Good service but poor first impression
Lee Barrington was brilliant, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The only reason I didn’t give five stars was the girl who I spoke to when arriving first time didn’t book me in so I had to wait 15 minutes past the appointment time. I mentioned this to her the second time and she just shrugged and giggled. Not good for first impressions at all. However, the brilliance of Lee convinced me to stay with you.

Lee at Boots Hearing Centre at Handforth Dean was superb. I had hearing aids from another company and they were not fitted correctly for my needs. He said he couldn’t get into the site to adjust as he put the hearing aids back in my ears he could still hearing them whistling. Lee in no way shape or form was not trying to sell
me anything he said I can take them back but when I got mine I wasn’t told anything about the 4yrs warranty which everyone gets. I would recommend going to see Lee as an audiologist.

From the moment I walked in, the sales approach felt aggressively forced, with additional items pushed on me without clear consent or transparent pricing. Costs were not disclosed upfront, which immediately eroded my trust. What concerns me most is the checkout process: instead of being given a proper sales receipt, I was handed only a credit card receipt—effectively removing any realistic chance of returning items that were pressured on me. This tactic felt intentional and misleading. Based on this experience, I urge anyone considering this store to proceed with extreme caution, verify all prices before agreeing to anything, and insist on a full sales receipt. Protect yourself—don’t assume you’ll be treated fairly unless you actively safeguard your rights.

The hearing aids have transformed my life for the better
After suffering hearing loss for some time I decided to go to Boots, Handforth, for a test that confirmed serious hearing loss. After considerable discussion/advice with the Audiologist, Lee I purchased a pair Phonak Infinio Sphere i70. These are behind the ear, self adjusting, high sound quality aids - not the cheapest by any means. After a month of wearing them they have transformed my life for the better - I don't know I have then on. What I have also realised is the importance of the Audiologist in the after sales service to ensure that I am adjusting to life with sound and that I can maintain the aids correctly- thank you Lee. came in to my local boots that ive been going in for years to find that they have now put self checkouts in , i dont want to be served by a robot and i dont get payed to scan items , ill keep asking to be served at the perfume bit and using cash to keep the staff in a job

All possible options of different hearing aids were explained.
Good in-store - but poor customer service
Three stars is an average of 5* for the in-store audiologist staff but only 1* for Customer Service.
The 5* is largely self-explanatory. The staff are always skilled, considerate and helpful.
But the in-store teams are rather let down by Customer Service. Responses are generally slow and often unhelpful.
Literature is poor in terms of layout and usefulness.
Professional Audiologists
Easy to book appointment and back up e mails. Good knowledge from audiologist and very professional. Good explanation all through various tests.
