Awful and unnecessary

I've had to give one star, just to be able to write this, but zero would be more accurate.
Why do they make these changes? And who do they test them with before they live? The page looks awful, and my email no longer open as the once did.
BT do not have a generic email address, probably because they don't want to be inundated with complaints. I would change provider but, having had the same email address since the mid 90's, I would lose too many contacts

Ghastly BT email recent update

Ghastly BT email recent update. How could any company introduce such a hopeless "upgrade"? I have found 14 major issues/failings so far and am still finding them. Even typing an email is now an awful experience of system errors. Surely those responsible should be held accountable? It does not even seem possible to revert to the previous format? I expect to be moving from btinternet. Tom.

Email change is beyond awful

Actually - no stars for this abysmal 'change' to BT email. Could cope with the previous version although not as easy to use as it could be, but the present incarnation is crap. Why is the refresh icon greyed out and not functioning? So difficult even the font is painful on the eyes, why so tiny? Writing an email is about as easy as getting blood from a stone. Text hesitates to appear, deleting a word almost impossible. I painfully wrote a complaint email to the CEO, he left in January, no contact given for the replacement. What a shower.

What an horrendous downgraded change

What an horrendous downgraded change to something that looks like Outlook but operates so much worse. The formatting on my company signature has gone haywire and it just simply won't allow me to change it without limiting it to such a small size. On my iMAC I can't easily see which are the incoming new emails as the BOLD highlight just is not bold! Much harder to save / send without making the window the full size of the screen or trying in vain sometimes (and don't know why) to be able to scroll down within the window without the cursor jumping back into the text. Weird.

Appears to be copying Outlook but not as good

The new interface appears to be copying Outlook's format. That would be good if it worked like Outlook! It took a while for me to figure out it's new functions, which is to be expected. What wasn't expected was the continual self-adjusting of the cursor when attempting to write emails. I spent around an hour drafting an email that should have taken 15 minutes since the cursor kept shooting back to the very beginning of the screen. I checked it was not my laptop - restarted it, checked if it happened on Word or my Outlook account etc. They were fine. Still the blinking cursor kept shooting back to the start of my BT emails. Let's hope that it'll settle down and this isn't going to turn into a persistent issue for other people

New BT email Terrible!!

The new BT email format and configuration is absolutely horrendous and full of glitches. They have chosen to "fix" a system that wasn't broken thus making it worse, not better. I feel slightly less peeved after coming here and realising it's not just me who has a problem with this. Sort it out BT!

Unusable email service.

They have changed the email format (again !) and for the worse, as usual.

I reply to an email and 'send' then I get returned to the top of the inbox instead of where I was.

This makes it unusable.

Their complaints system is unusable too.

Poor web BT email update

BT have just updated their web email system. When I am drafting an email, the cursor keeps jumping to the start of the message every time it does an autosave. It makes the web email system unusable. It's another example of BT making things worse for users. The other example is when BT changed the email app after leaving Yahoo. Their email systems just get worse and worse.

BT Email access upgrade?

Since BT changed their recent email portal and how to access emails it appears to be a step backwards by this company for people who use a bt email account and not a continous improvement to their provided service or customer focused change

BT email only works in the UK

My husband and I are on a cruise going to Australia and our BT email addresses have been security protected or blocked in plain English. I have spent 2 days on chat with them and the bottom line is that BT email is only for use in the UK. I was not informed of this and have been a BT employee and customer for 40 years. They can only unblock the email by sending a pin to my blocked email which I cannot access or send a text to my mobile phone which being on a ship is not feasible. I am therefore cast adrift from my email with no resolution. They won't send a pin via WhatsApp or to an alternative email. As I regularly travel, I have no option but to leave BT.

I would be ashamed if I were you

I would be ashamed if I were you. The one star was for the service till I needed help. The lack of any more was stars was for the total lack of any understanding as to what they do, or how they do it. Certainly regarding their customer care. Beyond atrocious I was hung up on. Lied to. Promised things that didn’t arrive. Promised compensation that is ongoing. Two engineers that didn’t fix anything. One engineer appointment that wasn’t even put in the system. Waited in for that one. Then obviously, didn’t arrive. Spoke to probably 6 of their ‘CUSTOMER SERVICE’ people (ha). I was even sent a email from them, with a notice saying the problem had been resolved. Absolutely appalling treatment. To the point of no return where there’s only one option. Leave. Awful customer service. Just dreadful. I will never go back to you. I would advise everyone to look elsewhere. When you need them. There is less than help. Just continuous frustration and sever lack of any care.

new log in is totally useless

new log in is totally useless. every time i log in it tells me to check i have the correct log in details. this goes on for 3 or 4 attempts and then it will go through. i have another account but this one does not work at all and i am unable to check it. BT needs to get rid of the morons that decided this was a good idea and employ people who know what they are doing.

Very pleased customer…

Recently made a call to Bt requesting assistance with my E mail.
I did not catch your representatives name but he was excellent.
I am not a technical person but he steered me through my problem. Helped be load the e mail app (which is great)
He was patient and gave me clear instructions which must have been a challenge to him. Very impressed and appreciative just sorry I didn't catch his name. Thanks
