I am very impressed with the customer service and how easy the loan process was. Eric Portley was great. He answered all my questions promptly and listened to my needs. Brittany Knaack was also very helpful and was kind and efficient. I had an issue with my account number so there was a delay in my funding. I told Eric. He put my mind at ease. Brittany and Eric reached out to the appropriate person, Kayla, to get the numbers straightened out. She was also kind and efficient. Even with hiccups, that was no fault of theirs, they got everything done and with kindness. Good customer service is hard to find. So often you call a company and have to wait through machines and get the run around with no solid answers. Not them. If they didnt have the answers, they reached out promptly and got back to me. The process was easy and it was so pleasant to work with people who care.

Broke It Down
My loan officer was Sunday R.
When I was first contacted by Sunday, she asked me my reason for wanting to do another re-fi.After getting the particulars of my current loan, she pointed out the advantages of what Button could offer me. She broke the finance lingo down to where it made sense to me. She then asked me other questions about my financial situation. She pointed out the SBA loan i got during the pandemic, did not offer the best of terms, and for a few $1000 more, I could pay it off early, and save a considerable amount in interest paid over the full term of the loan. Like the title says, "she broke it down" to where it made sense to me. She was always professional and curtious in our conversations. Sunday R. is top shelf in my opinion.

I did not know my loan had been transferred...
I did not know my loan had been transferred until I received a request for payment from Shellpoint. I noticed that principal was not included in the requested payment. I called Shellpoint and talked to a young woman. When I asked her if this was an interest only loan, she answered in what I considered a rude tone and said yes. She explained more, in a way that I felt she was thinking I was stupid for asking about that. I searched for 2 hours in my paperwork from Button Finance, and could not find anything that described my loan as interest only. I contacted Button Finance and they confirmed that this was an interest only loan. I am not happy how this situation was handled. I had explained to Patrick Johnson from the beginning of our conversation that my top payment I could afford would be $600. I was including a principal payment in that amount. But now my interest only payment is $660 and I have to add a principal payment to that each month. I did not receive my Notice of Servicing Transfer from Button Finance until Nov 13, 2025, even thought the loan transfer occurred 9/10/25. I did not receive the Welcome Package within 15 days of the loan transfer as described by Patrick Johnson.
I also don't appreciate how Shellpoint answers the phone with the statement "this is an attempt to collect a debt" as if I'm behind in my payments.
So no, this has not been a good experience.
