Good overall, but started to request GP referral evidence for Consultants. This is very difficult to get at some practices due to protocol.
Why would anyone pay to see a consultant for fun!?

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and we're sorry to hear of your upset.

All of the benefits, under all of our policies, have set reimbursement rates. Depending on the maximum limits and reimbursement % for your policy & level of cover, there are likely to be some claims which do not reimburse the full cost, especially if previous claims have already utilised some of the relevant allowance.

However, all our claims are manually assessed by a member of our Claims Services Team, and even with 99.99% accuracy, mistakes can happen (especially across hundreds of thousands of claims). If you’d like us to look into this further for you so we can check your last few claims, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Helpdesk where we’ll see what we can do.

Even for a simple claim, the requirements feel excessive and unnecessarily complicated. The process is time-consuming, there’s no dedicated app to make it easier, and customer service has not been helpful.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and we're sorry to hear of your upset.

BHSF require some key information as standard, for every single claim, such as: the insured person’s name, an itemised breakdown of what has been purchased, confirmation of what has been paid, that nothing is still outstanding and contact details of the service provider. Most receipts given by service providers will include this as standard, and this usually doesn’t need a Policyholder to do anything more than submit the receipt they’re given. However, Policyholders’ should always check their receipts to be sure before submitting them, as claims will be declined if done incorrectly, or missing key information.

This is to ensure that claims meet with the T&Cs of the policy, can be audited correctly & processed when they’re first submitted (assuming they’re legitimate). We do not (currently) have a dedicated app, as we have a dedicated Online Portal for Policyholders to use. However, this is something we’re currently exploring, so this may be something we can offer in the future.

If you ever need any help on submitting a claim if you’re having difficulty, please get in touch with our Helpdesk who will happily go through the process with you if wished.

A long standing policyholder with no regrets

I’ve been with BHFS for many years now since I was introduced to their policies via a benefits package at work. I retired some years ago but have maintained my policy since. Every time a claim is made, payment drops into my account within a week. You cannot fault the service offered.
