SCAM ALERT
⚠️ WARNING: Canada GMC – Immigration Consulting Scam
Do NOT use Canada GMC for immigration consulting services. Here is what happened to us:
1. HIGH-PRESSURE SALES TACTICS: During our initial consultation, we were told we had to pay $1,500 THAT DAY or face a 6–12 month delay in our immigration application. This was a deliberate pressure tactic to prevent us from researching the company or comparing options.
2. FALSE ASSURANCES ABOUT FEES: My husband directly asked the representative whether there would be any additional fees beyond the $1,500 for the full service. He was told NO — this would be the only fee. That was a lie. After paying, we were provided with a document outlining which visas to apply for, and then informed that an additional $4,000 would be required to verify documents, submit an application, and access an RCIC advisor.
3. NO FEE SCHEDULE PROVIDED: We were never given a fee schedule after paying. We only found out one existed when they mentioned more costs — and had to ask for it ourselves.
4. UNABLE TO VERIFY THEIR RCIC: When my husband asked for the name and registered address of their RCIC advisor — information that is LEGALLY REQUIRED to be publicly accessible — the representative could not provide it. We were told the RCIC's name couldn't be shared "for safety reasons." This is not a legitimate explanation.
5. INTIMIDATION WHEN WE COMPLAINED: When we disputed the charges, the representative told us that disputing would constitute slander, that leaving a negative review would be illegal, and that we were "taking money from hardworking employees." When we asked to speak to a manager the representative declined saying they were the last line of defense, yet kept saying they needed to "talk with management" regarding a refund.
6. PRESSURED NDA: They offered us a 20% refund ($300 on $1,500) ONLY if we signed a non-disclosure agreement — with a same-day deadline. We declined.
7. REFUND REFUSED: We sent a formal written refund request citing consumer protection laws, misrepresentation, and pressure tactics. They have not refunded us.
We have filed/are filing complaints with:
- ICCRC/CICC (Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council)
- Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre
Please do your research before paying ANY immigration consultant. Verify their RCIC number on the CICC public registry before giving them a single dollar.
