left without a usable vehicle when you need it most?
The customer service has been very poor throughout the process. Communication is slow, unclear, and unhelpful, and the inspectors assigned to evaluate the damage seemed to lack the necessary knowledge and professionalism. Instead of providing reassurance and support after an accident, the experience has been frustrating and stressful from start to finish.
I expected much better service and competence from an insurance company. Because of this experience, I will be canceling my policy and looking for another insurer that provides reliable coverage and proper customer support. Based on what I have experienced, I cannot recommend belairdirect to anyone.
Cancellation fee ripoff
I was moved to belairdirect after Johnson Insurance sold their business — not by choice. Since then, premiums increased significantly despite a clean driving record.
When I switched insurers, I was charged ~$550 in cancellation penalties across two policies, and there was no meaningful escalation process available to review the situation.
Charging penalties to customers you inherited — while repeatedly increasing rates — raises serious customer fairness concerns.
I will be reviewing next steps, including escalation through consumer and insurance regulatory channels if this cannot be addressed.
@belairdirect — I welcome a proper review of this case.
If you use Belair Direct for insurance…
If you use Belair Direct for insurance coverage, expect your prices to consistently increase for no reason aside from their profit.
To say that this company is a mess is…
To say that this company is a mess is to say nothing. They are harmful to consumers and I am looking to sue them for many reasons. Stay away!
The entire experience was an absolute…
The entire experience was an absolute nightmare! First, they told me to use CAA to tow my disabled vehicle off the road, because it was going to take the 2 business days to get me a tow truck. Then they found me 100% at fault for an accident - before even bothering to review my dashcam video or speak to my witness; the email they sent literally read: "After a thorough investigation..." what an absolute joke. Next came the 2 week wait while the collision shop they selected took their time getting an estimate. Finally, a supervisor actually reversed the fault to 0% but they STILL charged me a $1k deductible because they refused to pursue the driver that fled the scene; they literally told me if I got the police to catch them they would refund me?!? The literal day that they offered me a settlement to 'write off' my car, they told me I had to bring my rental back... despite the fact that I didn't actually receive the etransfer settlement until 6 days later. So no resources provided to buy a replacement and on my own to pay for a rental so I can keep going to work. Responsiveness was DEPLORABLE - we called for DAYS and nobody called back. Would not EVER do business with this company again and suggest you avoid them at all costs!
I completed an online quote was then…
I completed an online quote was then told I had "unique insurance needs" and was told to call an agent. After giving the agent the exact same information as I did on the on line quote the amount they wanted to charge was $75.00 a month more than their online quote. Totally a scam don't fall for their advertising.
We have had a great experience so far
We have had a great experience so far. The gentleman we dealt with to set up our policy was great! And the premiums are very reasonable.
Jacked renewal rates, and a $1k cancellation fee
2-car policy. They increased our annual rate by 15% with no claims or change to driver records. We used a broker to change providers and then they tried to charge us a $1k "cancellation fee". Complete Ripoff artists.
AVOID THIS INSURANCE COMPANY !
AVOID THIS INSURANCE COMPANY !
AS A MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FEDERAL RETIREES, I CONTACTED BELAIR DIRECT IN MARCH 2025 FOR QUOTES FOR MY HOME AND AUTO INSURANCE .
THE QUOTE WAS AUTO INSURANCE WAS VERY ATTRACTIVE ( I HAVE A "CLEAN" RECORD)
FOR HOME INSURANCE, THE FIRST AGENT ASKED ME ALL SORTS OF DETAILED QUESTIONS . WHEN I RESPONDED THAT "my house has aluminium wiring, he "forgot" to inform me, that Belairdirect has a policy not to insurance homes with noncopper wiring. AFTER SOME BACK AND FORTH WITH 3-4 AGENTS OVER A FEW WEEKS , ONE OF THEM RELUCTANTLY INFORMED ME ON PHONE (BUT NOT IN WRITING!) THAT I WAS REJECTED FOR THAT REASON !
I FOUND THIS BEHAVIOUR UNETHICAL AND THIS MONTH FILED AN E MAIL COMPLAINT WITH THEIR OMBUDSMAN. SHE JUST APOLOGIZED AND SAID THEY ARE SORRY ! THEIR "CLICK AND BAIT" TACTICS ARE DEPLORABLE IMO. IN THEIR PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS, THEY SUPPRESS THE POLICY OF NOT INSURING HOUSES WITH ALUMINIUM WIRING. HOW ETHICAL IS THAT !!
I WOULD ADVISE POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS TO THINK TWICE, BEFORE CONSIDERING THIS CO
They lie
My sons policy was canceled due to non payment, they said they tried to take payment and it bounced, however the bank said they never even tried, he has proof and they won't accept the proof, they won't show him proof that they tried to take payment either, so now my son had a canceled policy on his record and they have ruined him getting good rates anytime soon, it's horrible, he already paid 400 a month because he is young and now who knows!! Stay far away from this company!!
Terrible service. Wait times on phone and for refunds unacceptable …
I canceled my health insurance on Dec 2,2025 as they had increased it by 12%.I received the renewal with the price increase on November 28. I am a senior and my drugs are pretty much covered by th ontario drug plan. For a couple it was going to be $296.90 a month
They told me they couldn't stop the automatic withdrawal on Dec 5th, I get that. They told me a refund would be issued as soon as they got the money. I received a letter dated Dec 12 stating the cheque would follow this letter.
Its Jan16,2026 and after several calls and them putting an Urgent request in on January 5 I still don't have the cheque.
Horrible service. I had canceled my house and auto insurance with them after waiting on line for 1.5 hours in September . They asked me why I was canceling . I said if I had been in an accident I needed quicker phone assistance than that. She said they were having higher than usual call volumes.
I wouldn't even give one star
I wouldn't even give one star. This company SUCKS! They are misleading. They do mot have your back when collision happens. Fatima is the WORST claims representative-ewww!!! Stay away from this insurance company!!!!!!
Horrible experience
Horrible experience. Customer service is absent. They scam you into cheaper rate that they will increase without any notice saying that you signed up for some program. Customer service kinda rude and helpless. Avoid at all cost
Thank You Belairdirect
I had a flat tire on a snowy January Saturday night in a small town. I called roadside assistance and the response was immediate. Within an hour a tow truck arrived from the nearest location, a kind and helpful man changed my tire and I was on my way home. I'm an elderly woman who was alone, so I felt great relief that the solution to my problem was so easy to access. I highly recommend this service.
Terrible customer service when registering for insurance
First they asked for pictures of the vehicle which I sent. Then they didn't get back to me after I sent them until way later asking for a Quebec Driver's abstract. Then they sent me a letter in the mail saying they would cancel my insurance after I had emailed them said driver's abstract. Then during the holidays they told me I had a week to get an additional driver's abstract from PEI and that I only had a week or my rates would go up. Then when I told them I couldn't get them the abstract in time and to just up my rates they told me the registration had been drawn out too long (because of their inability to communicate) so they were going to just cancel my policy 2 days before my insurance was canceled. Over-all they're a terrible service that lies through their teeth about the things they say, don't communicate effectively and draw out the entire registration process unnecessarily. If I could give a negative rating I would.
