Absolutely disgraceful!!

This is absolutely hands down the worst shop I have ever been to!!
I visited the Carnaby Street store in London yesterday with my 16 year old daughter who was keen to visit on a rare shopping trip to London.
Firstly the staff are rude beyond belief, barking orders about where you should stand to join the change room queue. Barging you out the way to put stock away. Far more interested in their on conversions re their social calendar to be helping customers!
Secondly the ‘one size’ system they have is ludicrous - my daughter is a size 8/10 and couldn’t get into some of the clothes! All of the staff are waif like sticks obviously so they can wear the clothes they sell but I am sure this must contravene some employment laws as discrimination!?!
Thirdly the store layout is cramped, full of stock. The floor is uneven, I and others tripped up (much to the amusement of the ‘security guard’).
I have never felt so uncomfortable in a shopping environment! We will not be returning and I advise if you are thinking of going not to bother - stick with Hollister who actually seem to value their customers!!

Worst customer service and clearly just…

Worst customer service and clearly just a money hungry brand. I ordered two of the same item in two different colours, one of the items was a completely different size and shape, even though it was advertised the same on the website . Customer service was extremely rude and unhelpful and refuse to give a refund. Instead they stated that sometimes production changes , which would be fair enough if you didn’t advertise them the exact same on the website and did not state anywhere they might be different

The size was written as XS/S but when…

The size was written as XS/S but when arrived it was one size and the quality wasn't so good. I won't be buying from here again. I didn't return as i needed the item for a weekend away. I spent an evening shortening the trousers and sewing it. It wasn't worth sending it back or paying £18 for the tailor to mend it. I'll probably throw it away and find a better quality item somewhere else.

very good but a little slow on delivery

the clothes are super nice and comfy and good quality, i have several tops one jumper and one pair of trousers from there and they are all still going strong very soft. obviously the sizing isn’t going to fit everyone as it’s just one size but i’m a size 8 and all of the clothing fits me nicely so there is some variety and the jumpers are nicely oversized so woukd fit many sizes. my only complaint is i paid for 2 days express shipping but it still came to me in 5 days, which is when the standard shipping was supposed to have arrived so i’m assuming standard shipping would take maybe 2 weeks. instore i’ve always had a good experience with the employees and positive feedback for their shops.

If i could give no stars i would

If i could give no stars i would. Im am shocked a shop like this exists. It only sells clothes in size small or extra small. Terrible shop terrible ethics and should not be allowed. Encouraging young girls to diet and loose weight to fit into tiny sizes. Shame on you Brandy Melville.

Really disappointed

Really disappointed. Ordered white vests and they sent cream, it’s hard to get through to them. They say no white in stock, although it shows them on their website, I have to now send them all back and wait for a refund even through they sent me the wrong items

This store is absolutely horrible

This store is absolutely horrible. Please don’t shop there. My daughter received a Christmas gift and opened it on Christmas day and went to return it two weeks later. Because the person that gifted her the gift bought it more than 30 days before she returned it they would not give us our money back, exchange or even give a store credit. The tags were on it it and it had never been worn. How is someone that gets a gift supposed to know their return policy ahead of time? The 30 day return policy period had expired before she even got the gift.. All they’re doing is trying to rip off customers. Even after talking to multiple managers and explaining the situation they were not willing to help. My daughter had been shopping there for more than five years and they still were not willing to help. The store has by far the worst customer service of any store I’ve shopped at. Spread the word!!

What 🤍

First of all what are these sizes? Second, the price for A Single t shirt is absurd, it’s so tiny and then it costs £30. robbed. And lastly the material, if you even think of sweating in their clothes they stain such a bright yellow and it never comes out.

Brandy Melville= anorexia promotion

Brandy Melville= anorexia promoting dangerous company!
Went into the shop to look for some sweat pants for my daughter only to be greater by judgemental looks of staff when I questioned lack of different sizes! All the clothes were more or less the same size S!
Really?! How is that possible in the age of political correctness to allow place like that where young people are being scrutinised for looking healthy!!
How can we allow this sort of treatment to be inflicted on our kids already scrutinised by various social media!!!!!
This place is a factory for anorexic and bulimic teenagers!!!!
If a young person goes into that hellish store they will look around and think that’s it I’m officially fat have to loose weight to fit in… straight route to anorexia, bulimia or other eating psychosomatic disorder!!!!
Who allowed this shop in the UK?!
This needs to be stopped for the sake of our kids!!!!
Please get in touch with your MP and put pressure on them to act.
This company needs to be banished in UK unless they start offering healthy sizes of their clothes….

In my view the quality of the clothes…

In my view the quality of the clothes generally is pretty good and I love the styling, whilst the provision of only one size in each line is controversial, it saves waste and is a good thing for the planet. I have always been a regular customer both in store and online. Up until recently, I had never returned anything online however my recent experience of a return left much to be desired.
As per a previous review; in consumer law, off-the-peg clothing ordered online is subject to a 14 day return policy with the vendor paying all postage (both receipt and return). In contravention to UK law Brandy Melville makes it clear that this is not their policy. However my recent experience demonstrates a darker concern than this.
So here’s some advice to circumvent Brandy Melville’s online returns issue;
1. Ensure you order and pay using a credit card or Paypal, I ordered using Paypal and although the same legal stuff will apply, the exact policies will be different depending on card provider. Other methods of payment may also give buyers protection, but I am by no means an expert on this.
2. Bag up your return “stating goods received not as described” (ensuring returned items are in the always excellent condition you will have received them), you may want to take a photo/video of the items to demonstrate they are still in saleable condition. So no wearing them first!
3. Use a courier service which provides proof of receipt. I used Hermes, they not only supplied email updates on the whereabouts of my return parcel, they provided me with a photo and email confirming delivery.
4. Contact Brandy Melville returns, do NOT go into any detail simply state your order number, and reason for the return e.g. that “items received were very different to the pictures/description on your website” make it clear which items have been returned and forward documentary proof from the courier. Ensure you answer any emails received from them politely and factually, even if their questions demonstrate total indifference/incompetence by multiple staff. You are, after all better than this aren’t you.
5. Contact Paypal/credit card company to open a dispute, in my case this was Paypal, their online resolution centre was very straight forward and I ticked the “goods received not as described” box. I asked for the refund price of both the items I had received, plus the cost of the postage and likewise forwarded the evidence of receipt from the courier. In the case of Paypal, their terms are that you need to engage to solve the dispute for 20 working days, if it is not resolved by then, you can then escalate it to a claim to request that Paypal make the refund to you and claim it from the vendor.
6. Following lodging a dispute with Paypal, I received my first coherent (but still slightly incompetent/annoying) email from BM next working day and refund from them the day after.
7. Remember pay for all online purchases ensuring you have buyer protection, keep your cool 😎(in my case they tried the old “didn’t receive your parcel” routine, it is important to keep your courier proof of delivery and not panic if this happens), keep emails to BM short, responding politely to their daft/incompetent questions by multiple staff, keep it simple and polite, stating goods not as described avoid unnecessary detail/venting your spleen.
8. Good Luck!

Weird

went into the west end store with my 14 year old at around 6.30. Its like a jumble sale but my daughter seemed to like it. Took her time picking things out and decide to try on 4 things. At 6.45 went to the stairs but the changing rooms were closed as they shut at 7. When I questioned why, the sales assistant just walked off. If that is the case there should be a notice as I thought we had time and would not have wasted the past 15 mins browsing. One very disappointed daughter and an internal determination never to give them any of my hard earned.

I had the worst experience EVER in store today at the kings road brandy melville ! They tried to charge me extra after mid pricing an item and then after extreme reluctance took up to 22minutes to give me a gift receipt of the difference that ‘expired soon’ - I am appaled and honestly will not be returning with my friends any time soon - staff are also very rude and have lost a lot of customers with this - I have heard nothing but bad news about the new brandy melville at school and a lot of people have stopped going there due to the bad service at kings road brandy melville - honestly they would have to do a lot for me and two of my friends to ever go back - honestly with the thinspo and the bad designs lately everyone has been saying brandy is no longer trendy and it’s about time for its downfall i now finally agree - there are so many way cuter shops now
