Bought a car for over £30k and it’s spent a month now in the garage. Was assured by the salesman that their warranty was worth the money as “we bought them out to ensure they treated the customer fairly” and the warranty is not worth a penny! Almost £6K in repairs and the warranty has wriggled out of paying out. Now I have a car that’s worthless as I can’t afford to get it repaired! So much stress and upset as well as being unable to work as I need a car to do that.
0 stars if i could
Ongoing poor service, update on ongoing issues and reviews
Since we picked up the vehicle from the garage after having half the repairs and the engine light reappearing as expected as the garage also informed us would happen, we have been told keep driving as a minimum until the car goes back infor the remainder of the repairs. Again paying for a car we cannot use. Warranty2000 now telling us that we need to pay for repairs that previously should have been completed by bigmotoring worlds warranty team to the cost of £2500 is disgusting,
Putting a deposit of £4000 down on a vehicle to report the first issues 10 to 14 days after recieving, later to being told drive the car it will be ok for the garage to say you shouldnt be driving the car it is making the issues worse to now be told we have to pay another £2500 for big motoring worlds incompetance at 1 taking 6 months to get this issue looked at and sorted to then handing us over to a different warranty company with no care in the world of helping or resolving my case to being told yes drive ur car it will be fine is nothing short of disgusting. A 4 year old car with issues that could have been avoided if resloved straight away. We now have been waiting 2 weeks on warranty2000 and big motoring worlds communication to find out why the remaining issues wasnt resolved.
Reminder brought the car 27th Dec 2025, reported Jan 2026, went to the garage in June 2026, still not resolved or fixed at the time of writing 3rd Sept 2026 what the point in paying for the 3 year warranty ? Another scam?
I remain without the use of a car, being told £2500 is the cost of repairs add that to loss of earnings for work due to no vehicle amongst the other issues and inconveinace caused in previous reviews. As a customer this is not how you should be treated, i feel robbed and a victim of fraud on how this is still ongoing with genuienly no end in sight of this matter, still no contact with any body.
I want Big Motoring world to get in contact with me and offer a solution which doesnt cost me any more money and for them to accept responsibility for their involvement in this and not to continue cowarding behind a review reply stating they ackowledge the inconvienace but that it.
Account details
Vehicle Reg ML71XOM Range Rover
Name on the vehicle Cox and Mundy you should be able to find our details from that info
Id like to continue addressing the fact that your responses to my reviews are pointless, you continue to acknowledge the frustration this has caused ect and stating in your previous response that this is not good enough if a clear route isnt provided with resolving my case, contact information should have been provided for escalation or ensured me that someone of authority would take ownership of my case and contact me.... guess what no contact no information given. Saying that your communication and handling if my case is unacceptable and should be better but not actually rectifying it is poor and customers should know that this is how you are treated as a customer and aftercare following the sale of a vehicle.
Well after using them before and having the warranty argued every step of the way before they finally agree to pay something towards the fault, we went back and was promised that that wouldn’t happen again as they were either using a different warranty company or had bought it out!! My wife bought a Range Rover and has had it a year and the last 6 weeks it’s been in a garage racking up a £5k bill to which warranties2000 have agreed to pay £1k!!!
How do these companies get away with lying through their teeth tome and again and the customer is left with a large bill.
Will be taking it further

We drove a 5 hour wasted round trip as they offered my car in part exchange between £22,500 and £20,000 on line. After choosing a car they then valued my low mileage very clean car at £17,000. Then they tried to do deals with their warranties, over pricing them at first then reducing the price significantly to make it look like they were offering me more money for my car. I was also paying cash for the remaining balance but the sales person told me to get a loan and use the cash for a nice holiday. I find this company has no morals and are set on selling their products rather than looking after the customer.
I do not recommend buying from this company.

A truly outstanding vehicle transaction. The team was helpful, transparent, and made the entire experience stress‑free. I felt confident every step of the way.

Very disappointing experience with Big Motoring World’s finance offering.
I was quoted 12.9% APR, yet I’ve subsequently managed to secure 8.9% APR through an independent broker using the same finance company.
That left a very bad taste. If the same lender is prepared to finance the same customer and vehicle at a considerably lower rate through a broker, it naturally raises questions about how Big Motoring World’s finance rates are being set and whether customers are being offered genuinely competitive terms.
I appreciate dealerships need to make money, but I’d strongly recommend anyone buying from Big Motoring World shops around for finance independently before accepting their quote. The difference in my case was substantial and could amount to a significant amount of money over the term of the agreement.
Based on my experience, I certainly wouldn’t assume their finance offer is the best deal available to you.

I reserved a car and paid the £99.00 holding fee. The manager Rochas? called me and told me that someone had come in and bought the car that I had reserved. When I protested he casually answered that it was a first come first served system. Actually I thought that it wasn’t. He didn’t offer any real compensation, just an insincere apology. Not a happy exchange I’m afraid. What do others think?

Dear Big Motoring World After Sales Team,
After completing all the required checks and sending my findings to the After Sales Team as requested, I have received little to no response. More importantly, the severity of the issues I reported—particularly the condition of the brakes—does not appear to have been taken seriously.
The condition of the brakes is extremely concerning, and failing to address a serious safety issue such as this promptly is unacceptable. A vehicle’s braking system directly affects the safety of the driver, passengers and other road users, so I am extremely disappointed that this matter has been allowed to continue for so long.
It has now been almost six months since I purchased the car. On the day of collection, I raised several issues with the vehicle and was assured that they would be resolved promptly. Unfortunately, many of these issues remain outstanding despite my repeatedly chasing the After Sales Team for updates.
I feel that my concerns have been repeatedly overlooked, and this has left me without the vehicle I paid for in the condition I was promised. I am therefore asking for this matter to be treated as a priority and for the outstanding issues, particularly the brake-related safety concerns, to be resolved as soon as possible.
I would appreciate a clear response outlining what action will be taken and when I can expect these issues to be fully resolved.
I hope this can be dealt with promptly and satisfactorily so that I can safely enjoy the vehicle I paid for.

This place is hilarious — it’s like walking into a low-budget soft-porn set, except instead of anything remotely exciting, there are naff leather sofas, ageing iMacs pretending to be something they’re not, and salesmen sitting behind a see-through wall, laughing and chatting on their phones.
We walked in wanting to look at the cars in the lot because, frankly, we didn’t even know what car we wanted yet. A perfectly reasonable approach, you’d think.
Apparently not.
Before we were allowed anywhere near an actual car, the “salesman” sat us down and launched into a detailed explanation of PCP and HP finance. We hadn’t looked at a car. We hadn’t chosen a car. We barely knew what we were doing there. Yet somehow we were already discussing how we were going to pay for the mystery vehicle we hadn’t even seen. It was like being asked how you’re going to finance dinner before you’ve looked at the menu.
Then came the next masterpiece: we were shown the exact same website we’d already looked at before arriving, with the salesman helpfully reading the information on the screen out loud to us. Because apparently our ability to read had also been put through the finance approval process.
Eventually, they brought a car out for us to look at. As we walked towards it, we were once again asked how we intended to pay for it.
I genuinely thought I’d wandered onto the set of a sitcom.
We finally got to the car and, while we were looking around it, the salesman stood in the corner watching us. Not helping. Not answering questions. Just… observing. Like a security guard at an art gallery waiting for someone to steal a Picasso.
We then asked if we could simply walk around the lot and look at the other cars. After another impressive amount of waffle from the “salesman”, he eventually agreed.
This is possibly the most backwards way I’ve ever seen anyone attempt to sell a car.
Let people into the lot. Let them look around. If something catches their eye, they’ll ask questions. It’s really not complicated.
And while you’re at it, maybe replace the soft-porn furniture in reception. The combination of shiny leather sofas, see-through walls and men laughing on their phones is… quite the first impression.
I'd probably avoid this place - I don't hold much hope the cars are inspected like they say anyway. All the old lease cars end up here and they're pretty battered.

I came into big motoring world thinking they were a very reputable dealer - at least that’s how they portrayed themselves - I bought a new golf GTI spending around 27 thousand pound outright and within the first week it was diagnosed with a major gearbox fault that required £1300 worth of repair in which their warranty covered less then half - my attempts to get into contact with big motoring world and the warranty were appalling and I was shunted from one to the other and it became a long tedious process - throughout this period I was left without my car for 2 weeks which impacted my ability to get to work and now even a month later they’re still “investigating” my case with little to no updates from big motoring world. The repairs took place at Volkswagen group who even criticised big motoring world for their poor customer care and their lack of vehicle care, the car came with empty brake fluid, low levels of oil and they did not even bother to wash the car before they handed the keys as they promised. I am now having to consider taking action by the country small courts proceeding as advised by my solicitor for the damages ensued from this garbage dealership, they will sell you a dream and shunt you out of their doors and after that they will forget about you, I would seriously urge all people reading this review to go instead to a main dealership as I have learnt now that this is common practice amongst most big motoring world dealerships

I purchased my a Mercedes GLC from Big Motoring World in Maidstone around two years ago. As this was my first major purchase, I took the time to thoroughly inspect the car, carry out the necessary checks and take it for a test drive. Everything appeared to be in good condition, so I felt confident going ahead with the purchase.
Unfortunately, that confidence quickly disappeared. On the three-hour drive home, while travelling at around 70mph, the car began shaking noticeably. I later discovered that the wheels/tyres were imbalanced and the car required a wheel alignment.
I contacted Big Motoring World about the issue, but dealing with them was extremely difficult. What followed was months of back-and-forth emails, with me being sent to multiple places and having to repeatedly pursue the matter before they eventually agreed to refund me for the work that had been carried out. What was particularly frustrating was that I felt I had very little support or option to simply return the vehicle.
Unfortunately, the problems did not end there. The wheel alignment issue continued to reoccur roughly every 8–9 months. I have also experienced ongoing electrical issues with the vehicle.
More recently, the situation became even more serious when the car required an engine replacement. When the vehicle was inspected by the garage, I was told that the original Mercedes engine had apparently been glued on, which had subsequently resulted in foam and rust developing around the area.
For a purchase that was supposed to give me confidence and peace of mind, this has been an incredibly frustrating and expensive experience. As a first-time buyer making such a significant purchase, I expected much better customer service and, more importantly, a vehicle that was properly prepared and fit for purpose.
The way my original issues were handled left me feeling trapped with a car that continued to develop problems, and the recent findings regarding the engine have been particularly upsetting.
I would strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing from Big Motoring World to carry out as many independent checks as possible before committing to a vehicle. My personal experience has been extremely disappointing.

Post My experience with Big Motoring World has been extremely poor. I was without a car for months, the vehicle suffered repeated breakdowns, there were long delays and poor communication, and I did not receive a proper resolution despite giving Big Motoring World several chances to put things right. Court appears to be the next option Based on my experience, I would not recommend Big Motoring World.

Welcomed and booked in within 5mins with and advisor called Bethan…whe was brilliant, good bloke, kept it light and fun, no hard sales pitch…
The aftercare/handover once I made my purchase, was then taken care of by the wonderful Kayleigh…
Kayleigh was sharp, well spoken in terms of keeping it quick and simple, everything was done in a flash, due to a slight cleaning delay Kayleigh then returned to get me, all resolved in minutes and Kayleigh was bright, polite and concise…impressive.
