Chris was fantastic and helped me to choose a laptop that was affordable for me and suited my needs. I went for a Dell Vostro 3700 as I needed the Windows 7 32-bit. Chris gave me a fantastic deal. He is also a lovely man and was very quick at replying to my emails and phone calls. A real family business (which makes a refreshing change from dealing with the large impersonal companies). It is very tricky when your laptop breaks and you are a volunteer, but Chris gave me a very good deal on a refurb laptop. It comes with a 3 year warranty and it arrived by Next Day Delivery. I cannot fault the service and I definitely recommend this company, which is a real gem.

I found no problem with ordering a projector. I spoke with a friendly sales man, got a good discount and confirmed the order. Only hiccup was the issuing of a 'goods dispatched' email on a Monday, when the courier did not collect it until Wednesday. Apart from a worrying day or two, the service was fine and the product excellent.
I had no problem getting through on the phone, apart from the usual 'press 1 for yet more music..' which is normal for just about any size company. I'd certainly consider buying from them again.

No product has arrived after 2 weeks. No one answers the phone, we rung for over 20 minutes before finally getting through! and the only phone number they have is a premium rate number charging a small fortune for the privilege.

One through we are told to email support, not help at all!

Also the hold announcements, initial answer phone and the guy who eventually answered were all the same person... probably a one man operation out of some kids bedroom!


We had to go to our bank and report it as fraud before we could get our money back.

The positive reviews here are clearly fake!

Purcashed a item from this company and it came without a power cable and was a different part number then what was advertised.

Due to Christmas we were unable to unpack the package until around a month after it had been delivered but thier approach was that they accused us of both switching the item and refused to refund.

Lesson learnt you pay a cheap price and you get a cheap level of service.

I ordered a freeview box from the website, they called me up the next day and said we do not have that one in stock anymore.

So he says I will do you a deal on another one, so he persuaded me to buy the other one for £223.00. I was at work at the time and could not check other retailers. So when I got home I checked online and guess what...... currys were selling the exact same item for £50.00 less than he charged me.

I tried to call them and was spoken to in a disgusting manor by a young person, they actually hung up on me and told me to send an email.

So I emailed them and they still have not contacted me whatsoever, I called again and asked top speak to the person who actually called me and they were unavailable.

The only time they want to speak to you is if you are spending money....

Total rip off merchants BEWARE !!!!!!!!

First class service. One of the best companies I've dealt with for a long, long time. Friendly and professional team who go above and beyond every time. An absolute pleasure to deal with. Would recommend to anyone.

I found my experience with Byfarthecheapest to be pleasurable and quite strangely, different from your usual IT supplier. The staff are helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable. Thumbs up from me.
