Appointment booking nightmare
My wife has a yearly review but getting an appointment is a nightmare. For the past 3 years, appointments have been cancelled and trying to rearrange has been difficult to put it politely. The store, when visited, made an appointment only for it to be cancelled. Trying to rearrange, the store said it could not make appointments for annual reviews - WHY?? The on-line booking system did not work, again, and the telephone took an eternity to be answered. Eventually, getting through, an appointment was made, for the same day but an hour earlier. Why on earth could this not have been done when an appointment was made, face to face, in the store?? She was told the appointment had not gone on to the system, so how come she received texts to cancel and confirm (two separate texts, 30 minutes apart)? Totan incompetence and a system which seem designed to confound the customer.

I’m perplexed that there are good reviews for Elise. Having had really lovely audiologists in the past at this branch, I now have someone who I have never seen smile, is unwelcoming & who always gives the impression that she would rather be somewhere else rather than dealing with the public. I will be going elsewhere when I need new hearing aids going forward.
Following response from Hearingcare I have since sent several emails to them, the last over a week ago, & have not had the curtesy of reply from them. Extremely poor customer service!

Lost faith
The hearing test was good. However,advised of different types of options and not showing them was a big let down.
The worse was not being advised of the delay in obtaining hearing aids . 3 visits without a hearing aid being fitted and explained how to use the new technology very disappointing.
I felt very worried about how the aftercare would be.
I really wanted to buy from Boots as I trusted them initially.

The appointment with Elise
Elise was excellent in all respects, in her initial testing
and the details regarding how to use the hearing aids, and about the test period details.
She was available to contact if I had problems with the operation of the new hearing aids at home.
Shop around - not helpful!
I just wish I hadn’t gone to Boots for my first ever hearing aids.
I needed more support than they gave.
I wish they had helped me understand about insuring my aids etc.
They also offered zero support in using the technology of the aids like the app, Bluetooth connectivity etc. I was just told I could do what I wanted. I then contacted Phonak directly who told me….
“ We would therefore request that in the first instance you kindly direct your enquiry to the person or company from whom you purchased your hearing instruments and aftercare package.”
So not happy with their service either! For the money I expect someone to help me.
Luckily I met someone at the pub who also has Phonak hearing aids and helped me with all of this. Connecting to my phone etc.
Really unhappy with the service received.
Nothing I can do now, but wish I had gone elsewhere.
