I had a really good experience in Carbase Bristol last Saturday. Both Joe and Alastair were super friendly and helpful what eased the whole process. We successfully purchased a car and left the place with smiles on our faces.

Great customer service

Matthew was very helpful right from the start. Always there to answer any questions. The only thing I have a few questions about was afterwards we found the heating wasn't working properly and I feel these things should have been checked before the sale. Now it needs to go back for it to be looked at.

Good Sales Pitch, Poor Follow-Up on Safety Issue

I purchased a car from Carbase which was advertised as having passed a 120-point RAC check. Part of that check clearly states that brake pads should have at least 50% life remaining.

However, shortly after purchase, it became clear that the brake pads did not meet this standard. In fact the MOT carried out shortly before purchase even advised that the rear pads should be replaced. This raises serious concerns about whether the inspection was properly carried out or if corners were cut.

I contacted Carbase multiple times to raise this issue, the responded initially but could not provide any proof they had been checked and asked for a report from a garage. I sent them the report stating that they had little life left in them and since then I have received no response. Being ignored when raising a legitimate concern about a safety-related component is extremely disappointing.

I have now been left to cover the cost of replacing the brake pads myself, which should not have been necessary if the vehicle had genuinely met the advertised inspection criteria.

I would strongly advise others to be cautious. A 120-point check should mean something—right now, it doesn’t feel like it does.

Nice and easy process

Found the car I liked on auto trader and sent them a message. They got me booked in for a test drive the day after.

Turned up and got looked after by Tendayi. Top man. Went through everything with me and made the process really easy.

Highly recommend these guys.

My experience at Carbase Bristol was ok

My experience at Carbase Bristol was positive because of great cars deals. It is not perfect, but it saves a lot of shopping around. The after sale service could be improved. I was expecting the car to be deep cleaned given that I paid an extra £399 for a refresh to the upholstery and the body work. The car was originally quite dirty when I tried it. It was wiped down before the handover, but still not quite clean. There was also a brief moment of communication breakdown whilst waiting for the finance on the car to be cleared, yet it was resolved a few days later. I hope I remember that the next time I buy a car from Carbase. They know what they are doing, so I would certainly recommend them

Amazing experience from start to finish…

Amazing experience from start to finish with our salesman john at the bristol car base site.
Through every step of the way john was professional, freindly and down to earth.
He was happy to answer any questions and even offered us drinks throughout!
Always thought buying a car was a stressful experience but john and carbase team made it a pleasure.

Purchased a vehicle in August 2025

Purchased a vehicle in August 2025, September 2025 sunroof started leaking. Now April 2026, issue still ongoing, been in twice and unresolved! sent multiple emails with no response. emailed complaints, no response, Management, no response, service team, no response. you get the picture, asked to return the vehicle in October 2025 as not fit for purpose, still under warranty and issue still unresolved after first attempt of fixing.
Now being told I haven't met the criteria to return the vehicle? seriously?! Avoid unless you want nothing but problems!

I'd recommend Carbase Weston Super Mare…

I'd recommend Carbase Weston Super Mare because when you arrive they are verry helpfull and good understanding when i went for a test drive they give you the keys and let you enjoy the car with out sitting next to you unlike other car dealers, 10 out of10 for that for the test drive, they also explain everything and was realy helpfull i dealt with 2 colleges nathan and mike and they were great thanks for a lovely first finance car, the only 1 problem i had is that when i left the shop the disks and pads where making grinding noise later on in journey but the bristol branch was so helpfull aswell by getting the car repaired and solved just like to thank that branch on behalf aswell, apart from that tiny problem id 100% highly reccomend buy a car from here

Carbase Bristol were great because of their outstanding customer service, particularly from Tony. Super helpful and speedy process when purchasing. Kept in contact while waiting for car to come into the showroom and provided updates, very helpful showing all the controls on the car and ensuring I was comfortable before leaving after buying the car.

I had a great experience at Car Base

I had a great experience at Car Base, thanks to Neil. From the moment I arrived, he was friendly, approachable, and really took the time to understand what I was looking for. He was knowledgeable without being pushy, which made the whole process feel relaxed and comfortable.

Neil answered all my questions clearly and honestly, and I felt confident in the information he gave me. He went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my choice and made the entire experience smooth from start to finish.
